I have a bunch of images which need to be resized - all to 300x195 px at 300 dpi in .jpeg formatAll the images are of different sizes in their original form.While resizing, there should be no distortion. The scaling needs to be in proportion.While saving the resized, all the images should be saved using the same naming convention. Here's how I am doing it...
1. New Blank document - 300x195px, 300dpi & RGB mode.
2. Drag all the images into the blank document, and middle-align each layer.
3. Resize each layer individually while holding Shift+Alt to do it proportionately.
4. Save each layer seperately as a .jpeg using the naming convention required.

Nov 18, 2006I'm doing some work in photoshop, well, more like fooling around with Photoshop. But when I'm all done with a picture, save it as Jpg and upload the image, its about 25%-50% smaller then what the original psd is ....

Jan 12, 2013I've been using Photoshop for my Photography for quite a long time and I have recently upgraded to Photoshop CS6. Whenever I resize my images in CS6, I get the feel (from looking at the images) that the application has autosharpened my images! I am quite sure about that effect because my resizing principles have remained the same since using CS5. And in CS5, whenever I resized to that same size I am resizing in CS6, I used to run the Unsharp Mask Filter to get my images look at their best! So there must be something going under the hood in CS6, or am I missing something obvious? Basically, I want to be in total control as to how much sharpness I want to apply to my resized images!

Nov 8, 2012I manage a website and I have to resize bundles of images frequently. I find it a problem in Paint Shop Pro X5 that every time I resize an image it shows as a tiny thumbnail. This causes me to go to the 'view' toolbar and then from the dropdown box have to click 'zoom to 100%'
How do I format PSP X5 to automatically show resized images at 100%?
Photoshop :: Text Box Has Not Been Resized
Jan 30, 2013We have recently upgraded from Photoshop CS4 to CS6.When I select a text layer, from the Layer Panel, with a font size of 10pt, but if I select the type itself (edit mode) it shows as 8.63pt.Intrestingly the Info Panel shows width/hight to be 115.8%.
The text box has not been resized at any point and the document was created in CS4.
Photoshop :: Printing Resized Image
Dec 2, 2006I have version 8 cs.
I have resized a photo to 406 x 305mm with the image size & canvas size dialogue box set correctly, but when I print the image it comes out as 240 x 170mm.
I have tried every printing option to get the correct print, but it just aint happening.
I have tried scaled to fit media (on & off), custom printing size, a3 printing size.
Photoshop :: Image Resized Upon Reopen
Jun 2, 2008In Photoshop CS3, I crop or use the Image Size to get, say a 5"x7" image at 300 dpi. Then I do a "save as" as a jpeg image. Then I re-open it and it's not 5x7. Instead it's 8.75" x 6.25". When I look at Image Size again on this new, previously saved file, it displays 8.75" x 6.25" at 240 dpi.
I uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop CS3. I looked at my preferences to ensure it was displaying in inches and not centimeters. It is.
One thing to note is that this once worked and now it does not. I'm running with version 10.0 on Windows XP.

Feb 27, 2013Bit of a strange one, this. In Photoshop CS6, whenever I create a smart object with the intention of resizing it, whenever I shrink it, where one flat colour collides with another, it creates a really ugly "bleed" effect -- kind of the same effect you get when you take a small image and try to make it larger:
I've zoomed in on this particular part to show just how bad it looks. Particularly on the upper part of the forearm, see how it's got a sort of white "halo" before the black outline? It now looks like I drew a slightly darker outline around all the levels of shading, and it looks really bad, almost like a raised/chiselled effect.
Obviously it's not as noticeable when you zoom out, but it's definitely there. I've noticed that the same thing happens when I just resize the whole image using "bicubic automatic", but when I select "bicubic / anything else", the bleed does not occur. It kind of makes the once-incredibly-useful smart object tool kind of pointless now.
This never happened with any other prior version of Photoshop which had smart objects, and I've only just got hold of CS6 a few days ago.

Jan 13, 2009I was wondering why screen captures in Windows look so bad when resized smaller in PS (or other image apps). I'm trying to create a user guide and the images are fine when pasted into PS but look blurred when I use the transform tool to reduce their size (or resize image). I thought images got more defined when smaller?!
Side question: why does the arial font in Windows apps like outlook, office etc not look the same when typed in PS?

Created layers of vector artCombined them into a smart object. Enlarged the smart object (both via "Transform" and "Image Size") Upon enlarging, the vector objects look the way an enlarged bitmap would (i.e. fuzzy, pixelated, terrible) instead of crisp and clean as a vector should look. I've double- and triple-checked to make sure all layers have remained vector after resizing and they have.
This is a terrible inconvenience for anyone that works heavily with vector smart objects and resizes them. I use this workflow on a daily basis to make adapting interface elements for various screen resolutions easier, without it I am beyond screwed.

