Feb 11, 2013I cannot open an image from lightroom 4 in my photoshop elements 10 for editing. When I click on edit in - the photoshop option is grayed out.

Dec 1, 2012I have set up Lightroom 4.2 to edit my photo in Elements 10 as the external editor. When I try to do that, Elements opens but my photo is not copied into Elements and I have a blank screen.

Oct 7, 2012I have just installed Photoshop Elements 11 and LR 4.2. For the first time in my experience the edit in photoshop is grayed out. All my NIK software is recognized, only photoshop is grayed out.
I have the external editor set for TIFF, 16-bit.

May 25, 2012I recently purchased Lightroom 4 and tried to edit in Elements 10. I got the same error message that has become popular on many forums. I purchased Lightroom 4 with the intent of editing in Elements so this is very frustrating. Also, what is RC2 that I have seen referred to on many posts?

Dec 16, 2013I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.

Sep 3, 2013I am trying to access the edit original (edit with) option to edit a photo that has not been edited yet. I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.

Feb 1, 2014I am still having a difficult time understanding how to use layers to edit photos in photoshop elements 12. All of the tutorials I have viewed about this have one common theme: the best way to edit photos in photoshop is to create multiple "layers" of the original background image so that different types of edits can be made to each layer, and not the original. This way the edits made to each layer can be compared to the original to make sure everything looks the way it should. Once all the edits have been made, then each layer is merged into one final touched up image, correct? Here is what is driving me mad. I have been lead to believe that when I edit a layer of an image, that any edits I make are only supposed to show up in the active layer and not in the original or any of the other layers I create. Is this true? If so, how can I set up my editor so that the edits I am making are only showing up in the layer I am actually working on? It seems to me that if the edits I make are going to show up in every layer, along with the original, then there is no need to use layers at all for editing photos.
