I am creating a 4 by 6 business card and I am trying to put a photo in the upper right corner. The original photo is crisp and in high resolution, but after cropping and down-sizing it and dragging it into my project, it loses its resoultion.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently found out about the 3D features in Photoshop and I started to experiment with them. I've created some nice extrusions. However, when I try to start the render of my current project, it waits a short while and then continues on rendering the rest of the image, leaving a grey box in the upper-left corner. When I zoom in, I can see that the texture is in place and the box starts at the border of the 3D object, not at the border of the image.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Intel i5-2430M (2.4 GHz), nVidia GeForce GT555M (1 GB) and 8 GB of RAM. I've rendered my other projects successfully with the same settings (all highest quality, though very slow). Could this possibly be a bug in the software, is it an error of mine or is this 3D document just irrenderable?
If i zoom in image so it's bigger than "Fit on Screen" then if open/create or go to other opened image and return to 'zoomed' one, PS reposition area i see to right upper corner.
View 3 Replies View RelatedA friend asked me to create a logo similar to The North Face by using a song name. The upper right corner needs to be rounded allowing the color fill between the two silver parts. It looks somewhat ok, but as you can see it is not very proportional. I tried the aics_scripts file that I found from searching, but i can't get it right, most likely because the curve in the logo is not perfect. I have linked jpegs of 2 possibilities - the third image is made from creating a border in the appearance but then i cant get an additional outline around it with the silver color

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen exiting a drawing by clicking on the small X in the upper right corner of the drawing, my program routinely "stops working". I get the error message that it has stopped working and it closes. No chance to save work in other drawings open at the time. I often have three or four drawings open so my only workaround is to go through each and save, then close the one I want to close, let the system crash and reopen the other drawings. It does not crash every time but several times a day.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop elements 2.0 for mac and have read your "Making round corner rectangles in Photoshop" I think that Elements must not have the this option. I'm missing the paths (Create Work Paths Tool) (Vector Shape tool) Everytime I use the "rounded Corners Rectangle tool" It makes rounded corners but it does it in reverse.
I takes away the middle of my photos instead of the outside of the photos. I can't seem to reverse this or invert it. I tried clicking in invert and nothing happens. It just always takes away the center of the photo.
What can I do???
I have a banner heading that is more or less outlined text. I want to give all the corners a rounded corner and at the moment would just do it all by hand, one at a time. So I want to go from a to b:
But I would like to find an easy way to make all corners the same diameter regardless of the angle too.
How do I get a double arrow pointer (cursor)to drag corners? I only get an icon with three hands and cannot change it in the Edit-cursor tools.

The 1st point and last points are left-top and finally set 5 points.The direction is clock-wise and made closed path.To get smooth-curved polygon shape, I used API 'PointsToCurves'.But, the first and last points are connected by cornered (not smooth) point. Exporting my photo’s from iPhoto to the desk top and then importing to Photoshop Organizer 11, ALL photo’s show “Missing File” icon (?) in the top left corner when I eliminate photo’s from iPhoto. Why do I have to keep photo’s in iPhoto? Is there a workaround?
If I import iPhoto photo’s directly within Organizer I loose photo information.
When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.

I have my main photo with 6 layers including a tree and figures which I can move independantly and the background is the checkerboard as the main layers are turned off with only my selections showing. I also have another photo where I have selected part of it and also turned off the main layers leaving a small part with checkered background. When I have the main photo loaded and drag the other one from the photo bin with the move tool, nothing appears on the main picture. I have already dragged the Christmas tree in the same way and that worked. By the way, all the files are .PSD.

stored it by edit/copy (or strg/c)
opened photo 2
edit/insert (or strg/v)
object appears in photo 2, but without the frame it was supposed to come with - and by which I could enlarge / minimize / shift it....
made a mistake or software error?
I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.
