View 2 RepliesRecently I have started to get in to photography with my digital camera. I have noticed that if you rotate a jpeg 90 degrees or whatever that the file size goes down.
Is there anyway to stop this and if so, how?
I'm just wondering whether there is a way to crop an image in PS in a different shape other than the default square. Like circle crop or pentagon.

I would like the cross and the text N to rotate independantly of the arrow while the N stays with the thick line. That's the easy part. How can I make the N move along the rotation path and keep the text aligned horizontally? I read something about linked action and move, but I can't make it work.
I know I can rotate text with the rotate command or from the properties palette, but if I'm editing text and the text formatting toolbar is displayed, why don't I have the ability to modify the rotation right there? How do I get it there? Can I customize this toolbar?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSO difficult to see the text change and determine if it is at the right angle when the original text is still there.
How can I only display the new "Rotating Text" without the "Original Position" text.
I would like to create a number wheel with the numbers at 90deg to the circle but I cannot find any way to achieve this and it seems like something that should be doable within the text to curves feature.
Here is an example of what i would like to achieve.
I was given a disc with 75 pictures on it to deal with. The images are scans of old photos, and many of them are scans of a whole page from an album. There is handwriting on many of the photos/pages that I want to keep intact.
My big problem is this: Many of the photos/album pages were scanned in a way that makes it neccesery for me to rotate/flip them into proper position. When I rotate them, the handwriting comes out backward/mirrored.
I kind of recall running into this before on an unimportant somethingorother I was working on, but since it wasn't important I left it be.
how do you rotate text without distortion - cs3 photoshop?
am using layers, one layer is a text layer, i want to rotate that, say 8º but without distortion in the letters.
I have an image and there is a text on it. I'd like to cut out only the text. What's the best way to do it?
I'm trying to erease the rest of the image, but I can't do it properly.
I'm in the process of creating a textual watermark for my photos in photoshop but have come across a big problem.
I am using the horizontaly text mask tool but I cannot rotate nor center (both horizontally and vertically) my text before turning it into a layer.
If I rotate and center the text after putting it into a new layer it wont work since the text will move and leave the writing embossed onto the picture.
Now, with that task simplified, I'm not sure how to change the color of the text created using this tool.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to have text that you can rotate in a MVB similar to a dynamic block?
I tried to create a dynamic block within a MVB but doesn't work.
this is connected to the other post about tagging a MVB
I'll start by saying that I'm using Civil 3D 2012...I've made a custom line type and am having issues with it. Basically, I'm trying to get the text (Green line with 4's) to flip around from it's current orientation, see attachment. I have already tried the REVERSE and MIRROR commands, with no success.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhat i have is a section cut that my Mechanical guys use. What i am trying to do is create a dynamic block using the rotate parameter.
Currently i have two rotate parameters. One to rotate the section cut lines around one bit of text. The second parameter is to rotate another bit of text, but this is also selected in the first parameter.
It is almost working... with the exception that when i use the main rotate grip everything rotates around the text i want it to, but the second bit of text rotates 180° the opposite direction.
I have attached a copy of the file.

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)
I have seen several posts about rotating a view on a sheet and the text not remaining readable.
I have seen the posts that say to rotate the view then add text... What if you didn't plan that far ahead - are you just stuck?
Is there any new developments on this?
I have a client who needs to be able to this without having to rotate all the text in the project.
I am working on creating a dynamic block library and am having several problems with text within my blocks. For example... I am working on a North Arrow block and would like the text to rotate with my block, but I want the text to remain right-side up. When I rotate the arrow past 180 degrees the text is upsidedown.

I followed the tutorial linked below to successfully create cartoon text.
My Macbook was then updated to Lion and I checked I had the latest version of GIMP and have been trying all morning to create some more text in the same manner.
However no matter what I do when I select the layer that contains the single letter and I try to rotate it nothing happens?
If I do Alpha to Selection the selection rotates but then I cant do anything with it, stoke fill etc?
To clarify this is what I do:
Create a word
select a letter in the word
ctrl-x
ctrl-v
select new layer
name the new layer to match the letter just cut and pasted
ensure that layer is selected
choose rotate tool
....no rotation takes place?

I have attached a basic PTZ block and what I want it to do is when I rotate the block past a certain point +/-90 degrees the text rotate within the rectangle so it's never upside down.
Can I get any direction on what route I need to take to get this done?
I need to create a text with a rectangle background and a coloured border around this rectangle. Here is what I do:
- I create a text
- I select the text and add a fill and a stroke that I then transform into a rectangle
- I now have my "label" as I want it to be but now I need to rotate it.
Problem is I can rotate the text but fill and stroke don't follow, they remain horizontal and just adapt so that it still fits the text. As a result I have a rotated font with a big rectangle box. Can I rotate fill+stroke with the text?
I created the image below (mostly using a photoshop template I downloaded), but I created the outside text on my own, which I'm having a problem aligning properly. If you notice in the below image, the outside text alignment looks bad.
For the current version below, I used the Warp Text -> Arc tool, but it seems like that tool can't arc beyond a half circle, so I created 2 Arc'd text items and tried pushing them together, which creates the bad alignment you see. Is there any way to create text in a perfect circle in photoshop (or any other adobe product)?
I am using Photoshop Elements (version 4) and I am working with text around a circle. I downloaded a premade text-on-a-path file made by someone with the full Photoshop and it works almost perfectly for what I need. The problem I have is that the text goes upside-down at the bottom of the circle, so how to make a file with the text right-side up at the bottom of the circle. This would make the text upside-down at the top of the circle, but that's fine as I will just use two separate text layers (one for the top and one for the bottom). I've included a quick mock-up of what I'm hoping to have, made with PSE's "Warp text" option which looks messy. I've also attached the psd file I'm using for the top of the circle. (I can't post links yet so they are attached).

Ive got a problem with a drawing from a client and the text is in multi-line format and is currently at the correct angle, however, when I go to edit the text is rotate's it's self round 270 deg....
View 9 Replies View RelatedGave a set of schematics to a client and they decided they wanted all the wire numbers rotating 90 degrees... In the interest of efficiency, any way I can rotate all the pieces of text at the same time whilst maintaining their individual position rather than selecting a base rotation point (as I have about 400 wire numbers to make my way through ).

I made McDermott as one layer, then photography as another layer. I want Photography to be right side up within the circle, it's upside down as it is now.
Here is a logo I am trying to create for my photography. Once I get the Photography font turned right side up, I will insert a large M in the circle - but 1st things 1st.
