Lightroom :: Lens Profiles Missing - Unable To Locate Matching Profile Automatically?
Feb 6, 2014
I have Lightroom 3 and just this morning noticed that all of the preloaded lens profiles are missing. I've been using the program for 3 years now and they've always been there previously. The only one available is SIGMA. I have a Canon, so all of those are gone. At the bottom of the box in "Develop" it says "Unable to locate a matching profile automatically."
I am running on Windows and tried repairing, but it seems to be missing the installation file that it needs. Is there a way to download and install the profiles for just the lenses I have? Or, do I need to completely re-install? If that's the case, will all of my libraries stay in tact?

Rather than manually applying lens correction profiles to images by each time having to correct one image and then sync with the rest, I would like LR 5 to automatically apply the appropriate lens correction (either by EXIF info or "default" profile) when importing from the camera (card).

Just came back from the camera store after testing out the Nikon Coolpix P7800 and Sony RX100ii. Imported the RAW files into LR 5.3 to compare the image quality of the cameras. I noticed that I could not assign camera and lens profiles to the photos. I currently have a Nikon P7100 which does show up in the drop down list and have had no problem doing lens corrections for the older camera. I thought the P7800 and RX100ii cameras were added in the latest update.

I recently returned from a photo trip where for the first time I used multiple camera bodies (I purchased a second 5D MII body).
When importing my photgraphs into Lightroom I find all the correct lens profiles are available to images shot with my original 5D MII body, but images taken with the new body are only presented with a default list of 15 profiles, which don't include several of the lenses I used.
I'm using LR 3.6 on Windows 7 64 bit and find that the full list of lens profiles is in the folowing folder:
C:ProgramDataAdobeCameraRawLensProfiles1.0
I also found the following folder present on the PC which had no profiles but and empty Dowloads folder.
C:UsersUserNameAppDataRoamingAdobeCameraRawLensProfiles1.0
So tried copying the profiles here but that didn't work either.
How I can correct this problem get all my profiles avalable to both bodies? I tried exporting the images to photoshop and downloading lens profiles via the Lens Correction Filter but that didn't work either.

I've been waiting for an update that includes a lens profile for the AF_S Nikkor 18-35mm 1:3.5-4.5 G W/A lens. I thought it would be in RC 5.2 or Camera RAW 8.2 RC. But, no. Closest I can now come is the more expensive 16-35mm W/A. I'm using this on the D600.

This is a Canon kit combination and it seems odd that it's not included in the Canon profile for lens correction. The EF-S 10-22 IS USM is there which is not a kit lens and quite expensive. Am I missing a step or do I have to download additional lenses from Adobe?

This document indicates that support for the Canon 18-200
Lens profile support | Lightroom 3, Photoshop CS5, Camera Raw 6
[URL]
was added in Lightroom 3.2. I am at Lightroom 3.6. Yet when I select Canon as lens type, the profile for Canon 18-200 it is not listed.
Where can I find it?

I have created default settings by serial number for my Canon Mark III 1ds which include enabled lens profile corrections. I then created a user preset with these default corrections. Next I imported a folder of RAW images shot with this same Canon camera with the user profile checked as part of the import. When I switch to the Develop module and check the Lens Corrections panel, I see that although it is checked for each file, the actual make, model and profile are not populated.
Is this a bug or am I overlooking something on import? I understand that in LR 4, you can apply specific lens and camera calibration profiles to camera serial numbers (noise reduction etc too).

Using LR 3.5.1. When applying Lens Corrections/Profile/Enable in Default, my Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 actual lens is being corrected by the profile for a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens. I can tell it's the wrong correction because the barrel distortion after using the default profile is not corrected, and when I manually select the 4-5.6 lens the correction is perfect. So I know the right data is embedded in the LR correction data bank but is not being used.
I found that when I set the profile Setup selector to "Auto" the correct lens is selected and the correction it makes is "correct." But then moving to the next photo it switches to Default again, selecting the wrong lens, and so has to be set to Auto for each photo. This action doesn't seem to me to me an expected result called "Setup." I need this for my home interior photography, and with hundreds of photos a week I don't want to manually operate this. This didn't happen until v.3.4 or 3.5, I think.
So, how do I get it to select the right lens as the Default, or get the Auto setting to stick? Either would do. (Seems to me they logically are the same thing).
In addition, why isn't it possible to have the profile itself enabled as a default perhaps in a preset - or is that possible and I don't know how to do it? In other words, once it's working right, why not make it an import preset for that lens?

