I'm upgrading from CS5 and now every time I open a document in Photoshop, the Timeline animation window opens up. I'm on a MacBook Pro 15" and don't need the Timeline. It stills open up even after saving a new workspace with it closed and not even docked.
View 2 RepliesIs it possible to prevent timeline markers from responding to a ripple delete? On a film project it's not an issue, but when I do broadcast work, a lot of times I need to hit specfic moments in time, like 28:30 for a half hour show. I'll add a timeline comment mark to that point in time, but later, due to a lot or ripple deleting, that marker has shifted drastically. Right now the only work around I found is to add an ajustment later on an unused track and lock the track. But this gets to be a pain if I need multiple markers.Â

And when I try to open any photo in PS CC from Bridge CC I get asked if I want to save that file before I close PS CC. With no alternative to do anything else.

I think a specific document is causing Ai to crash, so after Ai crashes, it tries to re-open the file when I restart Ai, then it crashes again - ad infinitum!
I have a file that is the reference AI CS6 file. I am working in it, then a team member opened it - no warning - then he saved, not knowing I was in it. We lost work as AI gets confused. I don't understand why there isn't a read only like other programs. we are on a server and there has to be a way to know if it is being used? Saves phone calls and time and...depending on who saves when...we lose work. I must be missing something with CS6.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am learning about using channels as a mean of channel masking in CS5. The instructor on a dvd starts with a general understanding of channels. Within the first 2 minutes, I can't seem to replicate his instructions.

Here are steps I take to look at the individual channels Red, Green, Blue.I invoke "Channels" in my layers palette. What appears is the RGB, Red, Green, Blue Channels (with the eyeball showing in each of the individual channels).The instructor says to click on each of the channel and you will see the appropriate a tone map of each individual channels.

When I click on lets say the red channel, nothing happens ... all of the layer eyeballs are still on and I get no individual tone map. If I deselect all of the eyeballs, then I can get the individual channel tone maps.

I suppose that the instructor is using a shortcut key to invoke each individual channel tone map, but he doesn't explain it.how to get an individual tone map directly after opening up the channels palette, without having to manually remove each eyeball.
sometimes (there is no rule) when i'm opening a Color Picker window and moving cursor on the palette - my internet browser opens Adobe site.When i try to get back to PS it immediately starts another tab, and another it takes less than 1 second..

I can drag and maximize so they appear in the middle, but on reopening another image they default to the top left again, I would like them to always open in the middle?
When I open CS4, it crashes with out an error message box coming up. The second attempt, it crashes with the message box saying, Error 150:30, Licensing for this product has stopped working.Â
I then have to go to the hard drive > library > application support > Flexnet publisher and delete it. I then can open up CS4 and it stays open. I have had to do this procedure for many months. I am using Mac OS.6.8. Is there a way of preventing CS4 from crashing without having to go through this procedure?
when I save them they loose alot of their color intencity when opened in Firefox. They still look great in Safari and in Mac OS X previewer, but in Firefox they look pale. I've read alot about this, and have been told to change the color settings from Adobe RGB to sRGB (and then convert old images to that colorspace) but this doesn't work. Why is it that (for exemple) Apple can make their images look the same in Firefox/Safari when I can't (see images below),

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to CS6 and I find that Photoshop hangs whenever I attempt to print or access the printer settings, in the print dialog in Photoshop. This occurs with both printers I've tried (Epson 7800 and my HP OfficeJet).PS CS5 seems to print fine, as does Word, Illustrator and inDesign CS5 or CS6. All programs have had all their updates installed.

The Epson 7800 is network attached. I have the standard TCP/IP port configured with the LPR pass-through protocol, and I tried all settings of "enable advanced printing features", "enable bidirectional "and "printer isolation". And of course I've done the usual things of uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting (Seemingly endlessly) both Photoshop and the printer driver. In the printer install methods tried were both Windows update add printer Wizard as well as the 6.5 driver installer downloaded off Epson's website.

The failure in more detail happens two ways.:
1. When using printer settings from the PS print dialogue, the application hangs on clicking OK on the printer settings dialog.
2. When hitting PRINT on Photoshop's dialogue the application hangs, there's a spool file visible in spool/PRINTERS that is 0K long.
When trying to use photomerge, Photoshop (CS 5.5 version) quits immediately. How can I fix it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThere seem to be 2 kinds of smart objects: One kind where you can replace the contents, no matter what size it has and it will fit into the bounding box of the smart object which is already there.The other kind where this doesn't happen. Is there any way to control that behaviour? I found that in older PS-files, replacing contents always made the new content fit into the bounding box, but since CS3, the transformation stays the same which means I have to rescale the smart-object if the content-size has changed. Example:Imagine a game cover with screenshots on the back side. Now each screenshot is a smartobject.All Screenshots are at 640x480 (assumend the standard screen dpi of 72)Now I found them in a better resolution (1024x768, also 72dpi) and replace the old ones with "replace content". The old photoshop behaviour: Photoshop would fit the larger image to occupy exactly the same area than it's predecessor.The new behaviour: The whole Smartobject is enlarged by 160% (not the transformation parameters, the visual appearance.), I have to scale it down to make it fit to the old size. And I really wonder about having older and newer Photoshop-Files where these Smartobjects behave differently.Now did I miss something in the help section or is there a way to control this behaviour?

I'm using a MacBook Pro 15,4" Retina.
I typically have multiple Photoshop documents open at once along with other programs. Let's say that I want to make a client's revisions. With CS5, I could have my email open and the Photoshop window I'm editing side-by-side. With CS6 and CC, when I click on the window I want to edit, ALL the photoshop windows come to the front, obscuring the email message.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening and only bring the one window I clicked on to the front? There is still an option under Window > Arrange > Bring All to Front, which wouldn't be necessary if the windows are always in front.
im using Photoshop Cs5.
in my requirement image should be 951x211 pixels. i have made that but when i put into my web page as a banner the image was stretched however all the other image banner has the same size(951x211) but not stretched as the one i edit..how can i re-size to prevent my image and text stretched.
