I have just installed elements 11 on a windows 7 machine and whites are showing as cream, even in the colour pickers and swatches. My elements 8 works fine. how do I fix this?
View 2 RepliesI recently purchased a new monitor, and ive looked for a solution to this question in its book etc, but i had no joy. Basically upon opening an image, or even selecting the a colour from the colour swatch in photoshop, the colour doesnt seem to look right.
The most obvious is the colour white. In photoshop, upon selecting white, the chosen colour actually looks a lot more like a creamy colour.
I have done some calibration in adobe gamma but that hasnt really helped.
upon opening photoshop after installing my new monitor, i had some sort of message come up, and i didnt read the entire message before i had closed it (duh) but it said something about colour profile error or mis-match - im not 100% sure of what the error was but i know it was definately about colour and it referenced the fact a new monitor had been installed.
I've got CS2 at home on the PC. When I open photoshop or any document, the black and white are black and a dark cream color on my monitor. There is no white at all in the color areas and white seems to show as this cream color everywhere - affecting how I view images. However, when I print the white is white. Have tried changing around color settings.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSeveral of the operations out of LR 4.2 say I need to update to ACR 7.2. When I go to the Updates screen in CS6, I get a message saying the servers are busy, or possibly there is a problem with the firewall.

I logged off as my normal user and logged back in as the Administrator and tried it again and got the same message.
I am running Photoshop CS6 (Creative Cloud subscription) on a Windows 8 machine. While Photoshop itself starts perfectly OK when I click on the Bridge ikon I get a revolving little circle for a few seconds, then nothing. The same happens when I try to start it from within Photoshop. Mini Bridge says it can't start without full bridge running.Â
How to get Bridge to run. The only clue I can give to what could be the problem is that I had CS2 running on the machine prior to installing CS6 and I wonder if there is still some detritus from that installation hanging around. By the way I have searched the forum and tried most of the cures suggested in the past for similar problems on earlier versions of Photoshop. It is a anoyance rather than a game stopper for me as I manage my photo library using Light room but I would like to sort the problem out.
I'm running the cloud on a window machine 64 bit. Everytime I open Photoshop I get the error : It cannot start because it's missing plugplug.dll, then it does load.

Second machine, a laptop, not so good. The 64 bit version hangs as soon as I try to open a file, even using File > New. The program is totally hung and nonresponsive at that point. But the 32 bit version works fine.

Both machines are running 64 bit Win 7, SP1, autoupdated. The second machine had Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 8 still present when I first installed CS6. When the 'hang' first happened, I uninstalled both, and then reinstalled CS6. Problem persisted. Unistalled and reinstalled CS6 again after reboot.
I've installed the entire CS6 Creative Suite on a new Windows 8 Machine. Launcing any of the applications other than Acrobat 10 causes a crash. Windows 8 and the Nvidia GTX670 are all up to date. Crash reports for Photshop and Illustrator are as follows:

Most of the posts I have seen about this related to mac and I am on a Windows 7 machine. Required for importing video as layers (or as least Photoshop told me so)

View 7 Replies View RelatedLightroom 4.3 won't start up on my Windows 8, 32 bit machine. Install went fine but when I click on the Lr icon the program appears to start up and I get the Lr in the task bar at the bottom and when I hover over the icon I get a thumbnail of the start screen. When I hover over the thumbnail of the start screen it appears on my desktop but when I move the mouse off the thumbnail the start screen disappears from the desktop so there is no way to get past this point.

What I want to do is to share the LR catalog so that my kids and wife can access the database from their own accounts. I tried sharing the directory with the catalog and all the photos. But when I open lightroom from my kids's account, I keep getting an "unexpected error openning the catalog".

I have searched around but all the questions ask about sharing on network drives. But I just want to share the catalog on the same machine on local harddrive. I made sure that all the other lightrooms are closed in the other accounts (everyone else is signed off) before I tried to open it from my kid's account.
Got a new computer. Copied and upgraded Photoshop CS2 to CS5. I would like to give the old computer to a family member or friend. Will they be able to use the CS2 on the old machine? (an iMac 10.6) or is that the end of that CS2?Â

Is this posible and does the transfer/backup include the actual photos or just the relevant details? as I already have the photos copied to the new machine.
I recently reloaded my files from Time Machine, after having my had my hard drive replaced. Elements will not run, giving me error 150:30 and a message to the effect that my license is not working. Do I have to reload from disk?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSomeone sent me a photo (group shot), said it's to be printed on cream colored stock and requested that I color correct it for that scenario. Well, I don't have a sample of the stock but I DO have a scan of it (but it looks more greenish than creamish). Assuming that I end up with a color that accurately represents the card stock, what's the best way to do the correction? I've put the image over the approximated color and set the blend to Multiply but I don't know if that's what I need to be doing or not. Funny I've never run into this before.

I am using the HPGL/2 driver. I can print a test page, and I can print from other programs.
When I try to print, it looks like it is sending it normally, but the printer just ignores it.
I am able to print to this printer from AutoCad 2010 on a Vista computer.
Photoshop, as an application, opens fine. The toolbars and sidebars all show up, but when I open a file (i.e. a JPEG, PSD, etc) the layer shows up on the sidebar, but the window of the image never opens. To add to the issue, there is no error message, thus Tech Support was not useful at all.

D: is a separate physical 1TB drive. D: is backed up to a USB drive; this backup drive (500GB) is now almost full (it also backs up other machines drives) hence why I will use the current 1TB image drive as backup and retire/reuse the 500GB drive.

I now have a new 64 bit pc with its own 1TB drive, on which I would like to run Lightroom 4 with Elements 10 for additional editing. I would like to store the both Main Images currently on D: drive in C:UsersMeMy Pictures on the new machine. The 1TB drive from the old machine is now in a USB housing and will act as the onsite backup for all the images and image data and other machines drives.

I have been experiencing a 2" black or white square while zooming that stays on image at that zoom ratio. I use Topaz Adjust and NIK software. If I save file and reopen it's gone!

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to filter -> render -> lighting effects it seems to pop up some kind of options pane for maybe a quarter second while it's thinking, but once it's done all it does is create a duplicate layer called "lighting effects". I never actually see the options.

I've updated my drivers, and I just installed cs6 today, without importing any of my old settings from before.
I have been using Photoshop for a long time. And I am running PS6 on my Macbook Pro and 27"iMac.I am currently having a situation where Photoshop appears on my desktop and when I try to scroll to a different desktop view, PS screen view still populates it. That only happens on my iMac...not the laptop.I can't seem to find any preference to adjust.Â

However, every time I attempt to replace the color with White, it shows up as a gray instead. Not sure what's going on, it seems like I've checked all my color settings, and if I try to replace with any other color it works just fine... its only with the WHITE that I'm having trouble making the change.

I have a web image (gif format) with a transparent background (deleted the background layer before saving as a gif), and when the image is against a darker webpage, the text of the image (that is basically all the image is, just blended text) has white pixels around the edges of the text. Did I do something wrong when I deleted the background, or how I saved the file???
