Jul 2, 2004Does anyone know if or how to share fonts between PhotoShop 6.0 and PageMaker 7.0? I have client who needs to do this and I can't figure out how to do this.

Feb 1, 2006So I am getting into page design stuff. Mostly screen viewed, single page documents.
I currently have Photoshop CS. After I design a page, my company sends out the page in .PDF format. However, when I make a page with graphics and text in Photoshop, it looks fine in Photoshop but when I save it as a PDF and open the PDF in Acrobat, the text looks blurry. A friend of mine said because Photoshop makes text in bitmap and if I want text to look crisp in PDF, it has to be vector based text. Code:

Sep 13, 2004I don't have the pagemaker program so I am unable to figure this out for myself. I have a few inmates that work on the prison newspaper, and they are having problems with bringing a picture into pagemaker, and trying to match up colors. If anyone can help that's cool. I tried a few different things with the time I had, but none of them worked.
Problem:
We brought in a picture from Adobe Photoshop 6.0 with the background pantone color of 117 into a document with the same pantone color. The problem is that both colors are correct but they don't match when both placed into pagemaker. It's kind of weird to say the least, but if somebody could shed a little light on the subject that would be great. I would have examples, but it's on another computer locked behind doors I can't get into right now.

Apr 4, 2014I have InDesgin Cs4 and want to open Pagemaker files. I cannot seem to do it. So...I should purchase InDesgin CC and it would do it. So I did....now I have both...and still cannot open old pagemaker files.

When making the PDF I have selected "embed all fonts" (I do not have the "convert to curves" option.) but the fonts are not being converted to curves. When imported all fonts display in Corel as artistic type or are substituted. Is there a way to convert fonts to curves in Pagemaker?

I have 100mhz on each computer, when I start a filter rendering my other computer help the maincomputer with the rendering so I get 200 mhz total.

Photoshop :: Sharing Swatches
May 27, 2008I'm trying to share the Skintones swatch from Illustrator to Photoshop. I selected it, saved it for exchange to the desktop and hit the Load Swatches button on the swatches palette in Photoshop. I get the little spinning Vista thing but that's it. Photoshop looks for .aco and, of course, the swatches are saved as .ase. Changing the file format to include .ase doesn't seem to do anything and the swatches don't show up in the list of libraries.
Is it possible that the skintones swatch is one of the many that CS2 won't share?

Jan 22, 2009when i unload my camera into my catalog adobe photoshop on my user screen my wife is unable to view the pics. is there a way where i can share the pics among everyone?i should say that when she looks on them they have red 'x' on them and can't find the file but if you change to whose ever user screen i downloaded the pcs on they are fine pictures vista

I could most definately have missed some setting that needs changed but don't know which one apparently. I get the message when trying to send a photo email, "Elements 11 organizer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".

Jul 2, 2013I have a desktop (Windows 7) and a laptop (windows 8), both are running Elements 8. I plan to share photos and catalog between them with no duplication of data.
An external harddrive was attached to the desktop, photos were downloaded, a catalog was created, photos were imported - all worked fine.
I detached the ext drive from the desktop and attached it to the laptop with the same drive letter as used on the desktop. The custom location of the catalog was set to point to the catalog on the ext drive. When I tried to open this catalog, I got the message: "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt, or the version is out of date and cannot be updated" I moved the ext drive back to the desktop and it worked OK, as before.
I then set up a working version of elements on the laptop by:
1. Backing up the catalog on the desktop and restoring it to the laptop.
2. Copying the photos from the desktop to the laptop.
3. Reconnecting the photos to the catalog.
Adobe then worked fine on the laptop using the restored catalog.
But, this is not what I want to do. I want to have ONE catalog and ONE set of photos on an ext drive which can be plugged into either computer.

Apr 8, 2013Just returned to PSE after a gap of several versions.I MacBook Pro, two users (both admins) and several cameras. I want one (and only one, at present) catalog that can be accessed by both users of the MacBook so that each user has access to all of the pix
I Installed Elements and added a few photo's to a folder in the root of the hdd, and tinkered a little. Discovered that the auto-created catalog was buried in the user/username path, not appropriate for multiple users, I thought.
So backed up catalog to external drive, then restored it to the folder that I'd previously added the photos to, viz HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog. This works absolutely fine for me, as I set it up.
When the other user starts Elements and goes Catalog Managent and browse to Other Locations: HD/ALL PHOTOS/ and is able to select 'My Catalog' and Open. She then gets the message "The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt or the version is out of date"
Both usaers have R&W permissions. Both users are definately pointing at HD/ALL PHOTOS/My Catalog.

When I select the pictures and click on share to Flickr, none of my pictures appear in the share box to upload. I have tried this multiple ways, with sharing and then selecting the pictures and also by selecting and then sharing to no avail. I currently have a 30 day trial and am not certain if that is the reason why it is not working? I want to make sure that this feature works before I actually buy the program as I am in the process of scanning, editing and uploading 1000s of old photographs for family members. I have the Elements 12 and am using Windows 7.

Finally decided to go to Apple store as desperate now to update my iPad 2 to OS 5. Today spent 3 hrs in Apple store with a Genius (but also PC expert), & even he was unable to get rid of an 'old' installation of Bonjour to enable iTunes update. A final conclusion was that it was linked to Photoshop. Ours is CS4.

Nov 15, 2006I've recently upgraded from Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 to Elements 5.0 with integrated album. Here's my problem.
I have three separate user profiles on my XP computer, and I want to share the same catalog among them all. This was no problem with Album 2.0, however in Elements 5.0 I can't make it work. From each user account I've opened the program, selected "Preferences" and pointed it to the same "my catalog" file and photo directory locations, but it only works from the account from which I installed the Elements package.
Elements seems to be fully available and functional from the other user accounts, but selecting "organize" either gives me the metadata without access to the pictures themselves, or tells me the catalog was created with an earlier version of Album and needs to be converted. In the latter condition, if I allow it to convert it tries for a while then returns an error.
