On using magic extractor - I need to make straight lines on my edit of a cupboard, Other than doing it free hand is there a way to do it using a ruler or some kind of measurements or straight lines ?
basically i need to cut out an image (cupboard) so it can be used for advertising purposes and i need clean lines at the bottom of the cupboard as there are shadows i need to edit out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I use the magic extractor function ir freezes/locks up the program. I do get the status of the extraction process after picking my background & forground, yet when I attempt to preview my photo it acts as if the process is working, but in the end I don't get a preview image of my selection & the program has locked up. I'm running XP with SP3, 3.49 GB of available RAM and 20.8 GB of free space on my drive. The image I am working with is 2592x3888.

In other words what is important for me is to select boundary lines which shape the slab and openings (if there is any) not the mass.
I have an image in which I have selected certain parts using the magic wand. How do I apply a contrast to the selected edges. The adjustment layers deslect the areas.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to cut an item out of an image, I create a mask on the image's layer and paint out everything except the item I want to keep. Something has changed and I can no longer select that remaining item in the layer after I've applied the layer mask and essentially painted out everything else.
For instance if I wanted an apple cut out of a tree, I would paint everything in black except that apple, which remains white in the mask. After applying the mask to the layer, I should be able to click in the empty space around the apple wtih my magic wand tool and have it make a perfect selection around that apple, yet the magic wand tool is still picking up the leaves, branches, etc. Even though I've painted them out and applied the mask, essentially deleting them, and all I can see is the grey and white checkerboard grid behind the apple.
This is Photoshop CS6 and it was working fine before. Did I change something without realizing it?
I am trying to fill certain areas using the magic wand and even though the opacity is at 100% it is still only shading it with the chosen color. Is there something that I need to set somewhere in it?

When I click on the Extractor Plus.Plugin on my i Mac, I get a dialogue box stating "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file. View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to use the magic wand tool to erase things from a picture the program says there is a problem either look online for a solution or close the program and I choose to look online but it just closes the program down completely. I had not been having any trouble at all and it just immediately started doing this and I had been using the very same tools as I am trying to use now. I am extremely frustrated and I even deactivated the program, uninstalled it, and then reinstalled thinking this would fix it.

When the mouse pointer is hover the Accuracy selector (in Object Extractor section) PSP crashes.
This happens only if the language is set to Italian, no problem if the language is English.
I think there's problems with some tooltips.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen creating a panorama in Elements from a number of photos, I consistently get the following error message: “Would you like to automatically fill in the edges of your panorama?” When answering “Yes” I get the following message:
“Could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM)”. I tried making a panorama of 2 images (total size 6.3MB) and didn’t get the message. Adding one additional photo (total size 7.4MB) I got the message once again.
This message occurred with Elements 9 so I doubled the amount of RAM and got the same message. Now I have upgraded to Elements 11 and continue to get the same message. Is there a fix? Is the 6.3MB size the limitation for creating the panorama?
Can I fade out edges of photos in elements 9?

So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.
What I need to do is find an easy way to remove the white spacing around an item and have the item displayed tight to the edges.
For example: I need a quick and easy way to turn this into this
With the intention of then being able to resize the image to the exact dimensions I require before then resizing the canvas size to create the exact amount of white spacing between the tops and bottom of the image.
I am unable to locate the artistic filter called "poster edges". According to the online info on PSE 10, I should be able to find "poster edges" by going to editor, effects, filters, artistic and under artistic the POSTER EDGES should be there. All are there EXCEPT poster edges.

i'm trying to make a new brush from a scanned photo. now i've done this before, and never had a problem, but it seems that with this particular picture, i can't. i've selected it, erased the background, turned it to grayscale etc.. looked in the tutorials, help, in many many forums.. i made sure the feathers were turned to 0, and the option "define brush preset" remains untouchable.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below.So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
