Photoshop Elements :: Can't Uncheck Constrain Proportions
Nov 17, 2012
New user of Elements 10. I am trying to change an image size but NOT keep the current height/width ratio.
When I go into the Image Size option box, the Constrain proportions box is ticked, so when I change the width, the height automatically alters to a new figure (say 100 x 50 becomes 200 x 100)
What I need to do is to have different sizes (say 100 x 50 to become 200 x 160). I realise that the image will look wrong, but this is not a problem, in fact it is what I am trying to achieve.
What do I have to do to be able to uncheck this option within the Image Resize dialogue box.
In a previous version of Photoshop, that I had access to, this was achieved by simply un-ticking the option.
I want to keep the width pixel size the same but change the height of the background layer (canvas). When I unchecked constrain proportions and choose reshape, of course the proportions are off on the layers within and when I try to resize each of those layers, they become blurry.
I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled the free to use version of CS2 on my PC. I'm running 32 Bit Windows 7. Since the install Photoshop will not allow me to use Shift+ Cursor to resize with constrained proportions. When I press Shift the cursor freezes and I am unable to move it no matter how hard I press on the track pad. If I resize and then press shift the image will square out. It appears that only the scroll function is disabled.
So I open up Illustrator CS4 today and I start working with a simple file. I use my shift key to proportionally enlarge something, and it doesn't work. I can use shift to type upper case within Illustrator, but its not allowing me to size things proportionally. I searched within many option and menus and googled this problems without any resolution.
Have you ever had shift not work when trying to constrain proportions while scaling in illustrator CS5? I have seen some other posts on this and they mentioned quitting entourage or disabling your firewall as a fix. I am not running Entourage nor am behind a firewall. I also reset my preferences.
I know very little about setting image sizes in LR and usually use Pixrl. I have to have my photos 576 pixels wide and constrain propstions for a website.
I am making a graph template that I would like to be able to quickly adjust when needed. I am wondering how to constrain the rectangles so they maintain their total area while their proportions are changed?
I am creating subway art and am creating various templates. I would like it so that when I have a text box with a 5 letter word, and I want to enter a longer word, they all fit and just kind of smush together rather than me having to fix the text boxes constantly.
When I put photo's from my camara (Olympus C5060) on my computer, they have a doc. dimension of about 22" in Width and about 17" in Height, at 72dpi.
Then, if I want to change it to 300dpi for printing, the size will go to about 5" and 4", and I can accept that. But should I Uncheck Resample Image to keep the quality?
my default process is Adobe RGB. If I save a RAW image (Nikon D200) as a jpeg after adjustments in PS5.5, and I uncheck the "save as Adobe RGB" box, will the image be saved as an sRGB jpeg?
How I can check/uncheck the override text model check box in tolerance dialog (for a dimension in a .idw document), in a DLL add in. Is possible, or inventor api not include this possibility.
I am unable to uncheck papersize ISO full bleed B1 in DWG to PDF.pc3 in filter papersizes in AutoCAD 2010. All other papersizes can be unchecked just fine.
I am cleaning it all up because the huge amount of printers and plotters, and all of their papersizes, makes it difficult for the people here to find the right choice to plot.
I would like to be able to uncheck this papersize too and have it all working well. I read this is a bug.
how to adjust Genius pen tablet i 608 to Photoshop CS3, When I put a CD on my tablet and draw a circle around it, I get an elipse in photoshop. I have tried by setting the pen area in my latest Genius driver to match my paper size in Ps but that didn't work. I need to set up that ratio or the proportions to match so my drawings would not be skewed.
I wonder if anyone can help me out with this. When I try to transform something I use the shift key while transforming to constrain the proportions but for some reason it has stopped working and I can not figure out why and how to fix it.
How to achieve this without the picture looking stretched, in terms of it's height. Everything looks constrained when you just do the image or canvas resize.
