I am unable to access correctly loaded RGB printer profiles in Lightroom 5. In the print module when color management profile "Other" is selected no loaded profiles appear; and Lightroom usually freezes. Using Photoshop v6 on same computer I can access all loaded printer profiles. I have reloaded LR5.

I have a number of printer colour profiles in the 'System32SpoolDriversColour' folder but I can't see them from Lightroom's Develop module (although the display profiles do appear).
Short version: My printer profiles are not showing up in the "choose profile" dialog in LR4.

Long versioin: I'm trying to print an image from LR4 to my Xerox Phaser 8560 using a custom color profile I created with my ColorMunki. However the profile isn't showing up in the "choose profile" dialog box. There is also no apparent way to open a dialog box to search for the file. The profile is recently created. Works in Indesign CS4. It's located in the main Library/Colorsync/Profiles/ and my user (~/Library/Colorsync/Profiles/). It doesn't show up even when checking the "include display profiles" checkbox which is the only option available.

I am running LR4 and CS6 on an HP desktop with 4Gig Ram, Win 7 Home, Profiled Monitor using DataColor.
In CS6, all my loaded ICC printer profiles appear when setting up the soft proofing...

The problem is that I print to an Epson 7600 CMYK printer with UltraChrome Ink and mostly on Canvas so I need to proof for that environment.
I have googled this found some posts about putting it under the Users folder. However I don't have a library under my username it comes under a folder called Shared.I'm using a Mac computer

I placed my custom profiles in there , however it still won't work.
I'm using both Lightroom 3.5 and Photoshop CS5 on a 64-bit Windowx XP-Pro system with 8GB of RAM and plenty of disk space.

I use an X-rite color checker to generate custom camera profiles whenever I do portraits or other color critical photo sessions. The camera profile is generally placed in the "Documents and Settings...{user...}Application DataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfiles " folder.
When I try to apply a profile in either lightroom or ACR the newely created profile is not visible in the camera profile drop-down box. When I check to see if the profile exists in the appropriate folder, it does.

I've used color profiles before and have always been able to create and select a profile. Now I'm no longer able to do this. I would prefer to not re-install all my Adobe software since then I'd have to reinstall all the updates and plug-ins.

How can I get lightroom and ACR to see these profiles and use them?
I've installed Adobe Lens Profile Downloader and found the lens I'm after but just can't download. The "download" button remains grey and unusable. I'm using Lightroom 3.

I've been using the program for 3 years now and they've always been there previously. The only one available is SIGMA. I have a Canon, so all of those are gone. At the bottom of the box in "Develop" it says "Unable to locate a matching profile automatically."

I am running on Windows and tried repairing, but it seems to be missing the installation file that it needs.Is there a way to download and install the profiles for just the lenses I have? Or, do I need to completely re-install? If that's the case, will all of my libraries stay in tact?
I have recently started using a printer profile (Epson photo 1270). My query is this. I take a picture with my camera (Canon 10D), which when viewed on my monitor in ACDsee looks about right, colors ok, just needs a few touches here and there maybe. I then open it in Photoshop using the printer profile and the pictures looks very different. Now I realise what is happening but I am having great trouble adjusting the picture back to how it looked originally(which I was fairly happy with). I also know that if I can adjust the picture to how it looked it will print out almost identical to how it looks on the screen, so that is ok. It just takes a lot of time to do this using the Photoshop tools, and it is so hit and miss to try and put it right and get back to the original colors etc. Is there a shortcut that can be used, using the color values from the original view before it was opened in Photoshop or something like that? It just seems a lot of work for every individual photograph I may want to print out. I can compare the two views of the same photograph by having Photoshop and ACDsee open together.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running under XP SP3 with Photoshop CS3 version 10.0.1 with an Epson R2400. All of the profiles are present in windows/system32/spool/drivers/color, but are not listed in Photoshop's printer profile list. Everything was working fine as recently as 3-4 weeks ago, and everything is still working fine in CS2 which is also installed on this machine (3.7gig processor with 1gig ram) and several large hard drives).
I noticed the problem after installing SP3 today, but the problem remained after I restored a Ghost image created just prior to the SP3 update. Thus, it seems not to be caused by SP3. I have reinstalled SP3 based on that conclusion.
The only items on the printer profile list look like things that ship with Photoshop such as Apple RGB.
I used to use Photoshop CS on my old computer. There it was possible to choose from a large list of profiles for different paper-types and different printers. I have now got a new Intel Mac (OS 10.8.3). I have installed Parallels so that I can run a 10.6 Snow Leopard server; and I have installed Photoshop CS2 in it. To my surprise and dismay, I cannot find out how to access the list of paper and printer profiles any more.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to print to my Epson PRO 3800, asking Photoshop to handle colors, this printer profiles are not available. I have this printer for years and have always used PS CS3 to print (and handle colors).
Now I have PS CS5 but continue to use 3 for printing to the 3800, because the Epson profiles disappeared from CS5. Now they have disappeared from CS3 too.
I cannot seem to see the custom Printer Profiles I have for certain papersin the Print Dialog.I have added the Print Profiles to Library > Application Support > Adobe > Color > Profiles (and also in Recommended)

