In all previous versions of Elements, if you set your editing in iPhoto preferences to Elements it would send the file to Elements and open in the Editor.. with this version when I do the same, it only opens the editor but no picture to edit..

I've recently upgraded to PSE 11 from PSE 10. Previously, when I click edit in iphoto, the photo that I want to edit automatically opens up in PSE 10 and I can do my edit rightaway.
However, the photo does not open up automatically in PSE 11 now. My computer will launch PSE 11 but I have to manually load the photo for editing. I've done the necessary settings in iphoto (i.e edit using external editor) but it's still not working like it used to.
Is this a change in feature in PSE 11.
How do i get photos from iphoto library over to photoshop elements 10 for editing?

No picture selected for editing out of iPhoto shows up in Photoshop Elements 11 (trial version) even though Photoshop Elements is opening when selecting a picture for editing with external editor in iPhoto. Does this have to do with the trial version of PE 11?

I'm trying to import my photo collection (17000+) from iphoto to Elements organizer and am getting problems: The directory structure created becomes incredibly complex (many folders that include only 1 picture and many duplicates) and the worst of all is that many pictures get now as a date the new daten when they were imported. Is there a way to keep their original dates instead?

Everytime I try to import photos from iPhoto the import process will go through until it is almost finished, then a notification will pop up saying that the import failed. Once I click "OK" on that dialogue box a new box will pop up saying that a few (6) pictures were unable to be imported for various reasons, but that the rest of my pictures were imported. I am then unable to find any pictures anywhere in Photoshop Elements. I have tried to import photos 7 or 8 times with the same result everytime.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Iphoto with PSE11 but when I save the edited (JPG) image it will not let me revert to the original image. If I select the saved photo with Iphoto it will only let me re-edit it with an external editor (PSE11). This works fine but I can't "Revert to Original" in PSE11. If I try to re-edit it with Iphoto which has the "Revert to Original" button I get the message "Photo edited in an external editor so can't be edited in Iphoto. Duplicate photo to edit in Iphoto". If I do this I still cannot get back to the original unedited picture.
There is an obvious way to get round this by duplicating the original image before doing any external editor editing but there must be an automatic way which I am missing.
I have just upgraded from Elements 9 to 11. I had no issues exporting from iphoto to 9, worked a treat. I have configured everything exactly the same, checked and double checked all the preferences and it will not work automatically. I can manually export to my desk to and it works fine, the raw file shows up in the bridging application and I can do whatever I need to. However, this is a bit long winded and as it worked so well before it is a little frustrating..

I then select Photos and all my iPhoto and Photo Booth files open. But I cannot click on (well, I can click on them but nothing happens) any photo to pull it into PE6. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Mac Air, and have been using Iphoto '11 (9.4.2). I downloaded PSE 10 through the App Store. In Iphoto I have clicked the "advanced" tabs to use PSE 10 as external editor and to export files as RAW. However, whenever I try to open a RAW file in PSE 10, it becomes a JPEG. This is true for both NEF (Nikon d300) and RAF (Fujix-100) files. It is also true whether I try to open the file through Iphoto by clicking the edit button (with PSE 10 as the external editor), or opening the Iphoto file directly through PSE 10. Also, when in Iphoto, it shows the file accurately as either NEF or RAF), and I can use the RAW editing in Iphoto.
Meanwhile, PSE 10 has no problem opening either type as RAW when I use a source different than Iphoto, for example from the memory card directly out of the cameras.
Before upgrading to PSE 10 for Mac, I would select a photo in iPhoto, click on edit and PSE 8 would open with the selected photo. Now PSE 10 will open but, there is no photo open in PSE 10.

I've recently installed PSE12 but it cannot access the pictures in my iPhoto library for editing, even though I've changed the iPhoto settings to use PSE12 as the external editor. When I right click a picture in iPhoto and then click "edit in external editor", PSE12 opens but the worksurface is empty, and I can't figure out how to open the picture for editing. I have no problem editing photos that are on my desktop, so the problem seems to lie in communication between iPhoto and PSE12. I never had this problem with PSE9.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA recent book by Philip Andrews - ELEMENTS 10 FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS gives instructions on Page 34 of how to transfer images from iPhoto on my MAC to Elements 10 - Organiser.
However the Dialogue Box - "Import from iPhoto" does not open and therefore will not allow me to select the iPhoto EVENTS folders and transfer them to Elements Organiser as Albums.
It only provides the option to transfer all my images in i Photo as a complete block.
When i imported pics from iphoto got a lot of duplicates Why does this happen and how can I prevent it?

I have been able to select it in preferences advanced but when I right click a photoand chose external edit, the editor opens but the photo does not. Same for RAWS and jpeg's, in iPhoto library or in a folder.
