Whenever I draw a box on the page using the foreground color, the background color is applied as a 1px border (I believe) and is accompanied with the box.
When you go to select the background color, there doesn't seem to be any 'use no color for background' option. It's also not being added in the 'layer options' box either (as a stroke).
How do I remove that the outside background color?
What is the proper syntax for removing a bmp file inserted into a drawing border defintiion? I am using VB.net.
I got all the way into editing the sketch of my border defintion...
I know the name of the sketch image I want to delete it's something like "C:Temp12345678.bmp"
So I wanted to use the name to get the image file and set it to a variable. Then run the .Delete() command on that. But it's not working.
This is what I have, where oCSTicBorderDef is equal to the border defintiion of the active document..

I've created a graphic in photoshop, used the Save for Web function (to a gif), and got a thin black border around the resulting image... which I don't want. The image is meant to integrate onto a web page with a white background without showing the borders of the image.
I've inferred that this box around the image is the bounding box. In print with preview, the preview shows the box. If you check off the "show bounding box" option, the box disappears and the print preview image looks the way I want my gif to look.
Even with a completely image-free psd file, it defaults to putting this box around the canvas.
I find it hard to believe that you can't create a border-free gif in photoshop, but I don't seem to be able to figure out how to turn it off.
I have adobe photoshop 7.0, and I want to use for some basic things, but even after searching I'm unsure if and/or how it can be done. Basically I want to "cut out" part of a picture like a cookie cutter, and then place it on a different background. For example, if there is a picture of a lion at a zoo, I want to isolate the lion, and paste it on a african sahara backdrop.
I'm not looking to do anything fancy, its just for a personal project, but I don't even know what terms to search for in the help section of photoshop. I've always had trouble finding how to do this and I don't know why because has to be one of the most common procedures in graphic design. Is this accomplished by using a mask or what..?
I have a drawing that has a white background.
I would like to add more to the white background to make it bigger without having to stretch it and distort the image.
I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?
I'm trying to do something which may indeed be very simple, but I have failed to find the answer thus far...I need to remove the 1px black border around the project document as it's interfering with something i need to do...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am creating animated buttons for my new topsite pages and cannot seem to rid my image of the white border around the logo in both layers. I first used the polygon lasso tool to crop the logo from the original image and pasted it into a transparent background. I then turned it into an animated gif. Any ideas on how to remove the white edges from around the black ring of the logo (see image) I've just about tried everything I can think of. You probably cannot see what I mean with this background, but on a darker background like blue or green it is really noticeable.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm just finishing up with a command that sets up custom paperspaces for our designers, and once it's done, it deletes the default Layout1 and Layout2 paperspace. The error i'm getting though is the following:
If a drawing contains Layout1 and Layout2, both are deleted as they should be
If a drawing contains Layout1 but not Layout2
or
If a drawing contains Layout2 but not Layout1
I get an error and it crashes. This seems really stupid i know, but i must be doing something wrong here. I'm using if statements to determine if Layout1 exists, then delete it, and if Layout2 exists, then delete it. However, it seems that every time, if one of those layouts are missing, it still assumes it's there, tries to delete it, and errors out because it doesn't exist. I've tried many variations of "if" statements.

I have the default border set in all my templates but I want to add an outside border to the default border (so everything is ultimately enclosed in a large box). How can I add that to the default? I see where I can define a new border but I can't have two borders on the same drawing so how do I combine them? I want to keep the existing "smart" default border that lets me choose how many zones etc.

View 5 Replies View RelatedDrawing A has a grid system Xref-ed into it. It also has a block reference in it, repeated in various places throughout the drawing.
I Xref-ed the grid into the block to check something, and now I can't get it out. This means that the grid now repeats all over Drawing A as well and is generally being a nuisance.
If I try to unload the Xref within the block, it unloads it in Drawing A too. If I try to detach it from the block, it returns this message: Xref [Xref name] has multiple references. Not detached. If I try to detach the Xred from Drawing A, it returns the same message.
How do I unload the same Xref that occurs in a block in a drawing, and in the drawing itself, independently of each other?
have default text for a Prompted Entry in a Border. I have not found a way to do this other than creating a custom iProperty, which is not an option, since it is not our title block / border.

I would have thought you could do this through the "Edit Sheet" or "Define New Title Block / Border" options. I have multiple customized title blocks, which each require their own margin offsets.

Is it possible to edit text formatting (e.g. font, font size, alignment) on mulitple text boxes, rather than having to right click each and click Edit Text? Ctrl+right click doesn't bring the option up to edit text.
I am trying to put together a lisp routine for exporting a Civil3D drawing to basic autocad entities and convert it to a clients layer standards.
I don't want any user input, so I see two problems with the routine at the moment.
Step 2. SAVEAS - I want the drawing to be saved in the same directory as the current drawing, either called "CLIENT_export.dwg" or preferably "Export_{current drawing name}.dwg". If the dwg exists I want it either to overwrite or increment a suffix number.
Step 4. At the moment it askes the user for a selection, I want it to select "ALL"

Can add selection boxes or pick boxes to a block?
Here's the situation. I have a block that will be inserted showing a piece of angle iron that is used for a stiffener. We have various sizes that will need to be used. Instead of typing in the angle size each time it's inserted can I have a list of all the angle sizes and then a pick box or radial dial or something to be selected and that is what is put in the block?

I merged some smll elements together with the pathfinder-unite command, but it is still to heavy. So I have to delete some other elements. The problem is that I want to get rid of all the small objects, but I dont know how to select them. It is a topograpic map with for example houses, lamp post et cetera, but I actuallly need only the build areas.

What the code returns is the text <FILENAME>. What I need is the filename itself.
When using mtext and a background mask and try to modify the border offset factor from the default of 1.5 , the factor reverts back to 1.0. If I type in 1.25 or 1.75, it will not save it and revert to 1.0. If I put in a larger number like 2.0 or 3.0, that factor will be retained.

Using Inventor I have a drawing border in which tolerance values change depending on the type of fabrication to be produced. The type of fabrication (0,1,2,or 3) is designated by a custom property entered during part/fab model creation.
This property may change depending on various production factors. The issue I have is how do I get the border to recognize this potential change in fab type and populate the tolerance fields with the necessary information?
I have a 3D drawing of a phone, and there seems to be a reflection or glare covering it and it is really annoying.
The screen portion is supposed to be white, as well as the buttons. The border of the black section is gray, as is the edge of the phone.
I have 4 layouts all from the same drawing that I need desperately to print now. But for some reason only the border and Title block will print for me. What have I done to cause this? And how can I rectify it? I need to print these tonight
