I've been trying to get a natural looking, slightly crumpled/torn paper effect but have had little success.. THIS WEBSITE is exactly what i'm looking to recreate.. not only the background but also the top of the header and the "torn straight out a notebook" paper halfway down the screen.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to create the effect of crumpled paper WITH text on it. The image should look like somebody typed a letter on a typewriter, and then crumpled it up and opened it up again. It's easy enough to do the crumpled paper effect, but I'm having difficulty making the text conform to the myriad creases of the crumpled paper, so that it looks like the text actually was crumpled (because, after all, the text is now part of the paper).
I have tried a bunch of blending methods, but am having no luck. Do you think this might be a manual warping job?
I have a banner heading that is more or less outlined text. I want to give all the corners a rounded corner and at the moment would just do it all by hand, one at a time. So I want to go from a to b:
But I would like to find an easy way to make all corners the same diameter regardless of the angle too.
I draw square. The 1st point and last points are left-top and finally set 5 points. The direction is clock-wise and made closed path.To get smooth-curved polygon shape, I used API 'PointsToCurves'.But, the first and last points are connected by cornered (not smooth) point. Here's result.
Maybe, I must set that square is closed path, to API, but it seems to be no parameter to set.So, I want to know how to get smooth corner shape every corner.I use SDK CS5.
i like to know how this is done?
the corner part.
I'm using oldschool 7 version and I'm very happy with it for my little needs. I'm trying to make something that is probably very simple for an expert:
As you can see the corner is fading gradually into white... while shrinking also in width (passes from 2px to 1px width).
This is probably a simple question, but how do I round to corner of an image?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to add a Corner Anchor Point to an exisiting path. The Add Anchor Point tool always creates a smooth point, which I then have to go back and convert to a corner point. Seems to me, in earlier versions, I was able to use the Pen tool, then hold ALT and click twice to achieve this. CS6 doesn't respond to that procedure. Is there some other trick?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know just enough to get by in Photoshop but have had zero training, so I tend to jimmy rig everything until it looks okay. I am stumped on this one though.
I bought a web template and am modifying the images to what I need them to be. I can not for the life of me figure out how they did this rounded corner and shadowing on the corner. I can easily, manually copy the two lines going up the sides of the image. (Jimmy rig) ... but I can't seem to get the corner to look right.
I know it looks like a drop shadow, but you'd need to know all the colors and exact settings to copy that drop shadow and all i have is the finished product.

The image is on it's own layer so I thought the easiest way was to use "Stroke" in "Layer Styles". But when I do this the corners are always rounded off. I am trying to turn up one corner so that I can put a logo (or other small image) on the page that the upturned corner reveals.
In other words, one page is on top of another. I want to turn up (or curl back) a corner of the top page to reveal the exposed area on the 2nd page.

View 2 Replies View Relatedunder the Transform command I use the distort function quite a bit, usually to correct lense distortion. When using the distort function I use the mouse to select a top left or top right corner handle and drag it to a point where I am happy with the result. I want to do the same but instead of using the mouse I want to use the keyboard direction arrows to effect the same change. At present if I select the left top corner handle, and I use the keyboard arrows the whole image moves in that direction. It will not apply the same action as the mouse does. The reason for wanting to use the keyboard is I want more control over the correction. I find using the mouse a bit all over the place in getting the correct point.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop elements 2.0 for mac and have read your "Making round corner rectangles in Photoshop" I think that Elements must not have the this option. I'm missing the paths (Create Work Paths Tool) (Vector Shape tool) Everytime I use the "rounded Corners Rectangle tool" It makes rounded corners but it does it in reverse.
I takes away the middle of my photos instead of the outside of the photos. I can't seem to reverse this or invert it. I tried clicking in invert and nothing happens. It just always takes away the center of the photo.
What can I do???

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using photoshop CS6 since it came out of beta, and I've been happy with 99% of the interface changes, except for some of the the new tool cursors which now have arrows in the upper left corner. I've been meaning to post this a while ago, but it seemed that the forums were offline.
One example is the crop tool, but what mainly hinders me are the lassos and paint bucket cursor icons. Is there any way I can replace those with the original ones from cs5 and prior?
When you pick up a tool, and it has an icon of an object (i.e. a lasso), your instinct is to look at and use the tip of that object, not some little black arrow in a corner.
For example, you wouldn't want to have an arrow next to your text cursor, or next to your magic wand cursor, would you? You'd want to use the tip of the wand.
I'm not sure what part of the user community suggested these little arrows be added on those tools, but I find it to be a bad design idea. And it's an annoying choice imo, beacause it doesn't make sense from an interaction design point of view, and not because it would be hard for me to get wrid of my habit of using the tip of the lasso, and to get used to the arrow instead. It's bad, because now, there are two conflicting pointers in the same tool: the icon tip and the arrow tip.
[EDIT] I'm sure people will say that they prefer the new design, arguing about "design consistency" and whatnot. So this is why I ask if there's a way for me to replace the cursors in my photoshop, not everyone's.
how to change the "corner radius" for the shape tool's polygon tool. I set it to 6 sides and with SMOOTHED CORNERS off, it creates a hexagon as expected. But if I turn on SMOOTHED CORNERS, it almost makes a circle, the corners are excessively rounded. I see no option to control how smoothed/rounded these corners are.
When I lower this to 3 sides, I can see PS is heavily rounding the corners. At this point, I simply don't think there's an option to do what I want here. I know in AI, you can hold the arrow keys to add/remove corners and increase/decrease rounded corners, but PS CS5 doesn't seem to support that.
