I am using CS and this tutorial is not for CS. Also, when I put a newspaper that I made in Photoshop into Pagemaker and tilt the newspaper, the text gets messed up and the lines get crooked and "pixelated".
So I am getting into page design stuff. Mostly screen viewed, single page documents.
I currently have Photoshop CS. After I design a page, my company sends out the page in .PDF format. However, when I make a page with graphics and text in Photoshop, it looks fine in Photoshop but when I save it as a PDF and open the PDF in Acrobat, the text looks blurry. A friend of mine said because Photoshop makes text in bitmap and if I want text to look crisp in PDF, it has to be vector based text. Code:
I don't have the pagemaker program so I am unable to figure this out for myself. I have a few inmates that work on the prison newspaper, and they are having problems with bringing a picture into pagemaker, and trying to match up colors. If anyone can help that's cool. I tried a few different things with the time I had, but none of them worked.
Problem:
We brought in a picture from Adobe Photoshop 6.0 with the background pantone color of 117 into a document with the same pantone color. The problem is that both colors are correct but they don't match when both placed into pagemaker. It's kind of weird to say the least, but if somebody could shed a little light on the subject that would be great. I would have examples, but it's on another computer locked behind doors I can't get into right now.
I was playing around with the page curl effect and found it quite cumbersome to do it over and over again in order to make the character rip through the centre of the page. Is there any easy way to achieve this effect....or maybe an action or filter?
For instance, in the picture, I want to make bugs bunny appear to have ripped through the hole with page curls along the border of the hole.
Does anyone know if or how to share fonts between PhotoShop 6.0 and PageMaker 7.0? I have client who needs to do this and I can't figure out how to do this.
I have InDesgin Cs4 and want to open Pagemaker files. I cannot seem to do it. So...I should purchase InDesgin CC and it would do it. So I did....now I have both...and still cannot open old pagemaker files.Â
I need to make PDFs in PageMaker 6.5 that I can import into CorelDraw12. When making the PDF I have selected "embed all fonts" (I do not have the "convert to curves" option.) but the fonts are not being converted to curves. When imported all fonts display in Corel as artistic type or are substituted.  Is there a way to  convert fonts to curves in Pagemaker?
what's the easiest way to make a paper curl shadow? seems like it is common on Mac's and when using Keynote on the Mac I was thinking of using the mould tool to create a shadow and then put that behind my screenshot, but if there is an easier way, I would love to know. One that looks like the attached.
I can switch and go to another graphics program, but I would like to figure it out and use XARA X1 to accomplish it. How do you apply a curl to a page sorta like this:
I'm using version 7, I'm trying to create a curled paper effect then paste an image on the "paper". A couple of web sites suggested creating a rectangle then create a path or something like that and then using the pen tool and the "handles" manipulate the corners. I'm not sure if I have the terminology correct but the problem is that when I create the rectangle and go to add the path (the icon looks like a circle with handles on it) it's grayed out and can not be selected and manually creating a path with the pen tool doesn't work.
I have found loads of tutorials showing how to do this with a normal single tone page but I am having trouble getting the curl to work well on the bottom right hand corner with the texture and also the torn edge. I have tried distorting it but it just goes all blurred.
Is it possible to create a gradient similar to radial gradient, except that the shape is other than circular? This image would be the starting point, but I would like the white part fading to black to be another shape (say, a rectangle, a banana, etc.).
I've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.  I save all gradients at:  C:UsersRHAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6PresetsGradients  However it does (mostly) work when I import pre-made (from web) Gradients.  I don't know why this happens but it also did the same thing when I had CS5.5!
I have CS5. The bugs and broken features in AICS6, make it unusable in my workflow. Â I am specifically concerned about the inability to drag global color swatches from the color panel to Gradient stops in the Gradient Panel. I use this method to update a gradient color because I find it MUCH faster than option-dragging to duplicate a stop color, then deleting the unused stop. Since I do this constantly, I find using CS6 very tedious.
Im looking for the name of a technique, tool, or plugin that will enable me to fade one image into another. I have two images, one of a day sky, one of a night sky, that I'm merging together, similar to this:
999887767788999 999887767788999
222334454433222 222334454433222
I need the 9 faded into the 2, the 8 faded into the 3, etc. I would use a Gradient Fill but it simply fills all the white space with a gradient from 9 to 2. Short of selecting a space 1 pixel wide hundreds and hundreds of times, and then filling with a gradient, is there something that will let me use a 2D gradient, as it were?
how I can have an all around gradient for a rectangle.
Right now, the way I'm doing it is putting gradient on the left & right side of the rectangle, and then making a top and bottom rectangle with gradients to match the sides. This is a PITA ..
The design I’m attempting will use two love hearts instead of two circles. The problem is that this tutorial shows you how to create that gradient look by using the marquee tool to draw in the circles. When I use the shape tool and add in two hearts I can't use the gradient tool to create the same effect:
I cannot apply a gradient with a transparency for my gradient map! Is this the way it si supposed to work? I really Really want to apply the gradient with transparency, thus so all my black gradient bump map turns transparent.
I have found what I can only assume is a bug. I have a PSD file that when opened in CS5 looks as it should. When I open it in CS6 any shape with a gradient overlay displays as black. When I choose Save for Web it displays correctly in the save window, but the file displays the shapes as black in the regular Photoshop view.
I want to make a gradient go from light blue to dark blue so I adjust the lower first stop to light blue and the second lower stop to dark blue. Â 1. I do not want any transparency within the gradient, so do I just leave the stops on top in their default locations on the ends? Â 2. Any example of how transparency in a gradient can be used?
Is it possible to make a gradient over a defined path? For example from one end of an and-sign & to the other so that one is absolute dark and the other one white and so that this gradient is as if you would draw an and-sign with a pen constantly raising pressure on the paper so that it gets darker and darker?
It is for a logo in which one side should be really dark and the other one white.
I recently started noticing very bad gradient banding when using the gradient tool. It's specifically bad when using darker colors. I also noticed when using the blur filter I get banding with dark colors also. I am working on 16 bit document. Â [URL]..........
here is a screenshot of what I am seeing. My color mode is RGB Color 16 bit Color profile SRGB  Here are my computer stats  iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011 Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB Serial Number C02H96AUDHJP Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F37)
I can easily create a preset gradient, but I see no editor anywhere. Everything I see online shows an editor UNDER the presets. CS6 for Mac is not showing this.
in Ps5, trying to create mist effect - create layer copy, adjust saturation to -100 and lightness to +100, (image turns completely white),select gradient tool, select BandW linear gradient. I drag the pointer from bottom of image to top, but nothing changes - image still completely white, as if the gradient has not been applied.
I used to use Ps normally, but since I've reinstalled my Windows recently so I had to reinstall Ps as well. However, when I used Gradient Overlay, it didn't work out correctly as it's supposed to do: no matter how I configured the option, it just filled a solid color instead of a gradient (as number 1 in picture). When I clicked reverse, it filled with the other solid color. Number 2 I used Gradient Tools to make it easier to compare.
