Photoshop :: Gradient Overlay Won't Move With Item
Oct 14, 2013
I've created a button with a gradient overlay, but when I click and drag the button, the gradient overlay stays put, it won't move with the button. Is there an option I'm overlooking to anchor the gradient with the item I've created? I've never seen this before. I'm on Photoshop CC 14.0 on a Mac.
So a friend created a model using zbrush and exported several different *.OBJ files. I imported those to maya and added shaders. They all fit correctly together when imported.
some of those obj files required me to do a mesh->combine. so now it appears that not every item has the same reference point so that when I move or scale the entire item, some of the objects move seperately. I think it is only the ones I had to combine.
I tried freeze transformations, but when doing that, some of the objects lost their scale settings and still didnt move together as one unit.
I have found what I can only assume is a bug. I have a PSD file that when opened in CS5 looks as it should. When I open it in CS6 any shape with a gradient overlay displays as black. When I choose Save for Web it displays correctly in the save window, but the file displays the shapes as black in the regular Photoshop view.
I used to use Ps normally, but since I've reinstalled my Windows recently so I had to reinstall Ps as well. However, when I used Gradient Overlay, it didn't work out correctly as it's supposed to do: no matter how I configured the option, it just filled a solid color instead of a gradient (as number 1 in picture). When I clicked reverse, it filled with the other solid color. Number 2 I used Gradient Tools to make it easier to compare.
I have a webpage that has a gradient background that extends down the page at least 800 px and is set to repeat-x. I have an auto centerd column which has a background applied to it. The background is set to repeat-y. The center column has a dropshadow applied all the way around it. The problem is that I am not able to get the drop shadow to blend in with the gradient as the page grows. Initially at the top of the gradient where it, the gradient, is the darkest, the drop shadow blends in. But as the gradient moves down, i.e., becomes lighter, the drop shadow ceases to blend in any more. is it possible to solve this problem? If so then how?
I've got a real problem here with the Script-fu Gradient Overlay. Every time I try to use it and click on any of the buttons - see screenshot for full list - it shuts Gimp down. There's no warnings, Gimp just suddenly vanishes and if anything is being worked on then all the changes are lost.
Is there a way to, as in Photoshop's effects gallery, create a color-overlay on an already-done gradient in Illustrator CS 5.1? I've already done the gradient and I have my color, but can't quite make it work.
I'm in the process of making a collage which consists of several layers with elements cut out from photographs (=these elements make up the composition). All elements have their separate layer.
My question is how can I apply a gradient overlay to a selection or 1 element(=on seperate layers).
I found how I can apply a gradient overlay but this is for the whole image instead of 1 specific element in the composition.
I use PSE9 for digital scrapbooking. Lately, when I have several pictures and elements on the page, I have to click on the Layers Pallette to select an item to move. If I don't click on another item, the item I have just selected will move when I move my mouse. I used to be able to click on an element or picture on the page and move it.
The project I am working on includes revit data produced from a point cloud. The file I was given has two levels. The first level is fine however; the second level is set 1 foot too high. When I adjust the level elevation (drop it down by 1 foot), all of the elements associated with level two move with it. What I want to do is move the level line without adjusting the associated revit items.
All I am trying to do is move an anchor from one location to another using vbscript. I have searched everywhere and scoured the scripting references but I have not been able to figure this out as of yet.
I am able to select anchor points without an issue....moving those points seems to be a problem.
What governs the location/distance from the object of the "object move symbol" when an item is selected? See attached image. I have selected the blue view reference text but the four way arrow/move symbol is way below it. This isn't using the move command. The arrows can be hard to find in a crowded sheet if it's very far from the item selected.
For reference I have added an image showing the location of the object move symbol for a text item. It's in the upper left corner of the text outline.
I am rebuilding a raster logo in Illustrator and I'm having trouble getting my Gradient how I'd like it.
I have a radial gradient applied to an object, but I cannot figure out how to move the center of the gradient.
The gradient's center is aligned to the object's center. Can I move the gradient's origin, or possibly the objects center? I attached a screenshot for referance.
If I cannot adjust any obj/gradient centers, can I just create my gradient in PS and create a Clipping Mask?
I also noticed the "Left Endpoint's Color" is not available.
I'm fairly familiar with Gimp in general, but never needed to get this deep editing gradients. Of course, if those sliders would move I could have figured out the rest...
I'm using Gimp 2.8.4, Win8 I also noticed the "Left Endpoint's Color" is not available.
I'm fairly familiar with Gimp in general, but never needed to get this deep editing gradients. Of course, if those sliders would move I could have figured out the rest...
I've got a circle with a radial gradient going from purple on the outside to white at the center (a grape). How do I get the white center to move someplace other than the center? It was easy in Freehand...
How do I fix gradients within an object so that they remain where they are when the object is cut using the intersect paths tool, instead of the gradient fill being redistributed to the new object?
Also, how do I use the colour picker tool to pick a discrete colour within an object filled within a gradient, rather than it selecting the whole gradient swatch?
I would like to divide the green leaves on the image below over the green object on the right so that the leaves create the shape of the lines. They have to fill the space of the green object at a similar shape as it is now.
I tried blend but since the leaves are grouped objects with gradient fills, but then this is the result.I need to divide the leaves along the green shape so they follow the shape.
Is it possible to create a gradient similar to radial gradient, except that the shape is other than circular? This image would be the starting point, but I would like the white part fading to black to be another shape (say, a rectangle, a banana, etc.).
I've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.
I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset:
When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first.
I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.
Bit of a Photoshop novice here, use it for DVD covers and labels. I have been using CS3 previously but upgraded to CS5.5 last year. The thing is on CS5.5 I can only print one page at a time even when I input say 20 copies to be printed, only one will print. That goes for the regular printer for printing covers and the disc printer.
I can open CS3 up and right away it will print however many I ask it to.
Is there something I am missing? Something so painfully obvious that it is staring me in the face but I am just not seeing it?
I have this image that i want to use for my website, The website is built on a predesigned template, so all the images have been made for me. However, it's a humor site, and i don't think the logo is very fitting. There's this water in the image that i want to get rid of, but i've tried to no avail.
I want to know if you can remove an item from a picture and it's shadow...lets say I have a picture with a vase...can I remove the vase with it's shadow from this picture to be placed in another photo...
