Photoshop :: How To Access Edit Original (edit With) Option To Edit Photo That Has Not Been Edited
Sep 3, 2013I am trying to access the edit original (edit with) option to edit a photo that has not been edited yet. I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.
Photoshop :: 3D Text - Possible To Edit Level Options
Nov 17, 2013I'm new to Text Extrusions in Photoshop CC (Ext) as I typically model in a 3D app. I'm modeling text that will merge with a photographic background. All the tools are fairly straightforward, but I keep getting hard edges on the text bevels. I just want a basic smooth rounded bevel (fairly narrow). But the bevel options I choose all tend to create a dark outline at the bevel. Is it possible to edit the bevel options?
Also, even though I have selected soft shadows, the shadows cast by the letter form onto itself have hard edged ray trace shadows. Is there a setting the will soft the shadow edges? I have viewed a couple of useful tutorial videos, but they don't address the issues I'm trying to solve.
Photoshop :: Lightroom 4.3 Edit In Options Lost On Upgrade From CS5 To CS6
Jan 12, 2013I've hit since upgrading my Photoshop installation from CS5 to CS6 about a week ago. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 and all was fine when I had PS CS5 installed. Since installing CS6, however, Lightroom can no longer find my Photoshop installation and, as a result, all the Photoshop-specific "Edit In..." options offered by Lightroom ("Merge to panorama", "Open as Smart Object", "Open as layers", etc) are greyed out. I use these a lot and would really like to get them back but I can't see anything that lets me point Lightroom at my Photoshop installation other than adding it as a new external editor (which doesn't reinstate these options).

Feb 27, 2012I am just starting out with the Photoshop CS5 trial. I am trying to apply a triangular pattern to a thin rectangular shape. I used the custom shape tool>triangle, then defined the pattern successfully.However, when I apply the pattern it partially repeats it along the vertical as well as the horizontal axis. Please see attached screenshot:
I only want it to repeat horizontally, what am I doing wrong?
Also, I am Fireworks CS5 user and am really missing the properties inspector panel which allows you to quickly and esily edit sizes of objects, is there a Photoshop equivalent of this?........at the moment the only way I can find to edit objects is through Edit>Free Transform.
Lightroom :: Prompt Disappeared For RAWs Edit Original Or Edit A Copy?
Dec 16, 2013I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
3ds Max :: Unable To Edit Vertices In Edit Poly Mode
Apr 2, 2012I was trying to play around with the software to get to know it, and... well, I think I made something weird in it. Everything was flowing nicely when I was following the tutorial about Editing Objects: I created a box, I selected that edit poly option from the modify tab and I could edit vertices totally nicely.
But then, I really don't know what happened, but, I don't know exactly when, I suddenly could not move the vertices AT ALL. They are pretty visible, but when I select them, they turn red and the axis are not editable! I'm so confused! I can edit the axis very normally if I'm using an option like Select and Move but... With the edit poly thing I just cannot! I tried everything I thought of: Made a new box, restarted the program, restarted the PC! But NOTHING worked.
EDIT: It took me almost an hour to figure out I wasn’t selecting the Select and Move tool!

All of the tutorials I have viewed about this have one common theme: the best way to edit photos in photoshop is to create multiple "layers" of the original background image so that different types of edits can be made to each layer, and not the original. This way the edits made to each layer can be compared to the original to make sure everything looks the way it should. Once all the edits have been made, then each layer is merged into one final touched up image, correct? Here is what is driving me mad. I have been lead to believe that when I edit a layer of an image, that any edits I make are only supposed to show up in the active layer and not in the original or any of the other layers I create. Is this true? If so, how can I set up my editor so that the edits I am making are only showing up in the layer I am actually working on? It seems to me that if the edits I make are going to show up in every layer, along with the original, then there is no need to use layers at all for editing photos.
