Photoshop Elements :: How To Rotate Brushes Not Flip
Aug 9, 2013
I've looked everywhere! I understand I can rotate but I need to flip it horizontally! Which I can't do! I looked all over for the y axis and x axis way to flip but it doesn't show! I've been on the internet for hours trying to figure this out! All I learned was how to rotate, not flip

I was workin on my new Avatar, and was on a layer in which I wanted to rotate the image by 180 degrees. For the life of me I searched through PS:CS's menu and couldn't find a rotate command!
There was ROTATE CANVAS, but that rotated the entire image. I had to end up increasing the window of the document and pressing CTRL + T for a free transform. Is there a:
Flip Image Vertically
Flip Image Horizontally
command?

Is there any third party brush or liquify tools ? I want to be able to rotate my brushes with a keyboard short-cut rather then always having to access the panel in Ps, I feel like the cookie monster with too much sugar looking around all the time, while trying to work effectively.

Please take a look at the attached dynamic block.
I have two flips in there, one verticle, one horizontal. For some reason, whenever I tell it to flip, and then select everything in the block, it doesn't flip the other flip's arrow.
Then, when I created the second arrow, and went back to include the first flip in the second flip's Action Selection Set, it doesn't pick it up. Doesn't matter if I do "modify selection set" or "new selection set"... doesn't matter if I select everything within (blue box) or everything that touches (green box).
Yet, when I highlight the icon box, it shows everything is selected.
Can flips not flip other flips?
Additionally, I want the rotation parameter to flip on the horizontal flip (so it stays outside the block), but I can't get that into the selection either.
What am I missing with these selection parameters?

I'm searching for the "rotate view" tool in my trial version of PS Elements 11. Or some other convenient way to freely turn the canvas, allowing me to draw with my tablet comfortably.I want to rotate the image as a whole, without actually rotating/changing the picture, as you would rotate a sheet of paper. So no transformation. Is this compass-looking tool I've seen people use Photoshop-exclusive and not part of Elements?

I use bird brushes a lot but have a lot of problems rotating them..What is the best way to rotate a brush tool...an example would be a bird brush or a swirl, in Elements 10. When the angle circle comes up unfortunately that box cannot be moved out of the way so I can see what I am doing.

My brushes suddenly won't work at 100% opacity. The opacity will change if I change the slider but never actually reaches 100%. For instance if I'm using red one click will get me pink like I'm at 20% opacity, it will get darker as I increase the opacity slider but never quite reaches 100%. At 100% it is still a shade of pink.I have to click like 10 times to get it red. Everything else works fine, pencil, eraser, etc. I have checked all my settings and can't figure it out.

I am using a trial download of PSE11, and find that some of the functions [that I have been using for many years on several iterations of PSE] are greyed out and not usuable. Is that becuase I haveatrial edition? I want ot use custom rotate to straghten a photo, and "straighten image" is not enough. Why can't I access "custom rotate"?

I am looking for a list of brushes & custom shapes that were added or removed in the last four versions of Photoshop Elements. (v8-v11) I have already tried a Google search, which resulted in nothing. Before I spend hours making my own list, maybe Adobe has a list they can share or perhaps someone else has already taken the time to compile their own list.I am needing the information to cross reference as part of our teaching program.

I have a floorplan of a building and am labeling exits of the building for evacuation routes. Each exit label is on its own layer. I need to show the floor plan from different perspectives/orientations and therefore need to rotate the exit labels in place on their own individual axis. So far I have been going in and selecting the image (label) on each layer and rotating it 90 degrees and then repeating the process for the next label. When I group the layers they all rotate on one axis and therefore are not near the exit they are supposed to be near. Is there an easier (quicker) way to rotate the labels as I have to do this for four different perspective for each of four floor plans?

I am interested in grouping and sorting brushes according to size, shape, whatever.
Right now when I add a brush library, they just stack on top of one another.
For example let's say I have a round brush with a 10 diameter, then next to it a round brush with a 20 diameter. If I make a 15, it goes to the bottom of the list, and I have to scroll all around. How can I group them?
I suspect I would have to make my own brush library with my brushes how I want them, then save that and load it?

I'm in need of fitting 10 groups on a document so that all 10 groups take up the least amount of space. To do that some of the groups need to be rotated when doing this manually. Is there a way for Illustrator to do this automatically? Ditributing and rotating several groups to take up less space on a given document size?
