Running Photoshop CS3 ( Yes, I know I should be shot for using an old version...) and I have a photo of our ferry boat, that I use and place as a layer in our advertising. The image has a bluish tint, due to the surrounding water. On the boat we do have some decals/paintings (of course they are blue also....).
How can I get the white portions of the boat to be whiter, while leaving the other elements the same?
I keep getting this error message (see below) whenever I try to make jpegs from my layer comps using File-->Scripts-->Layer Comps from Files. This error always comes up after Photoshop gets through 2 or 3 comps. I often have to select only a few layer comps at a time to get it to make jpegs. I recently upgraded to Photoshop CS6.
Here is the message I get:
Error: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop. The object “layer comp 2054478963” is not currently available.
Why is it that if i change the "lighting angle" for Layer A in Photoshop Elements 10 it changes it for all my layers?
is this a bug?
I want to have a workspace specifically for pixel art, and do not want to have to reset all of the general preferences when I want to create a pixel art file. Is there a way to save the general settings?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've just started working with CS2, and I've noticed some quirks. I can't put my finger on it, but whenever I'm working on web layouts everything I do seems to have a strange aliasing / artifacting going on. I thought it was just my imagination, but then when I was out at the bar with a good friend of mine that's a designer, he mentioned that he'd seen the same problem and moved back to CS. Although it was annoying, I wasn't prepared to take that leap until I was working on a project yesterday and copying an area of solid color (#EEEEEE) into a new image created a dithered effect in the new image. There's absolutely no reason that it should have made any changes to the numbers, but it did. Is this some new function that's supposedly going to help photographers that is getting in my way? Now, I know that Photoshop has not always been the most accurate when working with solid colors and pixelated imagery, etc., but it has always worked really well for the work that I do. There's definitely a difference with CS2, but I really can't put my finger on it. For now, I'm back to working on CS, which is really unfortunate, because I love some of the new interface tweaks that Adobe has made.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm completely new to Photoshop (only started yesterday), but I've been playing with it and it's fun. My problem is that I've tried creating a picture, but the clouds I made don't exactly look much like clouds.
What I did to make them was to render clouds, then adjust levels to create cloud shapes, and transformed perspective. Then I set it to 25% opacity against a red/orange background. However, as you can see, there are no shadows on the clouds, and it looks kind of bad in general.
My question is: how would I go about shading the clouds? And if the clouds are extremely bad, how would I go about making more believable ones?
Also, is there anything else about my picture that I can/should improve?
When one decides to edit a photograph what do people use as a rule of thumb to know what to do 1st.Assuming one will change contrast, do something to the color, enlarge a photo, use onOne software to create a frame, delete a wire etc.

I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. Also you can't save favorite locations?
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing autocad 2011 i have Plot transparency checked, i see an image transparent in Preview window but after plotting the pdf is not transparent... using PDF Creator is not problem, dont understand what is happen.
Apart from that, im increasinf Raster dpi to 4800dpi in Custom properties of DWGtoDPF printer and the image quality is more than bad, the file size is same as with default settings for the printer...?¿ For vector cant say the same, the quality is fantastic.
should i use PDF creator, CutePDF or another app to generate my pdfs?
I want to save settings that i set in the Options dialog box and, for example, to hide the ViewCube and to cancel the grid.
Every time i start Autocad i have to hide the Cube.
In the Profiles i understand i can only save file list and paths.
i was curious as to which sharpening/color correction techniques this photographer used to result in such a perfect photo. more specifically, i'd love to learn how he managed to make the blue halter strap almost shimmer and pop out of the image and his face a beautiful, warm and rich coffee color.
i attempted to recreate his enhanced image with the original, but fell slightly short in a few areas. i did eventually manage to get a similar look by simply adjusting input levels and sharpness, but had the toughest time making his head and all the fine details on it really "pop" AND "glow".
i basically increased the black input levels a bit to saturate and bring life to the image, but that resulted in the face and halter also darkening.

I am using Civil 3D 2012. I am executing the reports General_Legal_Description_for_Alignments and _for_Parcels.
Through some research I was able to figure out where to adjust the precision. I was also able to learn that editing GeneralLegalPhrasings.XML is where I would format the wording.
But, the changes I make to GeneralLegalPhrasings.XML are not being reflected in the reports generated.
For example, Civil 3D defaults a line course to something like this: Thence N DEG MIN SEC E a distance of X.XX feet.
I edited all the mete type = "line" to read as follows: N DEG MIN SEC E, X.XX feet, thence
Here is an example of one of the lines: <Mete type="Point" connect="Line">{lineDirection}, {lineDistanceFoot} feet, thence </Mete>
They all look like this, except the type and connect values change.
But there is no change in the output.
Is there any way to change the general overall appearance of PRO X4 from black to white? I have visual problems and find it difficult to see the colors against a black background. I have looked at the preferences section and can not see where I can do this.

