in Ps5, trying to create mist effect - create layer copy,adjust saturation to -100 and lightness to +100, (image turns completely white),select gradient tool, select BandW linear gradient. I drag the pointer from bottom of image to top, but nothing changes - image still completely white, as if the gradient has not been applied.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.
I save all gradients at:

However it does (mostly) work when I import pre-made (from web) Gradients.
I don't know why this happens but it also did the same thing when I had CS5.5!
Can you remove 3d extrusion once applied in CS6?
I made some nice text, but I would like to remove the 3D without losing the font choices/placement etc..

working with fairly small images, 30 x 20 centimeters ...12 x 8 inches... @ 300 dpi...and want to apply the Canvas Texturiser filter over the image. but when i do the texture comes up as a grid-like tiled surface which looks very unprofessional. i have had a bit of a play with the scaling of the effect in the dialogue window but the tiling effect still comes up. can this be over-ridden so the texture i want can be applied to look like one large canvas texture?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI apply a stroke to one or more images which share a common background. I click on the thumbnail image in a given layer, add a new layer in which I stroke the image. This all works as expected, after I apply the stroke I only see the border but not on all four sides? The layers have all been previously aligned and distributed. If I move the image slightly the border becomes visible on all sides, but the images are no longer aligned.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've wrapped my head around how to reclaim the stripped-out portion of an image that has been non-destructively cropped in CS6: click the image with the crop tool, or select Reveal All from the Image menu. Short of doing this every time I suspect that I may have cropped an image, is there anything in Photoshop's interface to tell me at a glance if the image has been non-destructively cropped? I guess I could check the document dimensions in the pop-up status display at the bottom of the window, but I'm looking for something more direct that doesn't make me search.

1. After I create the watermark, any easy way to apply it to lots of images? As an action? Something else? Is this easier to do in Lightroom?
2. Any style of typography/color that would convey a Mediterranean villa style?
Selected area with eliptical lasso to put on new layer, then rotate horizontally. However, all my other layers rotated as well, even when turned off. What did I do wrong?

Problem: Transform applied to Smart Object cannot be repeated on another target.
"Edit > Transform > Again" fails to transform any target after a Transform is applied to a Smart Object.
Let's say you have two photos - Photo A and Photo B Both Photos are identical in every way, except Photo B had several Color Corrections applied to it. So, in reality, Photo A became Photo B after these Color Corrections were applied.
The question is:
Does Photoshop CS6 have a way to analyze Photo B by comparing it with Photo A, then telling you what Color Corrections were applied, (even if you had not recorded a script)?
With Photoshop CC, when editing a video and adding a "Camera Raw Filter" to some video layer, the effect will be applied only to one frame and not to the whole video layer.
Should it not add that filter to the whole layer (e.g. all frames in that clip)?
When I go to open photos - they are opening in blue-green-purple colors as if a filter is being applied. The color pallette is also appearing with the same blue-purple colors. In the layers pallette - the icon of the image appears in the normal colors and no filters, etc. have been applied. It's all starting from when selecting the photo to be opened in photoshop.