But in the Print Dialog under Colour Management > Photoshop Handles Colour > Print Profile - they are not showing. I have done things like restarting Photoshop and converting the image to CMYK from RGB.

I can see the profiles in the Proofing menu and am able to select them.without using the profiles my colour management is completely off kilter.Also, can I confirm that I am putting the printer profiles in the correct folder?
Note that the Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat print dialogues see all my (custom) printer profiles.

Even Photoshop sees them in the Apply Profile and Convert to Profile dialogues: just not when trying to print.
A friend who is new to gimp asked if gimp can recognize epson printer color profiles? He told me that when he uses photoshop, it allows him to choose papers and color settings? Can gimp do the same thing?

1. Are the CMYK working space options in photoshop actually printer profiles? eg. U.S Web coated (SWOP) v2
2. I ask the guys who do the offset printing what printer profile they use and that is the one i should select in photoshop.
3. So when I soft proof it uses the CMYK working space and my file is previewed or it mimics what i would look like printed on the paper/ink combination at the printers.
4. All the CMYK working spaces available in photoshop are all ICC compliant?
I cannot change printer profiles in Colour Management on PSE10.  Whenever I try to do this it looks like I have changed it, and click OK...but when I check back it has actually not taken effect and has defaulted back to the original stored profile.  Consequently I cannot use different paper types now.  This has only just started happening and was ok before. I am using Mac OS 10.7.5 along with an Epson R3000.Â

I have tried a lot of different settings in the Color Management of PSP X4, in the Color Management of Windows (Win 7), and in the Printer Driver (Epson Stylus NX300), all with no success.
I also have problems when trying to SOFT PROOF these profiles in PSPX4: what I get is an unusable image covered with a deep fog, an image that is far from what is printed. And I know these printer profiles are good because they work correctly in Photoshop Elements 10.

When I start up PSE11 and go to print I set up the paper size then select a Printer Profile. When print the image it is a mess and seem to be black and white it is as if I printed on the wrong side of the paper.

I then go and try to print it again.  Now it all works as it should beutiful colours and spot on. all other print following this works.

Then I shut down PSE11.  Start it up again. Guess what first print is a mess again.  all others after are fine.

I uninstalled PSE11, deleted prefs. and reinstalled PSE11.   Same thing..  first print a mess all others ok.
no problems with PSE10 or PSE9.
Is there a possibility to load ICC profiles in elements 10?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having an issue in Corel VideoStudio Pro x4. I could not create custom video output files (profiles; see attached image). So I ran VideoStudio as admin. No luck. I reinstalled it as admin and ran it as admin. No luck. I tried manually changing the files corresponding to the default video profiles with notepad. Initially I was denied access. Through a rigorous method of trying to figure out why I was denied access to changing the files, I found out that I was denied access to even renaming the Corel folder (with nothing running corel programs).
I downloaded a better version of task manager to figure out what must be running in the background. Nothing was running anything located in the Corel folder. I still couldn't even rename the corel folder on an admin account. I booted in safe mode (and then I could change the folder name, etc), and changed one of the default video output profiles. The changes stuck even across computer reboots, but my changes were not recognized in VideoStudio (no clue why; I changed the profiles found in the profile subfolder of Corel).
So, I figured what with the sale going on, I might as well upgrade to Pro x6. Bought it. Uninstalled VideoStudio x4 completely. Deleted the Corel folder entirely from Program Files (x86). Installed VideoStudio x6. Got it launched as admin, attempted to create a profile, and got the same error. Trying to rechange the Corel folder results in the same denial of permissions that I used to have, even after running it as admin, disabling UAC, and changing the security permissions on the folder itself.
How to create a custom profile. Attached is example errors. Need tocreate a profile that is the exact same as the WMV HD 720 30p default profile, only with better sound (24 bits instead of 16 bits and/or 48/96KHz instead of 41KHz), and then direct me to which folder I should place said filed in (as changing stuff in the profile folder didn't seem to make much difference).

