View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a D3000 and PSE9 and at one time my NEF files would open with the raw dialog box. Now they only open in the normal editor. How do I get my raw dialog back?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have loaded about 10 pictures in the editor of elements 10. I want to save them to an sd card. When I try to do that it tries to save all of my pictures instead.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have PSE 10 and I recently decided to start some shooting in RAW. However, when I open my photos( I have a Canon Rebel T2i so the file extension is .CR2), it says, "processing Camera RAW file" and then opens the photo in the full edit mode instead of the Camera RAW dialog box. I checked my plug-in, and I have version 6.7 of the Camera RAW plug in. I'd really like to start working with Camera RAW! Oh, and I am working abroad for a couple months and do not have my installation disks with me, so uninstalling and re-installing PSE is not an option.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS5 and when I save for the web, my saves are extremely contrasty. When I save normally they are fine. I have tried every setting I can find in the Save for Web dialog box.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthe Print Dialog simply will not show up so I can adjust the ICC profiles etc.I have CS6 Upgrade installed (upgraded from CS5) and running on a Windows 8 PC.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my print dialog/preview box is not showing in my PS CS6. Everytime I try to print I get an error message saying: There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and re-opened document.
I see no place to pick a printer as there is no longer a dialog box. All other programs on my network have no problem with choosing a network printer.
I've a question regarding the Print dialog that states "Needs Calibration" just below the drop down for selecting printers. The selected printer is a HP Photosmart C7180 and PS CS5.5.
What calibration PS is refering to? I've tried the built in pen and color adjustment on the printer but that operation does not seems to be of interest by PS.
ok my question is, when i save my work the Save Window pops up but is half way off the screen. i can't press the OK Button to save because that half is off the sceen.
How can i bring down the Save Menu so I can press OK BUTTON to save my work.
I already registered, but the register dialog comes up everytime I run photoshop.
Clicking do not register doesn't help. Next time I start photoshop the same dialog comes up again.
How do I get rid of this?
CS2 on vista
I remember back in CS3 we had the option to use the Adobe dialog for Saving and Opening files. On CS4 I don't have this feature anymore. Was it included or do I need to change a setting?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have tried to create Actions that involve creating a new file for use as a displacement map. When you copy your original then hit cmd+N (ctrl+N in his case), the NEW picture dialog comes up with the size of the new document preset to be the same size as the picture in the clipboard.
The problem is that the Action records that size as the new document size, instead of getting a new value from the clipboard every time. That creates problems when running the action on a cropped or non-standard sized originals. The 'NEW' dialog box should include, in addition to the many preset sizes, a CLIPBOARD option that would be scriptable.
If I open Photoshop CS3 I am able to drag an image from a Windows Vista folder into the Photoshop window and the image opens in Photoshop.
If I go into the open Dialog Box within Photoshop and select an Image I cannot drag the image into the main Photoshop window I must click on the "open" button.
I have a photographer friend who says he use to be able to work this way and for some reason it no longer works. I suspect he is wrong.
Is this normal or is something not working correctly.
3D problem. When trying to initiate a 3D function in Photoshop CC all I get is the preferences dialog box. Nothing appears to be out of place in the prefs, OpenCL is active as is the GPU. My system is Windows 7, i7 6 core CPU, dual GeForce GTX590 GPUs (3gb of ram each) and 32gb of system ram. Scratch disk has more than 500gb of free space.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday, after accidentally exporting a file as a TIFF the options dialog box for TGA files no longer appears.
Which means my workflow has come to an absolute and complete stop since I can no longer export proper 32-bit TGA files that are required for import into other software.
I've deleted all the preferences inside ~/Library/Preferences though that did not fix it.
I use CS6 on a system that utilities two monitors. To maximize the amount of screen on Monitor 1 used for viewing my photos, I have arranged the workspace so that my history, actions and other panels are on Monitor 2.
However, whenever I open a window, for example Image->Adjustments, it always opens the window or dialog/settings box on Monitor 1, over the top of the photo that I'm trying to edit. I then have to drag the window across to Monitor 2 manually before making the necessary adjustments.
Upon shutting down the window and then performing another adjustment, the new window doesn't 'remember' that I had last shut it down on Monitor 2, and it opens on Monitor 1 again.
Is there any way of getting CS6 to open these windows and dialog boxes on Monitor 2 by default?
