Is there any option in cs6 to disable the transparent pixel , the shape setting is in 0 feather setting yet the shape comes with transparent pixel . Is it possible to create vector shape as crisp as illustrator ?
View 1 RepliesI wanna use to shapee tool or whatever- ractangle tool- Generally said I need to create some shape. But at photoshop is everything snap my new shape to pixels. Like in the backroground is some invisible pixel grids and everything is snaping to whole pixels. I dont want this. I Want to use whole space without automatic pixels adapting to my shapes. I want to be independent in creating my shapes without snaping to pixels grid.
And also want to ask you. If you would like create new guide lines it is non dependable on pixel grid. But after it when I want to snap my nex objects to it- it not possible. And when I tick in preferences/ general: ,,snap vector tool to pixel grid" everything become dependable to pixels and everything is snapping to pixels. I don t wanna this…
Is this possible? I'm in Windows, Photoshop 7.0. I also have a pretty early version of Illustrator, not sure which one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a Nikon D800E and on my first day of shooting I noticed a hot pixel spot in my images in Bridge. The when I opened the files in ACR, the hot pixel spot was gone. Apparently this is a "feature" of ACR: it automatically replaces hot pixels with RGB values from neighboring pixels. (So those of you who think you have no hot pixels, think again - you might be shielded from the truth! I find this fact very disconcerting, but that's a separate issue...).
The problem is that I can't tell how many hot pixels there are. Based on the image in Bridge, it would have to be spot of 20 - 30 pixels (maybe even more). That's unacceptable to me, especially on a $3300 camera. Sure, maybe a few hot pixels spread around the image, but 20-30 bunched in that one spot, that's unacceptable.
However, I can't figure out how to disable the automatic hot pixel correction in ACR, so I don't know if the issue really is 20 - 30 hot pixels or if Bridge is just doing some type of sub-sampling that makes the problem look a lot worse than it is. Furthermore, this concerns me greatly because I've been using a D200 for many years and have never seen a single hot pixel issue. So that says to me that the sensor on my D800E has a bigger hot pixel issue than it should (I realize all sensors have some hot/dead pixels).
How to go about figuring this out? The simplest solution is to disable the automatic hot pixel correction in ACR, but I can't figure out how to do that. I'm guessing it's not possible.
With Preferences > General > Snap to Pixel Grid turned off, I can move individual points without snapping. But if I select an entire path, it always snaps to the pixel grid no matter what I do. Is there a way to turn it off?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using for a while and still haven't found a way to vectorize graphics. I can't really think of a "professional" way to ask this, but is there any way to change medium of preference to vector?
I figure if a less prestigious program like Corel can render in vector and if Adobe's little flash program can manage it, there has to be a way to switch from pixel to vector graphics in Photoshop.
I don't mean rasterize or vector mask. I'm already working at 500 dpi to minimize the jitter from my unsteady pen hand, but working in vector would be ideal for me so my linearts cease to look like they were drawn by a crack addict in withdrawal. =/
If anyone knows how I can switch mediums, or if there's a plugin that can make the switch for me, let me know.
When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.

I can't seem to find the anwser anywhere. Whenever I make any shape it keeps bringing the panel up.
I have an irregular shape (silhouette of a horse) in a darker color that I need to have cleanly bordered with 1 or 2 pixels (white).
Any hints? -I tried duplicating / desaturate / brighten / transforming the layer and ended up with (predictably) bad results.
Is there a trick to pasting a pixel-perfect vector image from Illustrator into Photoshop as a smart object, and not introduce a bunch of anti-aliasing that was not in the original file? My images are perfectly aligned with the pixel grid in Illustrator, and the pixel preview shows them correctly.
This page is useful for dealing with vector shape layers, but the techniques he talks about don't work for smart objects. Strangely, he says he doesn't have a problem with smart objects, but I do.
