Dec 22, 2012How do I eliminate vertical streaks in a printed picture?
View 3 RepliesHow do I eliminate vertical streaks in a printed picture?
View 3 RepliesIf I import the files from the camera disk directly into LR4, I sometimes get vertical streaks on the preview images.
Yet if I go to develop mode, the picture loses its streaks by merely entering and exiting crop mode without changing the image size.
If I import them from the pictures folder after they were imported through another program, I haven't had any issues. Go figure!
What is the easiest way of removing brown lines/streaks from pic. I've attached a sample of the image I need to remove the streaks from.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have vertical lines spaced at 1/2 inch in my printed pictures and would like to get rid of them. It happens with Photoshop CS-6 but not with Microsoft Photo Editor. I'm using a HP Officejet 6500A Plus and the color printing is fine.
Additional info: I am using Windows 7 on a Dell. Service pack 1, 32 bit system.
It happens with pdf files, jpeg, and psd. I am managing colors with the printer. I am using best quality printing. I have tried Color Smart and Adobe settings for RGB on the printer dialog page. I have tried telling the printer that I am using HP premium plus, plain paper and Other photo papers (My paper is actually Staples high gloss photo supreme).
What is remarkable to me is that I get high quality prints with the same printer, same paper, same settings using Microsoft Photo Editor - no vertical lines at all. However MPE is not very versatile, and the pdf I am currently trying to print will not load onto MPE.
When I create a picture with my (Nikon) camera in the TIFF format, it appears that the picture file contains in addition to the full blown picture, a reduced version of the picture, something like a large thumbnail vrsion of the picture. I found it by trying to create a PDF file of the .TIFF file - Acrobat created a two page file, one with the full picture and one with the reduced picture. It looks that I can't tell the camera not to embbed the thumbnail version.
how to eliminate that thumbnail version from the .TIFF file. Must be somewhere (hopfully one) location in the file that when modifying it it eliminates the thumbnail picture from Acrobat's view into the .TIFF file.
As to the question why not simply erase that undesired page from the PDF file - the answer is that I actually going to assemble many (hundreds) such pictures into one PDF file. Acrobat will put all those pictures such that each main picture will be followed by its own thumbnail and therefore I will have to select manually each single thumbnail page before erasing them, extremely tedious. If I could process it at the individual .TIFF file as describrd above, I could easily write a program that does this modification to all my .TIFF files with one invokation.
I have been using Elements 8 for some time and recently purchased an ASUS monitor that is at home in both vertical and horizontal modes. Can I change the Elements 8 format to work in a vertical format to accommodate the larger size possible with a vertical image. It is difficult to manipulate the functions in Elements when the mouse is working in a horizontal mode and you are viewing a large image in a vertical format. If the format of the Elements 8 software can be changes to vertical, any protocol (directions) to accomplish this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI run MacOS 10.9, Lightroom 5.3 and I print on an Epson R3000.
The first problem I had was that the images was printed on just a small part of the paper and it cut the images. I have attached a picture showing this. I totally reinstalled my computer and now it looks like that problem is gone (for now at least). But now the images are printed but much smaller than the paper I specify. If I specify A3+ I get something close to A4. Borderless printing on 6*4 looks to be working as it should but that's the only I managed to print so far.
I tested printing from Photoshop 5.1 and that worked fine.

View 2 Replies View Related1 have a PC (XP 32 bits with PhotoShop Element. V1.0) I have another PC (W7 64bits) with PhotoShop V10. I have a color laser printer Brother CN4040. All these advices are connected with Ethernet.
I have a problem with the colors when I print some JPG pictures with this printer only when I use the PC (W7 64 bits with PhotoShop V10). For example, a picture with blue/purple at the screens prints like brown. I precise that printed with the XP PC, all the time, the colors are true (blue/purple). The 3 toner cartridges are new. Before I bought PSE 10, I had the same problem with PSE 1.0 on the PC (W7). I tried many printing settings on the PSE (W7) without success. The color pictures seems OK at the 2 screens.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve seen a lot of this type of graphics pop up everywhere for sometime now. And i know from the animated clips that a lot of it is done in 3d. But if i were to create it in PS as a still frame, how do you go about making it look the way it does? I can imagine you could do it by creating lines and making copies of it and varying each a little bit, add some color overlays etc etc. And then there is the motion blur effect theyve got on it. Not sure how to go about that, but overall that looks like a lot of hard manual labour.