Feb 24, 2012I want to re size them based on document sized in 'inches' to be set by resolution say for example: If the width or height is less than 4.72 inch the image resolution should be 150dpi; if the width or height is less than 1.33 inch the image resolution should be 300dpi; and the last one if the width or height is greater than 4.72 inch the image resolution should be 75dpi.

Maya :: Allow FormLayout To Be Resized?
Nov 10, 2011It seems that the use of the formLayout UI element prevents a window from being resized smaller than the properties provided in the layout.
In earlier versions of Maya this was not the case, and the use of formLayout could be resized to any arbitrary size along with the rest of the UI elements. Are there any workarounds to allow the formLayout to have this previous version behaviour?

The window example can be scaled down to any size, but the formLayout cannot. Setting the sizeable flag on the window does not allow the formLayout to be sizable, and there does not appear to be a sizeable flag for the formLayout.

Oct 17, 2013I'm working on a print document and do not understand the behavior of Designer Pro X9 concerning image optimizing. When I drag an image from explorer onto my document, I'm being prompted (as expected) to decide, whether I want to import the original size image or a resized version. Choosing the high resolution version gives me the full size bitmap to work with on my page.
But as soon as I drag the same image from the bitmap gallery onto my page, I get a downsized version of 1920 x 1280 pixels, which also immediately appears as a copy in the bitmap gallery. Why this happens and if and where I can prevent X9 from doing this?

Now I have the full resolution versions of the clips.
I thought I could drop the Batch set-up onto the new clips and then do an Apply & Scale to the Action nodes inside Batch. But that doesn't seem to work. At least from what I can see, all my gmasks are in the place they'd be if the footage were still smaller?

Jul 12, 2013On my PC running Windows Vista Ultimate with an Nvidia GEForce GT 545 video adapter, when I attempt to resize the Open File window in CorelDraw X5 to see more of the file information, the window starts rapidly flashing and opens a stack of same window. System response is slowed when trying to close or cancel the window, and it will display "Not Responding" for several seconds before it clears. CorelDraw X5 itself also has trouble closing. I repeated this 3 times and had the same thing happen, so it is not a random event. Not sure whether it is CorelDraw conflicting with the Nvidia driver or something else. The only workaround I found was to use Windows Explorer to view the additional file information, such as date modified or other metadata.

Mar 17, 2013I'm working on some images that have very specific colors. It can be 1000 colors or 5000.
When I resample the image, I would like to keep the colors. So if I have one pixel being e5d900 and a pixel next to it is 00a5d3, resampling the image will pick one of the colors and not something between.. or a color of the 1000 or 5000 that are on the color palette.

Jun 3, 2013I would like to know whether Corel Draw can fill a shape with another shape or object/icon so that it gets scaled to the shape size. As in this picture: [URL] ...
As you see the shape is a text/font and it's filled with diamonds (it's not simply following a path). If it's not handmade I assume the automatism works like that: there is only 1 diamond = the object, and the object gets duplicated through the entire shape and resized so it fits.
It appears Adobe Illustrator cannot do this automatically, see: [URL] ... (there's another example in the first post), can Corel Draw? I don't have Corel Draw. I am just looking for a program capable of doing it automatically.
Paint.NET :: Cropped-resized Image Being Automatically Saved As Oil Painting?
Dec 4, 2013I have been using paint.net for a couple of years to resize photos for work purposes with no problems. All of a sudden two days ago the photos I resized or cropped started saving as oil paintings. I didn't click on the oil painting effect and I haven't changed anything that I am aware of. I've been going through everything I can think of and even uninstalled and reinstalled the program trying to get rid of this weird default change. I can't figure out how to change it back to normal.

Typically, if I have an image too big for it's intended use, I'd adjust the zoom until I get it to appear the right size, then resize it to the zoom level. (I imagine many people do the same thing). However, after resizing, the view of the image is really tiny, since the old zoom level is now being applied to the smaller image.
Lightroom :: Export Resized Photos As New Catalog With Keyword Hierarchy
Dec 31, 2013I want a new catalog with small jpgs and the hierarchical keywords. But I seem to be able to get each part of that individually but I can't seem to get them all at the same time.
If I select images and export them with "Write Keywords as Lightroom Hierarchy" checked, then import those new jpgs into a new catalog, my keywords are a flat list without the hierarchy. I tried exporting my keyword hierarchy as *.txt then importing it into an empty catalog so the hierarchy already existed. When I imported the new jpgs into that catalog, the keywords still came in as a flat list appended to the hierarchical keyword list.
I tried selecting the images and importing as a new catalog, which gives me a new catalog, but the new catalog has the original raw images.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: Leaving Copy Of Original Image When Resized?
Jul 8, 2012I'm using Corel Draw 12 and on some of my computers, if I resize or flip an image the original image remains on screen as well as the resized or flipped version. On other computers it doesn't happen.
