I have a robot model, and because he is a robot, he has a simple FK link structure. All the fk links work fine, except the wrists. when i rotate the wrists i get a skewing of the geometry of all the children below the wrist, and in the rotation gizmo on screen.
the are no link constraints in the hierarchy panel, and it is definately something to do with the fk link because if i unlink the wrist from the forearm it rotates normally.
the children rotate normally indepant of the wrist collectively and individually
How do you get the arced text without it distorting the text itself. the tops are bigger than the bottoms of the letters. So your font isn't the same anymore. I am just trying to do a simple arc like cheapo cd label programs do. Straight letters on an arc. Is there a circle text or something i can do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using illustrator since cs2. And since then i have been troubling with the texts which created in another program. Mostly Microsoft Word.
After converting .doc to .pdf, texts get seperated.
You can see what i mean from the screen shot. As you see all dots on left hand side are seperated and the text which seperated by space button also becomes different text boxs. I moved the texts on the 4th line to point it out. Is there a tool or trick to build the words in to a single text sentence or paragraph? I imagine a tool like shape builder. I need this badly because i have plenty of pages to fix.
I know this is located in other locations but I can't seem to make it work with my block.
I would like the cross and the text N to rotate independantly of the arrow while the N stays with the thick line. That's the easy part. How can I make the N move along the rotation path and keep the text aligned horizontally? I read something about linked action and move, but I can't make it work.
I know I can rotate text with the rotate command or from the properties palette, but if I'm editing text and the text formatting toolbar is displayed, why don't I have the ability to modify the rotation right there? How do I get it there? Can I customize this toolbar?

I would like to create a number wheel with the numbers at 90deg to the circle but I cannot find any way to achieve this and it seems like something that should be doable within the text to curves feature.
Here is an example of what i would like to achieve.
I was given a disc with 75 pictures on it to deal with. The images are scans of old photos, and many of them are scans of a whole page from an album. There is handwriting on many of the photos/pages that I want to keep intact.
My big problem is this: Many of the photos/album pages were scanned in a way that makes it neccesery for me to rotate/flip them into proper position. When I rotate them, the handwriting comes out backward/mirrored.
I kind of recall running into this before on an unimportant somethingorother I was working on, but since it wasn't important I left it be.
I'm in the process of creating a textual watermark for my photos in photoshop but have come across a big problem.
I am using the horizontaly text mask tool but I cannot rotate nor center (both horizontally and vertically) my text before turning it into a layer.
If I rotate and center the text after putting it into a new layer it wont work since the text will move and leave the writing embossed onto the picture.
I would like to cut out a perfect circle on a digital picture and rotate text around the circle. I have not been able to find a clean way of doing this.

I tried to create a dynamic block within a MVB but doesn't work.
this is connected to the other post about tagging a MVB
I'll start by saying that I'm using Civil 3D 2012...I've made a custom line type and am having issues with it. Basically, I'm trying to get the text (Green line with 4's) to flip around from it's current orientation, see attachment. I have already tried the REVERSE and MIRROR commands, with no success.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhat i have is a section cut that my Mechanical guys use. What i am trying to do is create a dynamic block using the rotate parameter.
Currently i have two rotate parameters. One to rotate the section cut lines around one bit of text. The second parameter is to rotate another bit of text, but this is also selected in the first parameter.
It is almost working... with the exception that when i use the main rotate grip everything rotates around the text i want it to, but the second bit of text rotates 180° the opposite direction.
I have attached a copy of the file.
I have seen several posts about rotating a view on a sheet and the text not remaining readable.
I have seen the posts that say to rotate the view then add text... What if you didn't plan that far ahead - are you just stuck?
Is there any new developments on this?
I have a client who needs to be able to this without having to rotate all the text in the project.
I am working on creating a dynamic block library and am having several problems with text within my blocks. For example... I am working on a North Arrow block and would like the text to rotate with my block, but I want the text to remain right-side up. When I rotate the arrow past 180 degrees the text is upsidedown.

