Dec 30, 2013I took several pictures, seven to be exact of a rocket launch at night, thinking that one long exposure might make some sections of the photo too bright. The beach is a little underexposed, but that is OK. how to join them? I thought I would use the first one as the base and basically merge the others after I take out all of the content except the rocket plume/flare, but when I try this, it puts the rocket plume in the middle of the layer and I would have to manually align the rocket trail, but can't seem to do it very easily. I'm only trying to cut and paste, and obvious newbie to elements. I have just upgraded to 12 but still have 9 on my machine if one is any better than the other for doing this type of thing.

Jul 13, 2012I have a model of gums and a set of teeth. What I am trying to do is create an animation where the fourth tooth back on each side of the upper gums disappear then create a blendshape causing the front teeth to move back and fill in the gaps as well as condense the gums so there isn't a gap here either. I am not exactly sure what the best way to do this would be, I am newer to Maya. My question is; Is there and easier way to do this because once I delete the faces and have a divides mesh I go to Mesh->Seperate and select Vertex mode on both and combine the meshes manually by selecting each vertex with the move tool and while holding "V" dragging the vertex over to the adjacent vertex on the opposite mesh. The issue im having is that the width of the mesh starts smaller upfront and progressivly gets bigger as you move to the back of the gums so by deleting a middle section the two meshes dont line up. The back mesh is much wider than the front. I am also worried that when i go to create a Blendshape to transition from the origional mesh to the new shortened one that will pull the teeth back to a perfect smile. I have heard that when creating a BS both meshes need to have the same number of Vertices and after removing a section mine wont. I am also concerned because after the two meshes have been sewn using this process I am left with an ugly point of intersection all the way around my mesh that has proven difficult to blend using the 'Sculpt Geometry Tool' with a falloff/Soft Mod.

Sep 19, 2012I just loaded Gimp 2.8 from 'ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp' with the idea of using the 'all-in-one' new arrangement. I am using Mint 13 Maya and the new gimp interface is not yet in the repository.
That said, having opened the 'new' gimp I see the docks arrangement is a bit different. Whereas there used to be two docks one on either side of the drawing area, now the right hand dock is split screen.
The problem is that just for say the colour wheel it uses loads of screen space. I know I can toggle between 'all-in-one' and multi-mode but they both have a split screen for the docks on the right.
I don't see any obvious way to move the colour wheel dock back to where it has been under the toolbox and brushes docks.
Maybe this is a fixed arrangement in 2.8, if so I will have to go back to my Mint 13 native version.

Apr 9, 2011I have autocad 2000i and can't open two drawings on the same screen. The book I am reading currently is autocad 2002: no experience required. In the book it as to open the drawing that I am currently working on and a new drawing after, then choose window>tile vertically. That doesn't seem to work for me. Also, when I click on window ther is only the active file on list instead of two or others that I have previously opened. I think I am stuck. Maybe there is something to change in the options for the allowance of more than one file to be on the list so then it would become possible to allow a split screen of two different drawings.

Apr 1, 2013i'm trying to link my edl with the correct clips. So when i got a green check icon , indicating that smoke have found the matched clip. But before i link it i just want to make sure that it's the correct clip. So in the bin, the clip is highligted and i double click it to open it up in the viewer. The problem the viewer split control is disabled so i can't do split screen to match that clip with the guide/offline (in the edl sequence i've inserted the guide movie). all i can see i have to link it first then go back to timeline and now i can view in split screen.

Photoshop :: Odd Photo Merge?
Jul 26, 2009For the past couple of years Photomerge in PS3 and PS4 has been sufficient for 95 percent of my stitches which are generally simply 2x flat stitches from shifting a T/S lens. These are all building interiors and exteriors with plenty of common points and overlap. This is an important part of my workflow and I do a few of these a week for clients. Up till recently they merged flawlessly. All of a sudden Photomerge can't seem to align any images giving me the error message "some images could not be automatically aligned". This happens under all the different merge modes. This also happens from Bridge or from open files in PS. It literally cannot merge any set of images. This is with the camera always on a tripod and exposure and WB locked down. The only thing that has changed is I have been playing with memory usage and cache levels trying to improve performance, but even after returning them to the original settings Photomerge will not complete a merge. It matters not what merge mode you use or whether you are working from raw files or tiffs or from Bridge or open files. I am having to do every stitch in Autopano Pro which slows down my workflow considerably and frankly does not work as well on keeping the lines straight. Widows XP with a huge scatch disk dedicated just to PS. A reinstall?

I know that my photo sizes are 3543px by 2362 px, and I know how to crop the images to the right size (885.75px by 2362px) but how to combine them.
