I have used Tech Support twice in past 4 months trying to get the Edit function to work. Have reinstalled program twice from an On-line download license. When attempting to open EDIT, the system either cycle for 30 seconds and then simply disappears, or a pop-up appears "PSE 10 has stopped working" and cycles for 30 seconds and then closes the program.

I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.
How can the directories and path be named, that catalog can access the same picture files.

My digital camera has a tendency to distort as the image nears the outside of the frame. Is there a photoshop function that can correct this? I have tried the Transform functions (skew, distort, etc), and correcting half of the image is easy by dragging the corner grips away from the center to stretch the image, but, when I go to the opposite end of each given side, the distortion returns. The problem is the grip at the midpoint on each side moves with the rest of the side when using this feature. Is there a transform feature or other command that does something similar, but the midpoint grips stay stationary, basically taking the rectangular shape of the image and making it into an hourglass or four pointed star?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 on windows 7-64bit with a keyboard and a mouse. I have a problem with the default functionality of the "Alt" key in windows 7. For those of you that are familiar with the default functionality of the alt key in windows 7, please skip to the next paragraph. For those of you not familiar, pressing the alt key in most programs in windows will highlight the toolbar so that you can use the keyboard to make selections within your "File", "Edit", "View", etc. toolbars if your mouse goes dead.
My problem is that I use the Alt + Mouse Scroll for zoom all the time. I rely on that feature probably more than I should. Yes, I could use cntrl + or cntrl - for zoom but that means I have to take my right hand off my mouse and I use photoshop 8+ hours a day some days. Time is of the essence to complete projects by the deadline.
I've tried disabling the default alt function in windows 7 (didn't work because you can't without third pary openware). I've tried duplicating the shortcut in the Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts menu (didn't work because it doesn't recognize the mouse scroll).
This used to work, but now it won't work at all, even when opening a file from scratch.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI reset preferences, deactivated then reinstalled PS CS6 and CS6 64bit same issue. If I open PS CS6 (not x64) I can access preferences without a problem. I'm running windows 8 64bit. Everything else in x64 works normally (editing ect). Edit>Preferences>Camera Raw works. Anything else I choose in Preferences and PS freezes and I have to End Task in Task Manager.

You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" The only way i have got on photoshop since is on safe mode or by completely reinstalling photoshop until i restart my computer again. Is there anything wrong, I don't know if AVG is blocking something or what.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter Installing Corel X6 I found it's no longer possible to edit bitmaps directly from CorelDraw X5. I uninstalled Photopaint X5 but that didn't work. I checked the filetype and made sure that cpt files were opening with Photopaint X6 but Edit Bitmap remains greyed out in CorelDraw X5. Is this because X5 is 32 bit and X6 is 64 bit? I still need to use X5 because various macros don't work with X6. How can I get Edit Bitmap to work both in Draw X5 and Draw X6?

After selecting "Edit in CS5" I do not get the dialogue box asking if I would like to apply Lightroom adjustments.
Image opened in CS5 includes some adjustments from the Develop Module, but not the Transform Lens Corrections that I had applied.
Since i have updated to PS CC en Lr5.3 the edit in function in Lightroom doesn't function properly. Or sometimes not at all. I removed the adobe plist files. And then it will work. Accept when I restart the computer the next day. The problem keeps comming back! The operating system is Apple mavericks.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to collapse a group of edges in Edit Poly mode there is always 1 edge that is left intact therefore creating undesired results. This doesn't happen in Edit Mesh mode, and also behaves accordingly in previous versions of Max.

I'm using P&GD2013. I draw with a wacom tablet and use the freehand brush tool in sketch mode with pressure enabled. I want to edit the properties of the brush . The help pages are quite clear except that I can't access the dialog box because the 'edit brush' button is greyed out.

Seems like Multi-View Blocks are like that hot red-head in high school that you really want to get to know until you get to know them.
I made a bunch of blocks for my electrical plans. Annotative symbols for plan view, 3D blocks for model view, and elevation blocks for elevations. I then started creating the MVBs.
Upon insertion the annotative blocks appear super small and the model view blocks scale way up. The model view blocks are not annotative and are not supposed to scale at all. It seems MVBs see any block inside that is annotative as an indication that the entire MVB shall be annotative. Fustrated, I finally found a work-around that is a bit half-arsed:
I made another block as a sort of holder for the annotative symbols that was set to not be annotative and inserted that into the MVB. VOILA! the MVB itself doesn't scale, but the annotative symbol inside the non-annotative block does. This works fine except for one caveat: I can't edit attributes that are in blocks inside of blocks. If I made another block to use in the MVB for the attributes, it would work, so long as I don't make it annotative, which isn't what I want.
So, A) is there a better work-around than the block-in-a-block-in-a-multi-view-block method, or B) Is there a way to access and edit attribute data of sub-blocks inside a MVB?
Maybe my next thread will be about red-headed Multi-View Blocks with carpets that match the drapes.

Just upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and am attempting (unsuccessfully) to edit some MGEG2 content. The video content has been extracted from Windows DVRMS files using DVRMStoMPEGGUI. I can work with H264 content in Photoshop without a problem.
All MGEP2 videos play fine with both Quicktime and Windows Media Player.Here is what happens when I try to edit the file in Photoshop
File is read by photoshop and all looks fine. First frame is shown as expected. If I try to play the video in photoshop, the elapsed time counters at the bottom give the impression that all is well, but the video does not play.Attempting to trim the video does update the overall timings of the video, but the first frame is still displayed.Rendering the video as H264 appears to work - the export dialog appears and a file does get created. The H264 file export is playable, but consists of the first frame displayed continually for the duration of the video..
editing MPEG-2 video content in Photoshop and another thread suggested checking that the video content is playable via Bridge. Like with Photoshop, Bridge displays the first frame of the MPEG2 in the thumbnail, but attempting to play it locks up Bridge completely. Doing a "Reset Settings" with Bridge made no difference.

URL.... "Failed to launch server application" when trying to edit a bitmap out of CorelDraw, only later saw that specific post was for X3. I have the same trouble, only with X4.
To recap my problem: When calling the "edit bitmap" function in X4 - I receive this message: "Failed to launch server application". Paint opens, closes, opens, closes and then the message pops up.
I tested several files, different bitmaps, different dpi's, new files with newly converted bitmaps (filled rectangle to bitmap). To no avail.
I'm trying to access the ruler tool in elements 9. I got to the eyedropper icon, point at it, click and hold, but the window with the options does not open. Is there another way to access this tool?

The program has had no issues until the last 2 weeks. The actual issue I am having is Paint works fine as a separate entity however when I try to edit a bitmap from within X4 an error pops up telling me "Failed to launch server application" This is a major PITB as I own a graphics company and this is causing no end of problems
I wanted everyone to find it. In the older Windows programs, you can choose which program opens in editing, but in Windows 7 that feature is disabled. If you download the following program, click File Type Settings > Context Menu > then, for example "PNG" extension-- you can choose which program OPENS a PNG, which program EDITS a PNG, etc. That way you can view a photo in Windows Photo Viewer, but edit in Photoshop.
