I think I just wasted $79! I just upgraded to PSE12 from PSE8 only to find out the one tool I use most often, the magic extractor, is not there. What options do I have? can I get my money back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I use the magic extractor function ir freezes/locks up the program. I do get the status of the extraction process after picking my background & forground, yet when I attempt to preview my photo it acts as if the process is working, but in the end I don't get a preview image of my selection & the program has locked up. I'm running XP with SP3, 3.49 GB of available RAM and 20.8 GB of free space on my drive. The image I am working with is 2592x3888.

basically i need to cut out an image (cupboard) so it can be used for advertising purposes and i need clean lines at the bottom of the cupboard as there are shadows i need to edit out.
I used Magic Extractor to extract a person from a pic. Then wanted to superimpose it on a landscale phot I had. Trouble is the checkered part which should be transparent is solid white. Tried saving as PNG, and PSD, didn't work.

When I click on the Extractor Plus.Plugin on my i Mac, I get a dialogue box stating "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file. I have both PSE 10 and PS CS 4 installed on my i Mac (Version 10.7.4). How can I install the Extractor filter in PS CS 4?

When the mouse pointer is hover the Accuracy selector (in Object Extractor section) PSP crashes.
This happens only if the language is set to Italian, no problem if the language is English.
I think there's problems with some tooltips.

I have not renamed or moved original elements, yet when I recently opened an on-going project in Photoshop Elements 4.0, about 1/4 of the media elements were gone. Why? Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Anyway to recover these slides? Can't see that any photos, etc in the Organizer have broken links.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to have more than one text placement inside of a single layer, but be able to maintain and move each of those separately from the others? From what I have seen, each new Text item gets its own new layer. If I want to document an image with seven points of reference, it's absolutely crazy that I have to maintain seven layers, each with an integer 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7. What would be much more maintainable is to create ONE layer and name it "MAP-NUMBERS" and then have seven integers placed into that one layer. I would then want to be able to move - say - "2" around separately from "4". Then making all of the numbers appear or disappear becomes as easy as hiding or showing one layer.
Is there a way to do this with any version of Photoshop?
Description of the task: I want to create a tool which is able to visualize the positions of pieces on a game board. At the moment I'm using Photoshop Elements 7. I think the following procedure would be appropriate:
2 layers, the basic layer would show the game board and the images of the pieces would be on the second layer. If I try to do that with Photoshop Elements 7 then each time when I insert an image of a piece a new layer is created. I don't need a layer per figure. Yes, one could reduce a layer afterwards. But it's not so comfortable this way.
In addition the images of the pieces should be movable on the game board. There is the option "free transform" in Photoshop Elements 7 but only one element (one piece) is movable afterwards. All the inserted elements should be movable.
So my question: Is it feasible within Photoshop Elements 7? If not, which version of Photoshop Elements would be adequate or which software do I need?
I am trying to add several photos to a frame. I just downloaded the free trial of photoshop elements 12, but the entire column labeled 'layer' is disabled. I can't use clipping mask. I am wondering, is this feature disabled because it's a free trial? Do I need to have my photos arranged differently in order for the layer column to be active and usable? Is this a feature that elements does not have?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to move elements of that painting onto a separate layer. What is the best way to do this? An example of this would be a painting with the moon in a night sky. I might want to move that moon object into a separate layer.
My reason for wanting to do this is I want to change the background of the painting without worrying about doing fine details around the objects I am moving. A second benefit of moving the objects to a layer is that I can then easily move the location of those elements in the painting around, trying to reposition them.
can I get all of the elements I am moving onto a SINGLE layer AND still have the ability to move those elements around separately? If I want to move 10 elements in a painting to a separate layer, it is REALLY inconvenient to have to put those into 10 separate layers and constantly maintain naming of these different layers.
I have quit the program and restarted it. I have restarted the Mac and the problem is still there. None of my other program windows are stuck, just Elements.
It is too far to the left and it won't move over.
I'm trying to access the ruler tool in elements 9. I got to the eyedropper icon, point at it, click and hold, but the window with the options does not open. Is there another way to access this tool?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen moving images into PE 10 for editing, patterns on clothing get distorted (stripes, checks). These are fine in other programs after downloading from the camera. They are also fine in the PE 10 RAW editor, but distort when moved into the editor. It does not seem to be just a display issue as they also print with the distorted patterns. how to correct or avoid this from happening?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I start Elements Organiser, there is an on-screen message that there are files ready to import and that the Organiser will now import these files into the Catalog. Then a "Getting Media" box displays and, at some point, say 56%, the "racing cursor" appears and the programme does nothing more. It just freezes and eventually there is a Windows message stating that the programme is not responding. This happens in Elements/Premiere 11. I reinstalled Elements 6 and the file importing works quickly and without problem in that version of Elements.
This is a new, custom-built PC, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. 16 Gb memory. Adobe programmes were installed for 64-bit OS exactly as directed in Adobe instructions. All hardware drivers are up to date. No other problems with any other software, just Adobe's Elements 11 bundle !
It (organizer) and Photoshop make me force quit when trying to sign in as well.

View 11 Replies View RelatedMy wife took my picture in front of the UW Husky Stadium but the video screen above me is overexposed (washed out). So I took a separate shot of the screen with proper exposure. As you can probably see, I took this shot much closer to the screen. I want to replace the overexposed screen witht the properly exposed screen in the picture of me.
Because the properly exposed shot was taken closer to the screen and maybe at a different angle (rotation) those would have to be adjusted.
I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 running on Windows 7. I have used it for a while but am an absolute beginner with anything more than the simplest functions so I would need all the steps spelled out in detail.
I put the elements 12 disk in my DVD drive and it spens about 4 minutes trying to get going. The lights on the drive flash occasionally, and you can hear it trying to go. I go to "my computer" to check the "drive" folder and it never appears for me to click on it and open it. It also doesn't automatically load which I have turned on. I have verified it is a DVD drive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have added accidentally a wrong location to a few photos. I replaced the location by the correct one. However, this location is still present in the extended search (even after repairing the catalogue) as checkbox to select.
When selected, no picture is shown (correct), however, if this checkbox with the wrong location vanish.
In all previous versions of Elements, if you set your editing in iPhoto preferences to Elements it would send the file to Elements and open in the Editor.. with this version when I do the same, it only opens the editor but no picture to edit..