After I realized there are too many parts and assemblies in the GA to reasonably place on a drawing. Now I want to remove some parts and create sub-assemblies. Is there an easy proceedure to select some parts in the GA and insert them into a new sub-assembly and (hopefully) keep the constraints intact?

I was wondering if it is possible to use an expression in a general note label? The type of label I am using is a general note label that displays our finish grade profile elevation in plan view. What I am trying to do is add a value to that label for the TC elevation and G at the ROW. I noticed in the settings tab of the tool space, surfaces has an expression button that has what I want but I am not seeing that under General/Label Styels/Note. Is it possible to right my own expression? We are using Civil 3D 2008 with Windows XP.

I originally thought it was an issue with 2014 but 2013 isn't working either (and I know it was working in the past).
The only thing I can think of is my computer recently upgraded to IE10. Could that be it?

i have a folder with about 100 jpg files in it that i want to apply a general brightness contrast setting to.
Using the main interface to do each one I would need to go to Tools > Colour > Brightness Contrast and set a Brightness value of 16 and leave the contrast at 0
What i would like to do obvious is to run a batch command to do this operation on all files in a folder
I've tried guessing at a few command lines to do it but all have failed and basically how to do it.
I am using Rel. 2012. I would like to hear what some of the practices are regarding a general note used on multiple plan sheets. What I have is a plan set with 150 sheets. On each sheet a general note is required that likely will be revised by agencies reviewing the plans. Currently I have a base cadd file with the note and I x-ref that drawing into each sheet.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI cannot edit a dimension that I add to a drawing, IV simply ignores my request when I select Edit from the shortcut menu. This is not a retrieved dimension. My only workaround has been to edit the dimension properties in the part file to display as I would like on the drawings.
I've checked the application options, under Drawing tab, I do have "Edit dimension when created" checked, yet IV does not display the edit dialogue box upon initial creation of the dimension.
How can I display iPart parameters in an iAssembly general table?
On my .dwg I would like to use one detail with a table. The 2 table columns I need are:
(1) iAssembly name (no problems here, shows up in the general table by default)
(2) Length (this parameter value is in the iPart)

We use STB plot style tables for all of our drawings. I have several general note styles setup in Civil 3D 2012. When you pull the note text out so that you have a leader, the leader does not plot per the plot style assigned to the layer that the note is set to display on on the General tab. It appears as the proper color and freezes with the layer properly, but it plots with the settings of the plot style assigned to layer 0. Is there a reason that the leaders don't use the plot style setting form the layer it is displayed on?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am close to getting my general legal the way i want. The only thing i hope to change now is the way the bearing is shown. it currently spits out as 89degrees 50minutes 50seconds. I simply want to add a space between the number and callout.
Example:
89 degrees 50 minutes 50 seconds.
I cant seem to find this setting.
Using RMB to Copy a general table from one drawing & RMB paste to another has no result.
But using the CTRL + C & CTRL + V for the identical task works fine.
Looks like a bug. It's annoying at worst but hopefully easy for programmers to fix.
Inventor Suite 2013 Ultimate
I am not a regular user of the Inventor General Table. I can make and edit the table with no problems. I want to eliminate the lines from one of the columns while leaving the lines in the remaining columns. I tried to set up the column before inserting it but could not find the column format that would allow me to do that in the Style Editor.
How to do this. I need to also remove the (read only) from the Style Editor.

I don't want to suggest anything, but I've read a similar topic (about 3dsMax 9), and the "victim" has been told he has a wrong kind of graphic card, a so-called "gaming card", not a "workstation" one. I might sound as a total noob, and I probably am one, but, all this time I have a PC, I've never heard about two separate kinds of cards, and necessity to having a separate one for playing games and a separate one for designing them sounds really weird to me... But can it be the reason of my problems as well? And if it is indeed, is replacing the graphic card in my laptop sufficient to solve them?
I have an IPart with about 100 instances in it that is sheet metal. I created a user parameter for the gauge of the sheet metal relating to the thickness and that works fine in the ipart. My dilema is how to get the gauge to show up in my drawing in the general table. Pretty much I woud like the table to list part number, material and then have a column for the gauge of the steel related to the thickness in the Ipart table. I am using Inventor 2011 if that makes a difference.