Here is an example of what I'm talking about: a simple 13x13 pixel image in Illustrator turns to crap in Photoshop when pasted as a smart object (I know an image as simple as this could be pasted as a shape layer, but the real images I'm working with are much more complex, and cannot be pasted as simple shape layers).

I had a look into the old discussion on this forum and found few things in the discussion "raster image .gif". I would like to get an addon that would be a 1 time buying and cheaper as a complete new investment into a whole soft like vector magic.
I made a vector shape of an arrow (see below) and then rasterized the layer.
Then I double-clicked the layer and gave the grey shape a 1px black stroke outline. Only after hitting OK, the 1px black stroke shows up as a thick, grey stroke.
I cannot find how to fill a vector shape. When I mouse over the vector mask thumbnail in the layer's pallette I only get three options, if I right click I only get blending options.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using the pen tool for more than 2 years already, but when I started using CS6, I have lots of difficulties using the pen tool. I use the pen tool for vector portraits and I need to use opacity 8 for every vector.
But when I add another shape on top of it, it gets back to 100% opacity, so I have to change it to opacity 10 again. This has caused me to spend a lot of time on something else than trying to make my work quick and fast.
Is there any way to "simplify" an existing vector shape layer by somehow "averaging out" curves to remove as much of the unnecessary anchors as possible?
For instance, a simple sphere can be just 4 anchors. The one I'm working with has 100 anchors. The vast majority of them are useless, and only make the shape look uneven upon close (zoom-in) inspection. If there was an option, perhaps one with a slider ever, that allowed me to "simplify" this vector shape by removing anchors and adjusting angles to compensate .
When i draw a vector shape using the shape tool and then resize it, it becomes distorted and pixelated as though it has been trandformed into a bitmap image.
Any ideas why it's doing that? Is there any options i need to change. It's never done it before.
Also, when i start a new document and draw a new shape it merges it to the background layer instead of creating a new layer automatically which it used to do.
I have spent hours trying to do this simple task in Gimp without luck. What I'm looking for is the border effect (without outer shadow) seen in the three embedded screenshots in this image: [URL]
In inkscape it's a matter of adding a square on top of the image with identical dimensions and making the stroke colour semitransparent and the fill colour completely transparent, but image quality suffers badly when exporting from svg to png or jpg again, and I'd prefer doing it in Gimp.
So, take image, say 100 by 100, add 1 pixel inner transparent border - how? I have seen this effect enough to suspect it's a filter option but haven't found anything in my filters.
How to get my shape outline back? Adjusting the panel preferences has no effect. Really obnoxious bug, since obviously I can't even see my shape until I select it (and even then, it's pretty hard to find).
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen you use the Photoshop CS6 new function stroke on the path of a vector shape, how can you convert the result in a vector shape ? Merging multiple vector shapes doesn't work. The strokes outlines are not vectorized in the new vector shape.
It's possible to convert in pixel and keep the stroke drawing, but no way to convert in vector. Illustrator has a similar function in order to vectorize the stroke.
I try and try to get how vector points work... within Illustrator and within the pen tool in Photoshop and just cannot get to grips with it. So when i create a logo I tend to start my work in photoshop where generally i will end up with a font and a shape.
Now i understand the basics, such as not resizing the shapes / fonts if they are rasterized etc and generally keeping things crisp looking within photoshop but my problem comes when trying to turn my reletivly simple font and shape into a vector based image so that it can be scaled up and down
My logos look immaculate when viewed at 100% in photoshop, but as soon as i create a work path from the selection it never makes a crisp path, with all the correct curves and straight edges that i expect to see.
Up till now, i always assumed it was just the original fonts that i use and they just arent created completly smooth. But now my work path is really wonky. Whether i use a tolerence of 0.5 or not.. it just doesnt hug my lettering at all. The marching ants i see are even better placed than the work path.
Ps. I use CS6
I have tried to no avail but how on earth do i shape a word into this shape. with the straight line on the top and pointed on the bottom. trying to convert this to vector.