Whenever I save something as a PNG, Photoshop asks if I want to save it in interlaced format. Is there a way to set a default for that so it doesn't ask me every flippin' time?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is happening intermittently, most often after flattening a multi-layer image converting to 8-bit then trying to save as a jpeg, the error occurs as various points during the "save as" dialog. When I installed a 3rd party plugin (correctly installed and up-to-date NIK collection) the error occurred more or less on every "save as". I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I've tried resetting prefs and I've removed the 3rd party plugins and I'm back to crashing about 30% of the times I use "save as"
When the error occurs It appears to have an event 1000 in the event log. I've copied the "system info" and one of the crash report texts below:
System info:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.0 (14.0 20130423.r.221 2013/04/23:23:00:00) x64
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

In CS5 is there any way to have the Curves Layer Dialog revert back to the old standard interface? When you click Image/Adjustments/Curves you get the standard interface. But when you create a curves adjustment layer you get a horrible new interface, which has been "improved" to the point of being totally useless.
I recently upgraded from CS3, mainly to get the latest ACR to work with a newer camera's RAW files. I use curve layers extensively and have spent a lot of time with CS5, but the new curves layer interface is so incredibly difficult and exasperating that I have now reinstalled CS3 and use it for all my work. I use CS5 to convert from RAW, save as PSD, then open the file in CS3 to do the work.
I've been working with Mac CS5 since it came out. And Mac Photo Shop in general since the early 90's. That said. This just started today right in the middle of a project:
Normally I hold down my Option Key and drag a layer down to the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers pane. Now I get a dialog popping up asking me if to give the duplicate a name (if it's multiple layers), or to ask if the default name is OK.
This wasn't happening earlier in the day. Why has this all of a sudden started happening? How can I turn the pop-up off? I've tried resetting the prefs with Cmd-Opt-Shift on reopening PS5.
Yes, I know I can do this with Cmd-J, but I've doing the Opt-Drag methods for many years, and that's now how I'm used to working. Running i Mac with 8 GB RAM, OSX 10.8.2. RAM usage set to 70% default. Photo Shop CS5 10.0.4 x32.
When creating a new layer and holding ALT I do not get the dialog box to appear the new layer is just created. I've tried to reset my preference twice and this has not work.

For some reason when I go to use "Save As" either from the dropdown "File" menu or from the keyboard shortcut the dialog box shows up for a split second and then dissappears. If I hit enter it acts as if I told it to write over the currently open file without renaming it and prompts me to verify that's what I want to do.
I can't see the dialog, so I can't rename the file if I want to, or change the location where the file is being saved to. I had my computer re-imaged last week and didn't have any issues once everything hed been reinstalled.
On Monday when I had the Wacom tablet drivers installed as they had been missed the previous week the issue started. I deleted my preferences but nothing changed. I had PS reinstalled as I know in the previous PS editions the software prefered to be reloaded when accessories were attached. This didn't fix the problem, so I had the wacom drivers removed.
It STILL didn't fix anything. When I came in this morning (23 June) neither PS or AI would even open up. I had the entire suite removed (even though Flash, Fireworks and Dreamweaver all operate as intended) and reinstalled. When they were finally done the problem was STILL there!! What other step am I missing?? Why out of the blue would these two, and ONLY these two be acting crazy?
In regard to using the three eyedroppers in the levels dialog box. I am crystal clear on how to most accurately find the lightest and darkest areas to click on with the white and black eyedroppers.
Its the middle one that I need help with. I have been told in the past that I should click on the area that SHOULD be gray, rather than what IS gray. Is there a little more of a precise way of arriving at which area to click on rather than just guessing like "Hmm, I think maybe his pants should gray".
Or what about when an image has nothing whatsoever to do with any gray. I know this middle eyedropper may not be critical, but I just gotta think there is a better way to do this rather than guessing. If a photo has just red, blue, yellow, green, pink, orange & gold, what "should be" the grayest? Obviously there is something I don't understand about this tool.
This is major irritation when you have to drill down through different servers/directories all the time when saving different files. The "recent" folder does an ok job but you still have to search through the contents to find the directory you need...and isn't always there.
I'm wondering why Adobe did away with the ability to setup favorites in this dialog box. What gives? Might have seemed trivial but it's important when in a production environment as seconds matter a great deal. Any clues or suggestions?