I am trying to print a psd file via CS4 and I am receiving the following error message: Before you can perform printer-relate tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer I DO have a printer installed and can in fact print out a different psd file.....and print something via Word. I tried to check my page setup for this document but I can't do that either. Any ideas of what might be causing this problem?? I even uninstalled and reinstalled my printer.....and rebooted too. If it matters, I am trying to print to a Canon MP980 printer via a wireless setup. I am running under Vista.

I migrated from XP and am very very happy with the way X3 runs on Windows 7 but I am having a big problem. I had a library of customized Windows Media Encoder settings (different bit rates, frame sizes, etc.) for output as .WMV files. When I try to copy or customize any of the existing encoder profiles (which all work just fine) the system does not allow me to save. I have set full permissions for the logged user and made sure the directory is not read only.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm printing notecards on Moab Entrada 190 wt. bright white paper. I've calibrated the monitor with a Color Munki and downloaded the paper profiles for the Epson 220. When I first printed it came out dark. Then I decided to update the printer driver and print again...no change. Then I added an adjustment layer to brighten the image and print. Two problems came about: the colors all of a sudden had a lavender tint in the grays and the image was smaller.Then, I removed the adjustment layer and the size returned to normal, the darkened image returned and the color shift was gone. How can I get it to print what I see on the monitor, so that it isn't dark? Also, I printed the image in Windows Picture Viewer and it came out fine as I saw it on the monitor!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI made a sketch. In order to make a hole in the middle of the "triangle", I had to create a tangent circle based on the triangle edges. And then make a new circle (to be the hole I need)Â and constrain it to the first tangent circle.
This way, if I change the size of the triangle, the hole I need (the inner one) will always stay in the middle of the triangle.
Anyway, when I try to extrude the different profiles of my sketch, something strange happens. As soon as I select the middle circle (not the inner one), 2 of the side outbreak's lose their extrusion.
Second question I have is why did my sketch (except for 2 blue lines) turn from blue to green after fixing loop problems?

I've created a bunch of lines which are touching each other but I can't seem to close them into a closed polyline area as I am trying to find the area of each individual profile.
I have tried moving the grips away and re attaching them, I have also extended all the lines and attempted to retrim them to ensure that they are closed, but none of this works.
The Fuzz distance is on 0, but I don't know if I am changing the profile in the units of millimeters so I am tentative to change this. But I just can't close the profiles.
When I go to print and select output, the mode selection is locked and I am unable to select separations. Using CS6.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy can't I get my Epson Printer to print the colors on the monitor>  First time this is happening.  Printer is new...ink okay...and history with the printer has been okay.  Took some photo's yesterday...blue heron, picking up a fish in a pond.  Water is blue...heron is grey and white and has other yellowish and maroon coloring as well. The fish he caught was a gold fish.  The colors on the monitor are wonderful.

The photo's were cropped severely.  But are still clear.   Now the water is pink...and the heron is a disgusting color of grey green.  Have chosen ICM...chosen Adobe color profile. Used premium glossy white papers, Epson inks. Â

Tried printing it out without ICM and with different papers....still the same...Either everything is hot pink, or dull gray brown. This was my first ever heron photo that had any merit, and I so want to print it out for everyone to see. I was so lucky to catch the fishing capture. Does the cropping have anything to do with the printing of the photo?
I just upgraded to X5 and now suddenly I am having difficulty printing to my dell 3110cn laser printer. I get the error, "Unable to access printer driver. Try removing and reinstalling this printer driver". If I click OK I get the error a couple of more times followed by "Internal application error." Then Corel Draw crashes. My PC is running Windows 7 64 bit.
I have tried re-installing the printer driver with the latest from dell and uninstalling and re-installing corel draw, but nothing has worked. I am about ready to go back to X4.
