Photoshop Elements :: Load Upgrade Version Of 11 To New PC?
Jan 11, 2014I have upgraded from Win XP to 8.1 by buying a new machine. I have a valid copy of elements 11 on DVD. This was upgraded from elements 8 which was downloaded and those files have been lost. Windows 8.1 will not read the DVD.

Sep 5, 2012I updated CS4 (student version) to CS5.5 commercial version. The brushes, patterns, shapes and styles I had installed in the CS4 Photoshop version were not loaded into the new version. I no longer have the original files of these assets (or customizations).

Sep 29, 2013I am unable to access correctly loaded RGB printer profiles in Lightroom 5. In the print module when color management profile "Other" is selected no loaded profiles appear; and Lightroom usually freezes. Using Photoshop v6 on same computer I can access all loaded printer profiles. I have reloaded LR5.

Dec 15, 2011I'm using both Lightroom 3.5 and Photoshop CS5 on a 64-bit Windowx XP-Pro system with 8GB of RAM and plenty of disk space.

I use an X-rite color checker to generate custom camera profiles whenever I do portraits or other color critical photo sessions. The camera profile is generally placed in the "Documents and Settings...{user...}Application DataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfiles " folder.
When I try to apply a profile in either lightroom or ACR the newely created profile is not visible in the camera profile drop-down box. When I check to see if the profile exists in the appropriate folder, it does.

I've used color profiles before and have always been able to create and select a profile. Now I'm no longer able to do this. I would prefer to not re-install all my Adobe software since then I'd have to reinstall all the updates and plug-ins.

How can I get lightroom and ACR to see these profiles and use them?

Jul 1, 2009trying to load CS4 trial but get a message that Adobe stops working during software load up. Have tried turning off UAC, have removed files from programfiles as suggested in various other trails for this error to no avail.

Everything worked just fine before the update. Problems started right after upgrading.

Paint.NET :: Possibility Of Zoom Windows
Sep 20, 2013Just wondering about the possibility of zoom windows (output windows).The Opened File in the UR corner works okay as a zoomed/output window, but a separate window is always nice. For instance:
01. Deleting backgrounds: You often have to zoom in to do such things. It would be nice to see the output in a less zoomed version (300%, 200%, 100%, etc).
02. Working with icons: How to tell if your shade looked good without zooming out again?

The way I've seen it done (at AlphaGraphics, etc) is you make changes, then you keyboard shortcut zoom out. You do that over and over again until you're done. Works okay, but I think having to access the keyboard that much could seriously crimp your creativity.

Pretty sure you can't do such things with a plugin. Maybe I could write a separate class instance expression, add a bit of Lambada to a nested routine, and finally a go to statement that doesn't work?
Illustrator :: Possibility That Strokes Don't Overlap Into Other Objects
Jun 2, 2012I have a layer with 3 objects. (this is not a font).The S, E and the XY are unique objects, and i wanted to apply two strokes to it. First a black stroke and then a blue one.

My issue here is that the strokes at the red marked points are overlapping to other objects.

Is there a possibility that the strokes don't overlap into the other objects? can i somehow "merge" the 3 objects to one so the overlapping doesn't occur?

Mar 18, 2014I put the elements 12 disk in my DVD drive and it spens about 4 minutes trying to get going. The lights on the drive flash occasionally, and you can hear it trying to go. I go to "my computer" to check the "drive" folder and it never appears for me to click on it and open it. It also doesn't automatically load which I have turned on. I have verified it is a DVD drive.

Mar 24, 2014In trying to get to grips with the Color management aspects of PSE11, I have encountered the following problems: Having selected "Display" a sequence of clicks (Change display settings -> Advanced settings -> Colour Management -> Colour Management tab -> Colour Management) gives a screen which includes the headings:Device Profile and Viewing Conditions Profile.
1. Device Profile. Besides sRGB and ARGB, the profile list includes the profiles for all of the Epson papers.I changed the Profile to an Epson Grayscale, this was accepted within the menu, but there are no changes from normal when I viewed the image on the Windows screen or within PSE11. ("normal" is sRGB or ARGB). I thought it worth a try to test that, if I wanted the display image to closely represent what I would get on a particular Epson paper, this may be a way to do it.So what is the purpose of all of the paper Profiles appearing in the Display listing?
2. The Viewing Conditions Profile has also several options. I have tried to find the criteria for choosing one rather than the other, but failed to find any information. I seek general guidance rather than the details of the Profiles.

Selecting Image on the PSE11 menu across the top of the displayed image, and then Convert Colour Profile, I tried this process on an image, converting tiff to sRGB. When saved there was an extra asterisk in the saved title but in this case, the file was still labelled tiff and there was no change in the number of Mbs. If a conversion has taken place, how is one to know? Does saving a tiff file as jpeg change its colour profile? When is it useful to use this feature?

Sep 30, 2012I cannot change printer profiles in Colour Management on PSE10.  Whenever I try to do this it looks like I have changed it, and click OK...but when I check back it has actually not taken effect and has defaulted back to the original stored profile.  Consequently I cannot use different paper types now.  This has only just started happening and was ok before. I am using Mac OS 10.7.5 along with an Epson R3000.Â

When I start up PSE11 and go to print I set up the paper size then select a Printer Profile. When print the image it is a mess and seem to be black and white it is as if I printed on the wrong side of the paper.

I then go and try to print it again.  Now it all works as it should beutiful colours and spot on. all other print following this works.

Then I shut down PSE11.  Start it up again. Guess what first print is a mess again.  all others after are fine.

I uninstalled PSE11, deleted prefs. and reinstalled PSE11.   Same thing..  first print a mess all others ok.
no problems with PSE10 or PSE9.

Nov 14, 2012I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.
