I wonder if anyone can help me out with this. When I try to transform something I use the shift key while transforming to constrain the proportions but for some reason it has stopped working and I can not figure out why and how to fix it.

I have seen some other posts on this and they mentioned quitting entourage or disabling your firewall as a fix. I am not running Entourage nor am behind a firewall. I also reset my preferences.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled the free to use version of CS2 on my PC. I'm running 32 Bit Windows 7. Since the install Photoshop will not allow me to use Shift+ Cursor to resize with constrained proportions. When I press Shift the cursor freezes and I am unable to move it no matter how hard I press on the track pad. If I resize and then press shift the image will square out. It appears that only the scroll function is disabled.

I can use shift to type upper case within Illustrator, but its not allowing me to size things proportionally. I searched within many option and menus and googled this problems without any resolution.

in all previous versions there was a brilliant shortcut for selecting light areas of the image - ctrl+shift+alt+~
In SC4 it doesn't work.
Did they changed it?
In X5 holding [Shift] while zooming with the scroll-wheel decreases the zoom step size. In X6, holding [Shift] has no effect and CorelDraw zooms in the same large steps as when zooming without holding [shift].
I have both X5 and X6 installed. X5 performs as it should, X6 does not.
why [shift] has no effect? I desperately want the smaller zoom-steps back!
But when trying to rotate an object in 2010 3ds Max while holding shift to only rotate every 5th degree it ends up rotating the same as it would when normally rotating. I know this is a feature in the 2010 version but cannot find the shortcut key in the settings.

In the same drawing for example i can use shift to either select more than one point in a polyline, or to change between trim and extend or to fillet with a radius or to a point.
but when i try to do this with an image in the background it doesn't work. I need the image as i am tracing shapes.
When I hold down shift to scale an object or image to keep the proportions constrained, it does not work. This has only recently started to happen and it also happens on photoshop.
I don't have entourage running, which I read could be a culprit.
Would I need to reinstall my CS2?

My shift not working when I have some objects selected and I want to deselect something. I have the c3d 2014 with raster image. I am new to autocad and c3d and I am trying to learn from videos I find in youtube. I saw even the autocad help that mentions the shift to deselect but why this is not working.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile working with my Easy Ease, the SHIFT+F9 just no longer works or hasn't since installation. SHIFT+CTRL+F9, or F9 work as intended.(I checked the pref text file for my keyboard short cuts and SHIFT+F9 is assigned correctly)
Now when I create a preset then wish to view or browse my presets I click Animation > Browse Preset, and nothing happens.(Made a shortcut to my preset folder)
A while ago I found out you can deselect something from your current selection set by holding down the shift key and clicking on it. This was a pretty useful tool...but then it randomly stopped working today for me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI haven't been able to use the 3D orbiting shortcut since yesterday. I'm using a wireless Microsoft Mouse and keyboard instead of the inbuilt mouse & keyboard on my laptop (which don't seem to be executing the command either).
Up until yesterday I never had any problems orbiting the view.
why this simple shortcut is suddenly not working in Illustrator CC?
I try to use it to duplicate an empty circle with a coloured path while scaling it down (with the intention of using Ctrl D to continue the progression). The shortcut simple resizes the path without duplicating it.
I was having a few issues with shift-constrain resizing not working, and option-drag duplication not working, also using the space bar to move the document around the viewport.
OSX 10.9, InDesign 9.2.1.
I reset the preferences, restarted which failed to solve the problem.However once I updated my Wacom driver from 6.3.3 to the latest 6.3.8-2 that seemed to solve the problem.
how to adjust Genius pen tablet i 608 to Photoshop CS3, When I put a CD on my tablet and draw a circle around it, I get an elipse in photoshop. I have tried by setting the pen area in my latest Genius driver to match my paper size in Ps but that didn't work. I need to set up that ratio or the proportions to match so my drawings would not be skewed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNew user of Elements 10. I am trying to change an image size but NOT keep the current height/width ratio.
When I go into the Image Size option box, the Constrain proportions box is ticked, so when I change the width, the height automatically alters to a new figure (say 100 x 50 becomes 200 x 100)
What I need to do is to have different sizes (say 100 x 50 to become 200 x 160). I realise that the image will look wrong, but this is not a problem, in fact it is what I am trying to achieve.
What do I have to do to be able to uncheck this option within the Image Resize dialogue box.
In a previous version of Photoshop, that I had access to, this was achieved by simply un-ticking the option.
How do I re activate the "Constrain Proportions" feature when it is "greyed out".
Trying to re-size a photo in old Photoshop version with the magnifying glass logo.
I was given an image with these dimensions:
w: 13.89 x h: 5.56 inches.
I'm being asked to make it fit these dimensions:
w: 8.5 x h: 5.47 inches
How to achieve this without the picture looking stretched, in terms of it's height. Everything looks constrained when you just do the image or canvas resize.
How to make this image visibly more clear and perfect. But don't change its proportions, the size should be exactly the same as I'm going to use it for facebook cover.

When I unchecked constrain proportions and choose reshape, of course the proportions are off on the layers within and when I try to resize each of those layers, they become blurry.

Sometime you want to stretch the height and I already know how to enlarge with constrained proportions as I've been doing it for years.I can't find any useful tick box to stop this from happening and the only way round it I can find is to convert to editable shapes.

It's not that difficult to use the info palette and get the aspect ratio right but it would be way quicker if I could just constrain the crop tool to those proportions.
