Photoshop :: Prevent PNG Options Dialog?
Aug 6, 2013Whenever I save something as a PNG, Photoshop asks if I want to save it in interlaced format. Is there a way to set a default for that so it doesn't ask me every flippin' time?

Which means my workflow has come to an absolute and complete stop since I can no longer export proper 32-bit TGA files that are required for import into other software.

I've deleted all the preferences inside ~/Library/Preferences though that did not fix it.

May 13, 2004Sometimes when I save an image as a jpeg the dialog box defaults to a higher compression and lower image quality. I change it to the highest quality but when I save the next image it is again at the lower quality setting. How can I get it to default to the highest quality setting or at least stay at the last setting.

Oct 4, 2012how to modify the options in the save dialog?Every time I save a file and have to choose the file type, I have to scroll through obscure and obsolete file types. Sure, I might need someday to save Scitex CT, or Photoshop DCS, but the chances are very slim. Some people surely use PIXAR and TARGA, but I don't. What the hell is an IFF? If I ever need a Portable Bit Map (really?) file it would be great if I could find it in a user defineable option pull down. I can pretty well guarantee that the file types I need are PSD, TIFF, JPEG, PDF, PNG and once in a blue moon, GIF.

After watching Jared Platt's creativelive course, I started creating my PSD's by exporting them in bulk, adding them back into the catalog and stacking them on top of the original raw files. Mar 19, 2013I am difficulty getting the options dialog box to open (under the file menu "red A" dropdown list, options button). When I click on it, all of the buttons on top go gray and nothing appears. When I click on the black workspace, I get a compluter bell sound.
What I've tried to do to solve the problem is restart the computer and shutdown the computer.

Jun 7, 2012I have the following function that opens the File "Save As" dialog box. It gets fed a drawing number and allows the users to browse to a folder where they want to save it. The problem is when a file already exists with the same name. A message box pops up letting the user know that the file already exists and do they want to overwrite it. The can pick yes to overwrite, but it doesn't really overwrite the old file, it seems like it opens it and then crashes when the rest of the program tries to run.
What I want to do is create a loop to determine if the file already exists. If it does not exist, then save the path and drawing name as usual.Â
If the drawing exists, I want to pop up a dialog giving two options; Overwrite, or Rename the current drawing. If they pick Overwrite, I can have the program delete the old existing drawing and then just save this one. If they pick Rename it will loop back to the "Save As" dialog giving the user the ability to change their drawing name (like add a "-1" to it.

There are literally hundreds, of scale options in the Scale popup, most of which make no sense to me. I know that I need 1:25, or 1:100 to fit on the page I am printing to. How do I remove or filter out all of the others such as 1:100 3_1_1_1_1_1? I don't even know what that notation means.

I then have to go to the hard drive > library > application support > Flexnet publisher and delete it. I then can open up CS4 and it stays open. I have had to do this procedure for many months. I am using Mac OS.6.8. Is there a way of preventing CS4 from crashing without having to go through this procedure?
Photoshop :: How To Prevent Color Changes
Sep 21, 2008when I save them they loose alot of their color intencity when opened in Firefox. They still look great in Safari and in Mac OS X previewer, but in Firefox they look pale. I've read alot about this, and have been told to change the color settings from Adobe RGB to sRGB (and then convert old images to that colorspace) but this doesn't work. Why is it that (for exemple) Apple can make their images look the same in Firefox/Safari when I can't (see images below),
The image with fire is mine, the other is obviously Apple's.. how do I get my images to look the same in all browsers (as Apple do)?

Dec 12, 2012I recently upgraded to CS6 and I find that Photoshop hangs whenever I attempt to print or access the printer settings, in the print dialog in Photoshop. This occurs with both printers I've tried (Epson 7800 and my HP OfficeJet).PS CS5 seems to print fine, as does Word, Illustrator and inDesign CS5 or CS6. All programs have had all their updates installed.

The Epson 7800 is network attached. I have the standard TCP/IP port configured with the LPR pass-through protocol, and I tried all settings of "enable advanced printing features", "enable bidirectional "and "printer isolation". And of course I've done the usual things of uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting (Seemingly endlessly) both Photoshop and the printer driver. In the printer install methods tried were both Windows update add printer Wizard as well as the 6.5 driver installer downloaded off Epson's website.

The failure in more detail happens two ways.:
1. When using printer settings from the PS print dialogue, the application hangs on clicking OK on the printer settings dialog.
2. When hitting PRINT on Photoshop's dialogue the application hangs, there's a spool file visible in spool/PRINTERS that is 0K long.

Is there any way to control that behaviour? I found that in older PS-files, replacing contents always made the new content fit into the bounding box, but since CS3, the transformation stays the same which means I have to rescale the smart-object if the content-size has changed. Example:Imagine a game cover with screenshots on the back side. Now each screenshot is a smartobject.All Screenshots are at 640x480 (assumend the standard screen dpi of 72)Now I found them in a better resolution (1024x768, also 72dpi) and replace the old ones with "replace content". The old photoshop behaviour: Photoshop would fit the larger image to occupy exactly the same area than it's predecessor.The new behaviour: The whole Smartobject is enlarged by 160% (not the transformation parameters, the visual appearance.), I have to scale it down to make it fit to the old size. And I really wonder about having older and newer Photoshop-Files where these Smartobjects behave differently.Now did I miss something in the help section or is there a way to control this behaviour?

Sep 11, 2013I typically have multiple Photoshop documents open at once along with other programs. Let's say that I want to make a client's revisions. With CS5, I could have my email open and the Photoshop window I'm editing side-by-side. With CS6 and CC, when I click on the window I want to edit, ALL the photoshop windows come to the front, obscuring the email message.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening and only bring the one window I clicked on to the front? There is still an option under Window > Arrange > Bring All to Front, which wouldn't be necessary if the windows are always in front.