I followed the tutorial linked below to successfully create cartoon text.
My Macbook was then updated to Lion and I checked I had the latest version of GIMP and have been trying all morning to create some more text in the same manner.
However no matter what I do when I select the layer that contains the single letter and I try to rotate it nothing happens?
If I do Alpha to Selection the selection rotates but then I cant do anything with it, stoke fill etc?
To clarify this is what I do:
Create a word
select a letter in the word
ctrl-x
ctrl-v
select new layer
name the new layer to match the letter just cut and pasted
ensure that layer is selected
choose rotate tool
....no rotation takes place?

I have attached a basic PTZ block and what I want it to do is when I rotate the block past a certain point +/-90 degrees the text rotate within the rectangle so it's never upside down.
Can I get any direction on what route I need to take to get this done?
I need to create a text with a rectangle background and a coloured border around this rectangle. Here is what I do:
- I create a text
- I select the text and add a fill and a stroke that I then transform into a rectangle
- I now have my "label" as I want it to be but now I need to rotate it.
Problem is I can rotate the text but fill and stroke don't follow, they remain horizontal and just adapt so that it still fits the text. As a result I have a rotated font with a big rectangle box. Can I rotate fill+stroke with the text?
Ive got a problem with a drawing from a client and the text is in multi-line format and is currently at the correct angle, however, when I go to edit the text is rotate's it's self round 270 deg....
View 9 Replies View RelatedGave a set of schematics to a client and they decided they wanted all the wire numbers rotating 90 degrees... In the interest of efficiency, any way I can rotate all the pieces of text at the same time whilst maintaining their individual position rather than selecting a base rotation point (as I have about 400 wire numbers to make my way through ).

I have been unable to rotate the header text in a parts list. I created a new text style that is rotated 90 deg, a new part list style that specifies to use that text style in the header. Everything else about the text in the header displays correctly (i.e. font, size, colour, etc) but not the rotation when I insert the parts list in a drawing using the correct standard. When I apply this same standard to a regular text line on the drawing it will rotate the 90 degs but not in the part list.

What I want this block to do is to keep the "REF. NORTH" text aligned and properly spaced whithin a single motion while rotating it with the thick line.

1. when I edit or create text in a particualr drawing, I can't keep the editor from rotating 90 degrees.
I've tried creating a new style and it does the same thing both in model space and in Paper Space.
2. in a new drawing, the editor jumps out of drawing area on right side of drawing space by default.
I have been capturing data for measured building surveys with a Leica total station (TS06). When I upload the data into autocad i can see the node points (+) and text in the top view. When switch to look at the points from the front view (to produce an elevation), the text and points appear as a flat line, although the insertion point of the node/text is still correct. I need to find a way of rotating the text and points so they are visible in this view. I will then flatten the points and cut them to the top view to produce a 2d elevation.
we had a toolbar with a button to perform this function. However, now i don't have the toolbar,
I am trying to find a lisp routine that would allow me to rotate single letter text around a central point but keep the text (letters) horizontal as I rotate the letters about that central point. Is there anything out there that could accomplish this.

how to use the polar coordinates filter but why is it even though I follow the tutorial exactly, when i go to apply the filter I can't use it along with many others.
would this be a software issue? maybe have to download filters or sumthing?

I'm using CS3 on a PC. I'm using the wave filter to distort an image. writing down all the characteristics ie, # of generators, wavelength, amplitude, scale ect. Is there anyway to recreate that EXACT wave pattern on a particular image once I've left the program? It seems to generate another algorithm even if I input the same numbers.
Also, I'm distorting an image at 72dpi as a test. When I replace the image with an exact replica at 300dpi and apply the wave distortion, I'm unable to get even remotely the same results. the wave patterns are much tighter. I've moved around all the characteristics with no result.