How to make this image visibly more clear and perfect. But don't change its proportions, the size should be exactly the same as I'm going to use it for facebook cover.
I have decided to print some of my digital pictures; how do you crop pictures in Photoshop while keeping the same proportion so they will still work for 4x6 prints. I know how to keep the same proportion when resizing files, just not cropping.
Possible to produce a piece of text, say a single word in XDP X9 and the try to stretch the height you simple get an increase in size with proportions constrained? Sometime you want to stretch the height and I already know how to enlarge with constrained proportions as I've been doing it for years.I can't find any useful tick box to stop this from happening and the only way round it I can find is to convert to editable shapes.
When I enlarge a drawing or draw a large drawing to size, when I go to shrink it down to an exportable size on the page all the porportions of outlines and shades are all out of whack. What can I do to maintain the drawing to scale with all intact for different sizing of jobs, So I don't have to go in an correct the aspect of the drawing for each and every job.
Also if I export a drawing as a jpg and email it, On the droid phones it does not recognize the jpg file and it won't open.
After opening a RAW file in ACR CS6, Win 7, the outline is constrained to a 3:2 box. When I drag down, it's a vertical 3:2 box. I try clicking on the crop icon at top, but there's no response. There's no drop down menu when I click the icon. Otherwise, ACR works fine, using the 2012 methods.
I love drawing in Photoshop. But there is one thing that Sketchbook Pro does better that causes me to start a new project there every time. Quickly I get frustrated at the limitations of the program and the poor handling of keyboard shortcut options...Why do I start in SbP? The adjustable rulers (linear, elliptical)!
I WISH that Adobe would buy, beg, borrow, or steal this functionality from Autodesk. They are so easy to adjust, reposition, replicate, etc.
I know that I can create a selection with the marquee, lasso and magic wand tools. I know I can add a "stroke" effect to the layer. I know I can add a stroke that supposedly borrows the brush settings to a selection... But, I want to be able to "DRAW" along that path, utilizing the brush settings (like Transfer) to suit the stylistic needs of the project.
I want to extrude a flat 2d image to 3d image in equal proportions(in all 3 axis) in Action 3d space.Hence I request u to give me a proper solution for this.sir.doc
When we hold Shift while painting with the brush or pencil tool the stroke is constrained to a 180, 90 or 45 degree angle.
ever since CS4, when we do this, a faint brush line appears to connect the end of the first stroke with the beginning of the next creating all sorts of unwanted effects. This happens regardless of where we make the next stroke.
The only way of not having this happen is to keep reselecting the brush tool (keyboard shortcut B) after each stroke. When there are many lines to draw, doing this creates unnecessary delay in workflow.
I've managed to hack together some code to draw a rectangle and dimension it. Now I want to constrain it to the origin. I figure either using two dimensions from a top/side to the origin and setting the dimension as half of the other respective dimension would work. Or constraining the center point of a top/side line to be vertical/horizontal to the origin.
The problem I'm having is I do not know how to reference the origin. So until I figure out how to reference the origin point I can't use either method.
Public Sub DrawSketchLine() ' Check to make sure a sketch is open. If Not TypeOf ThisApplication.ActiveEditObject Is PlanarSketch Then MsgBox "A sketch must be active." Exit Sub End If ' Set a reference to the active sketch. Dim oSketch As PlanarSketch Set oSketch = ThisApplication.ActiveEditObject ' Set a reference to the transient geometry collection. Dim oTransGeom As TransientGeometry Set oTransGeom = ThisApplication.TransientGeometry Dim oUOM As UnitsOfMeasure Set oUOM = [Code].......
I've made 2 parts and I'm attempting to constrain them but I can't seem to get it to fit properly. The transition should fit at the opposite end of the 2 square cutouts with the square end of the transition inside the cylinder.
I have a high res model and Im building a low res one on top of it. I'm trying to constrain the movement of a vertex of the low res model to the surface of the high res model. How can I do that in Max 2012?