I'm trying out the new Sigma 24-105 DG lens with my 5D M II. The lens profile is not yet in the list of Sigma lenses. I checked and my LR is up to date with the latest version 5.3. Is there a way to find the lens profile to import for LR lens correction function? Or do I just need to wait until LR updates for new lenses?

I'm a Sony user and installed the Lightroom 4 trial. It imported the old 3.6 catalog and gave me a nice new Lightroom 4 catalog. So far so good. Everything looked normal.
Now, when I import new .ARW (Sony Raw) pics into LR4, I'm not getting the lens information correctly. I use a tool call 'alphalensinfo' that reads .ARW files and creates .XMP files with the correct lens name. LR3.6 used to import the pics and read the XMP, giving a correct lens name in the LR catalog. LR4 seems to fail at this.
For instance, with my Samyang 8mm, Alphalensinfo would add the exif field to the XMP file saying "Samyang 8mm". LR3.6 then shows "Samyang 8mm" for the lens, after import. LR4 shows "---" for the lens.
Has something changed in the way LR 4 handles Lens EXIF information?

I use LR 4.4 (Windows 7, 64-Bit) and i missed unter DEVELOPMENT Lens Adjustments my Nikkor 70-200mm 1:4G ED, only the 70-200mm 2.8 is available. I hope that with Adobe Lens Profile Downloader this could be corrected, but on the download instructions i see that Adobe Air is necessary. This I do not understand. Do I have to buy first Adobe AIR?? Or would it be better to Upgrade from LR 4.4 to LR 5?

After upgrading to LR3.5 it seems that the lens correction lost some profiles (in particular 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 Nikon). It used to show this profile previously. I checked the file system and the profile(s) are in '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Nikon' as expected. Any thoughts to tell LR to show them to me?

I just bought the Tamron SP 90 2.8 DI MACRO USD and LR lens profiles only lists this lens for Canon (F004E) and Nikon (F004N). There is no profile for Sony (F004S) ! Any drawback if I use F004E or N ? Or better use a the profile of the older Model of that lens where there is a Sony profile ?

I'm trying to work out the optimal workflow for doing HDR (using HDR EFEX 2) on a set of images. I can apply LR's Lens Correction (Nikon, 17-55mm F2,8) and chromatic aberation removal on the whole set set (using LR Sync) before I export to HDR - then turn off the Chromatic Aberation fix in HDR - and that gives me one workflow.
However, that makes a lot of changes to the TIF's before I go in - so I am wondering if it would be better to export the RAW files converted to TIF using minimal changes from LR e,g, no CA fix or Lens Profile correction; let the HDR do its thing and then make profile corrections, Upright, etc upon return from HDR. However, when I get back from HDR and go into Develop with the returned file and go to Lens Correction, I cannot chose the 17-55mm F2.8 lens from the drop downs. There are only about 4 or 5 lenses now showing as Nikon possibilities-and the 17-55 is NOT among them.
How come I don't still see the full list of Nikon profiles - shoudln't I be able to apply any profile to a TIF (even an incorrect one) ?
I tried pasting the Develop Settings from a virtual copy where I had set the Lens Profile to 17-55 F2.8 - but that only turns on the Lens Profile 'filter' and does not actually force-on the specific correction.

When I use Lightroom 3.6 with pictures from Nikon D800, the lens profile for the Mikro Nikor 60 mm lens is not in the list of coice. However, when the picture is from a Nikon D5000, the same lens appears in the list. So, a lens profile exists, but is not open for pictures from the D800. The same is true for the 18-200 mm lens, which however is not suited for the D800 due to heavy vignetting at wide angle, and with the 70-300 mm, which gives good results.

Can you enable the lens profile settings for more than one image at a time? If multiple images were imported and the same lens was used for all of them can you batch process them without having to do one image at a time?

I have a couple custom lens profiles as lcp files. They worked in LR 3 and LR 4.2. But, even though I copied the folders with the lcp files into C:Program Files Adobe Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3 Resources Lens Profiles 1.0 LR 4.3 never finds the profiles.
I need to be able to apply these lens profiles (they are for my Rokinon 7.5 mm Fisheye lens).
How can I get LR 4.3 to 'find' them?