"Issues":
If I adjust paragraph settings, like indents, in one file, those options do not return to default when I start a new file. Thus, I find myself wondering why I have such large gaps between lines of copy or to the left, etc. when I start a new text layer. (This actually happens not only in new files, but in new layers - the latter is slightly more understandable in that it's the same file.)
When a lightbuld goes on for me: "Check your type settings." And, lo-and-behold, there things are: space before or after a paragraph; right or left indents. All settings that used to be cleared when a new file - or a new layer - are opened. This is excruciatingly annoying.If I apply a layer style (e.g., drop shadow) to a shape layer, and then I create another shape layer, the latter one automatically gets all the same style settings applied. That is, the new layer has the all the same layer styles applied to it by default. Meaning, I have to then delete those as they are often not what I intend.
In any case, it used to be that I could choose what I want my own new files and layers to look like, not have previously used settings automatically applied.
I added a uvw map/bitmap image to the material editor. The image shows fine in the material editor but when i apply it to the object which is just a plane it doesn't show it in the viewports.
I clicked on a new material ball, clicked the box next to diffuse, selected bitmap. Opened a jpeg file of the material Im using. It showed uo on the material editor ball. Then when I apply it to my object it just turns grey.
I'd like the viewports to show only the applied textures without any kind of directional lighting but I just can't figure out how to do that.
I removed all lights so the model was pitch black then tried changing the ambient color in the environment panel but it had no affect.
I run the CUI command, and use the command search to find an old macro command that I created a while back. I edit the macro in the right-hand pane and then click APPLY, and then OK to exit the CUI. But the changes that I made are not there - when I run the command in AutoCAD, it executes the old version of the macro.
So I tried it again, only this time I exited out of AutoCAD and re-launched. Still nothing.
This is very strange, because I've been composing and editing macros (attached to toolbar buttons) with CUI for years, and this is the first time I've ever had this problem. But it is worth noting that this is the first time I've tried to do this in our current version of ACAD, which is 2012 vanilla.
I notice a rather strange behaviour in Lightroom 4.3 in the Develop module: it appears that the Develop preview ("zoom to fit" setting, I guess that's what 99% of people are using when using the global adjustments) is only updated when moving the mouse pointer AWAY from the slider that controls the adjustment (it doesn't matter if it's Clarity, or Highlights, Shadows, whatever).
I happen to often click somewhere on the sliders range, say somewhere in the middle between 0 and +100, to get an idea what a Clarity ~50 might look like. If I keep the mouse pointer hovering over the knob, the Develop preview will look pixelized/blocky, and not update to a more refined preview.
Only if I move the mouse pointer AWAY, the preview will be updated. It's as if the rendering is delayed until you're really sure you want that setting, perhaps to improve responsiveness/performance? This didn't happen in LR 4.2.
I tried this with a NEW catalog and only imported something like 100 photos to it, and no plugins - the behavior stays the same. I uninstalled the latest AMD/Catalyst graphics driver and let Windows 7 (64bit) "fall back" to a default driver - again, behavior stays the same.
This really doesn't qualify as a tutorial, rather it's a reminder that various effects (including distortions) can be applied to masks to achieve interesting results.

1. Make an elliptical selection, re-position it as necessary, and feather it by 20px.

The combination of the polished stone and ripple effects works nicely here, since the final effect is similar to the loose strands of her hair style.
I used the KPT Collection's KPT Noize effect to create a nebulous background and added a yellow-to-blue gradient layer above it (set to "Multiply" mode); and a bevel layer style to the text, reducing the kerning after the capital J's to -50. I also applied the Smart Photo Fix to the original photo, reducing the brightness slightly.

when I use publish to pdf with bitmap downsample image in cdr file deleted in pdf file. I am using Coreldraw X6 and another problem is that I have checked preserve pure black in color management. but i noticed that r0b0g0 in rgb bitmap also converted into Black100.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan a filter be applied to just part of clip instead of the whole clip? I mean a way to easily adjust when a filter starts during the clip and when it ends. I'm not interested in anything involving splitting a clip because you really can't try out different start and end times simply this way. I thought about doing it by adding keyframes, but the few filters I've tried can't be turned off completely and leave residual effects that can be seen.
There's an editing feature in AVS Video Converter and you add effects to a video clip on a separate timeline just below the video timeline, and it's easy to move the effect on the timeline and you can change the length of the effect by dragging the ends. Is there something similar in Videostudio?
I have a problem with scaling and rotation when I apply one tag coming from palette tool. I use ACA 2013 METRIC and this problem did not exist in 2012.
I attached a file to do the test. Drag the tag to your tool palettes in space and try to apply the design to see the problem.
I was following a digital tutors tutorials mudox to maya creating facial expression. im trying to add my blendshapes manually how they did it in the video by applying the blendshape to a group but its not working at all. i get a error message that says blendshapes cant be applied to groups. how were they doing this this in the video.
