Aug 13, 2005I have PS 7 and was wondering if there was a way to utilize fonts I have downloaded without having to install them on my hard drive thru Windows. I used a different graphics program in the past and with it you could open Font Thing, select a font, then go back to the program and use it without having to install in. It does not work with PS. I have so many font's, if I installed them all I would have to scroll forever to find them and clog my system down. And the good thing about Font Thing, is you can type what you want and see how it will look before you use it.

I haven't used one up until yesterday. I figured it was a good time to get one after i realised that i had 1800 fonts installed.
if you use one, which one? why? what do you like and dislike about it?
do you have any suggestions for one? why?
i downloaded suitcase (for windows). it seems to work well however, it just doesn't seem "flashy" (if that word makes any sense) enough for the price tag. Extensis Website

Photoshop :: Missing Fonts But Exist In A Font Manager
Apr 10, 2013I have linotype and i often type things in and scroll thru to see what font looks best. However, There are are a lot of fonts that are not available to PS cs5. Some of these fonts have Adobe at the design of their manes. They did not exist previous to me installing PS so i figure these are specifically made by Adobe fonts.
So why are these fonts not available in PS? Do i need a better font manager?

Dec 11, 2012I installed ACAD LT 2011 in my new HP Win7 computer, and the font in the Layer Properties Manager box is so large that it is unreadable. I have attached a file showing a 'print screen'. I need directions on how to put the text back to normal size. I had no problems with this program in my old Dell computer.

Bitstream font manager will not open. I have un-installed it, reinstalled it, uninstalled the complete suite and then reinstalled it. Was there not an issue last year with a Microsoft Security update that disabled Type1 fonts, but I'm sure Bitsream did still work. Today I had an update for "Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer" but I restored XP before today's update to try and eliminate that as being the problem. Last week I had problems with "User Profiles" being corrupted (no cdr files were listed that I could see) due to overheating hard drives but that was sorted out and everything has been fine untill today.

Sep 24, 2013After opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

May 30, 2012I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.

For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

Apr 3, 2008I would like to be able to save my session in Photoshop much like I can with the workspace.
With a session manager, I will be able to save and load all the open canvases in one go.
So, for instance, if I wanted to continue my work next time I open Photoshop, I will be able to load the previous session -- this will open all the canvas windows and their exact placement in the main Photoshop window.
How can I accomplish this? Are the scripts advanced enough to implement new menu's and trigger such actions (maybe I am being too hopeful, here)?
With functionality, an intuitive design, and ease of use being some of the top priorities in applications these days, I am hopeful that Adobe can at least implement this next time around.
Perhaps I am just missing the option? Is such a feature available?

Aug 10, 2013The CC Application Manager was inviting me to install apps that were happily residing and working on my system, which concerned me because I would not be informed about updates for those apps. I just got the answer from the CC forum. I had changed the language from English (North American) to English (International) in some instances, and that was enough for the AAM to think those apps were for a different user. Photoshop :: Cs6 - Adobe Extension Manager
Apr 25, 2013This afternoon, from Photoshop CS6, I purchased and extension through Adobe extension drop down menu called EDGE FX. It will not install. As I attempt to do so, it does not list the Photoshop product (only Illustrator, Flash, Premiere, etc).
Here are some screen shots of the dialog boxes I copied. How do I manage to get this downloaded into Photoshop? Note in the last of the three screenshots, Photoshop doesn't appear as an option. I went into manager and a drop down menu doesn't give that option either. However, the description of the extension describes it as a tool to add interesting boarders to photos. Therefore, it must be a Photoshop extension.
