Illustrator SDK :: How To Get Smooth Corner Shape Every Corner
Jun 9, 2012
I draw square. The 1st point and last points are left-top and finally set 5 points. The direction is clock-wise and made closed path.To get smooth-curved polygon shape, I used API 'PointsToCurves'.But, the first and last points are connected by cornered (not smooth) point. Here's result.
Maybe, I must set that square is closed path, to API, but it seems to be no parameter to set.So, I want to know how to get smooth corner shape every corner.I use SDK CS5.
I have a banner heading that is more or less outlined text. I want to give all the corners a rounded corner and at the moment would just do it all by hand, one at a time. So I want to go from a to b:
But I would like to find an easy way to make all corners the same diameter regardless of the angle too.
I have created a pie chart and ungrouped the slices. When I use the white arrow to select the slices, two of the shapes are missing a live corner widget in one corner. So, when I move the corners, some of the corners remain unchanged. Also, the large blue shape on the right will not change at all.
I'm trying to use Smart Guides to align a small arc to a corner so I can merge it into a larger shape. Well, I've grabbed my arc on one of the anchor points and I drag it to the larger shape's path but no snapping, no "path" or "intersection" labels show up. I've got all the options for Smart Guides checked off and I've got Snap to Point enabled but still no luck. It makes precise alignment a guessing game.
how to change the "corner radius" for the shape tool's polygon tool. I set it to 6 sides and with SMOOTHED CORNERS off, it creates a hexagon as expected. But if I turn on SMOOTHED CORNERS, it almost makes a circle, the corners are excessively rounded. I see no option to control how smoothed/rounded these corners are.
When I lower this to 3 sides, I can see PS is heavily rounding the corners. At this point, I simply don't think there's an option to do what I want here. I know in AI, you can hold the arrow keys to add/remove corners and increase/decrease rounded corners, but PS CS5 doesn't seem to support that.
Firstly, I'm using Illustrator CS6. I'd like to round a specific corner of a shape (a rectangle to be specific). I've seen in other posts that the CornerEffects.jsx script should work. But every time I select my rectangle, go to File > Scripts > CornerEffects.jsx I get this pop-up.
Using Inkscape, I can easily create an hexagon with rounded courners. The result in below in yellow (the right hexagon). It's possible to see that not only the corners are rounded, but the entire shape is (the lines around the hexagon aren't completely straight). I am now trying to acheive the same effect with Illustrator CS6, but I can't find out how. The closest I got is the white hexagon below (on the left). The corners are rounded but the lines are straight.
How can I create an hexagon identical to the one in yellow above with Illustrator?
I have a bent path, standard 90 degree corner. Illustrator CC is not allowing me to align the stroke to the inside of the path/corner. The inside and outside options are grayed out when this path is selected.
Of course, I can create a shape and then all three options for path alignment are usable. But if I cut a gap into the path of that shape it instantly reverts to a center aligned stroke. I can create what I need manually. But this is a time addition.
I'm working in Illustrator CS3. Recently the program has begun to do something I have never notice before. If I use the round corner's filter: Filter>Stylize>Round Cornors then every box I create after using it has rounded corners that I cannot get rid of. Things drawn with the pen tool also have rounded corners I cannot get rid of. The only way to stop the problem seems to be to open a new document and then the tools are set back to their default without automatically rounding corners.
Who do I use the rounded corners filter on a single object at a time and not get to automatically be applied to all subsequent objects created.
InDesign CS4 has a "Corner adjustment for dashed stroke" feature which allows corners of a dashed stroke to have the dash part instead of a gap or a small part of a dash. Interestingly, I cannot find this feature in Illustrator CS4. I believe it is included in Illustrator CS5.Is this feature indeed absent from Illustrator CS4?
I am aware of 'round corners', but I can't find the command or tools to round individual corners. I searched the manual but can't find anything. Perhaps it's so obvious I'm looking right past it.
A friend asked me to create a logo similar to The North Face by using a song name. The upper right corner needs to be rounded allowing the color fill between the two silver parts. It looks somewhat ok, but as you can see it is not very proportional. I tried the aics_scripts file that I found from searching, but i can't get it right, most likely because the curve in the logo is not perfect. I have linked jpegs of 2 possibilities - the third image is made from creating a border in the appearance but then i cant get an additional outline around it with the silver color
I'm trying to learn illustrator cs2 on my own and am having some issues with a few basic functions. I am drawing shapes using the rectangle, ellipses and trying to join them together. How do i trim 2 lines together to make a corner. I would like to cut off the exess at the ends by cutting to the other lines. I know this seems basic but I can't figure it out. In the end I want to make a figure using all the drawing tools ( pen, line, shapes etc) and have the outline just one feature.
Is there such a thing as a corner anchor point with handles? It's quite a common thing in other vector programs (i.e. Inkscape), but I can't change the direction (angle) of the curve leaving/entering a corner anchor point.
I need the x, y origin point to be in the lower left corner. In the past I was able to go into the Adobe Illustrator setting and change some code so when I double clicked in the left corner of the ruler it would switch my origin to lower left. Now there is nothing in the setting folder because this program is on the cloud.
Is it possible to find the value of the corner radius of the rounded corners for a rectangle that was created with the Rounded Rectangle Tool. This if for CS4.
I'm using Illustrator CS6. When I create a simple overlapping daisy brush and apply this to a rectangular path the corner tile seems to have lots of nodes. I apply the brush to the path and then expand appearance. Image attached
i know this question is very general but are there any tips on creating outer and inner corner points for pattern brushes in Illustrator? The pattern brushes that are already installed with illustrator have very smooth corner points that blend well, even around quite sharp inner and outer corners. But when i create my own pattern brushes, i just dont seem to get it right.
All the default arrowheads are sharp corners. I need to make an arrowhead that looks sort of like Arial Rounded, where the arrowhead itself is rounded at the point and on the ends.
Why can't I adjust the scale of my text by clicking and dragging the corner boxes? Why I have the text selected, all it does it let me highlight it to change font, size, etc, OR all I can do is move it throughout the artboard. Why can I click and drag the corner box to adjust?
How do I make a corner sash (flash) with Avalable Now! text along it. It would also be nice if it had a bit of a wiggle in it to make it look a bit more realistic.
I have an image that I created with rounded corners that sits on a transparent background. But when I save it the picture (jpeg) always comes out a rectangle without rounded corners (with a white background). How can I save it with rounded corners?
