Photoshop :: CS5 (Windows 7) To Control And Navigate Cursor Position Automatically?
Dec 15, 2012
I wonder if it’s possible with Photoshop CS5 (OS: Win7) to control and navigate the cursor position automatically?
Â
Situation: I have a layer with many scattered points.
Wanted: I would like to jump automatically (e. g. by mouse click) to every single point.
Â
Or is it basically not possible because it is a Graphic-Â and *not* a Vector Software.
After installing PS cc I built up my own swatches, saved them and see that they were listed in the Swatch menu - seperated in the menu from the standard swatches with some seperator lines.  Yesterday I wanted to save a swatch for a friend, and changed the save folder to the desktop.Today i wanted to make an update to my own "super"-swatches, but when I try to save it defaults to the desktop again.  Now, after fiddling about for a while, I've found out this:  • My "super"-swatch is saved here: /Users/[myname]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC/Presets/Color Swatches/...
• The swatches placed here becomes seperated from the standard swatches by seperator lines above and below (which is nice).
• I've ruined the save folder default position, as I can't navigate to the hidden Library folder  This means that I can't update my "Super"-swatch and I can't save any new swatches that will be seperated from the standard ones.
how to navigate the "save to"-position into the Library folder again - or just reset the save folder default position?
In PS CS4, my cursor position often "jumps around" in a very random way, the instant the mousebutton is pressed. For example, when using the brush tool, it will start drawing on a completely different place than the cursor was positionen when I wanted to start painting... The same thing for the lasso tool, etc... I use Vista home 32-bit, CS 4 with latest patches (as of 2009-04-14) and a standard cordless Microsoft mouse - nothing fancy. Mouse works in all other programs 100% of the time.
It has recently become impossible to control the type cursor in Photoshop (also Illustrator and InDesign) so that I cannot select anything with any accuracy. Â To begin with nothing on the first line of text can be selected at all and deeper into the text it is not possible to select a singe line of text or a single word or letter. The cursor simply selects in a totally erratic way selecting blocks of text. Therefore it is not possible to edit any text.
In Curves, when you want to see the deepest blacks and whitest whites, you hold down Option while clicking and dragging the balck and white sliders – and the dragging doesn't allow accurate control. It's okay, but I would find it better if I could nudge the black and white sliders from the keyboard while seeing the effect on the image. Is that possible when using Curves as an adjustment layer?
I am with CS5's enhanced brush engine - the great new media brushes...BUT, when using them, and a wacom intuos4 tablet, with the canvas rotated - where the cursor is when stroking is not where the pixels created by brushing go. Very frustrating. The greater the rotation of the canvas, the greater the offset is. It's hard to know where the pixels will appear when I put pen to tablet and stroke. Makes it impossible to accurate, well-controlled brushing.I'm forced to stop using the Rotate Canvas tool with media brushes and the Rotate Canvas tool is incredibly useful for freehand painting/drawing (I rotate my paper every which way while drawing on actual paper.)
Is there any way of determining your cursor position in plan when you are working in a profile or visa versa? I also work in 12d and as you move your cursor on an alignment or profile you can exactly see the position of the cursor in both layouts/views.
I am trying to move a symbol around based on it's x and y coordinates, without using keyframes to actually animate any movement. Â Basically what I want to do is have a largish map image inside a symbol, most of which is off stage, with right, left, up and down buttons that slide the map in and out as you mouseover them, thus allowing the user to navigate east, west, north and south, if you see what I mean. Â The buttons would move the map symbol around in increments of perhaps 10 or 20 pixels at a time, but it would freeze where it was when you moused out of the button, and begin moving again when you mouseover. Â Of course it would be important to fix limits to how far the map symbol could be pushed so that you could only see as far as the edges of the map, and not beyond the limits of the map.
Recently upgraded to Gimp 2.8 for the single window mode (which worksbrilliantly in Ubuntu, especially with the HUD).
But the Rectangle Select Tool has a new - but odd - behaviour. When I drawa selection, and then add to that selection, a new "square" is position atmy cursor. (See attached screenshot.) This didn't happen in 2.6 and is abit irritating because it disorientates me slightly, especially if I'mworking quickly.
Is there a way to turn that off (or revert it to the 2.6 way)?
How can I get keyboard cursor(caret) position in javascript?  I made a multilined edittext in ScriptUI.  But It's not working about Enter key.  All I want is when I push 'enter' key, begin a new line.  If I know how to get keyboard cursor position, I can insert ' ' character in middle of sentances.  ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ///////////////  var win =new Window ("dialog", ''); win.orientation = "column";  var grpContents = win.add("group") var codeInput = grpContents.add ("edittext", [0, 0, 150, 550], "", {multiline:true}); codeInput.alignment = ['fill', 'top']
For some reason, the camera pivot has changed..Whenever I set it to anything, it keeps going back to the stupid configuration of being 5 meters away from my plot... which means the slightest rotation makes me lose the view.
I tried using the navigation the navigation wheel's "center", but it sets it in two dimensions of the projection's plot on my screen, which is not enough.
And I tried the command alias "3DO", but every time I do it, it works only once... and for some reason the camera pivot gets lost again on the next move.
how to change the camera pivot position by entering it somewhere like (0,0,0).
I am creating a drawing controlled by ilogic. The assembly can vary in size considerably so I have set the IDW to change between sheet size A3 and A2 accordingly using ilogic. However, when the sheet size is changed, the parts list stays in a static position.
Currently, the parts list is situated in the top right corner up against the title block and the border. So when changing from Size A3 to Size A2, the parts list ends up in the middle of the page. Is there anyway i can control the position of the parts list so it changes with the sheet size change?
I know I could simply move the partslist to the bottom left corner, which is a work around. However, I'd like to be able to keep the drawings in line with the company standard.
I have made an animation that after it completes, it displays an iFrame which has some input fields. The input fields behave great on a laptop pc or mac but when I use an Apple iPad, the cursor positions are way off outside of the input fields as I type.  Here is the website page: URL...Here I have the same iframe, one inside of edge and the other outside of edge. Both work fine on a pc or mac but if you try to use an Ipad, you will see that the edge one shows the input field cursor down and outside of the input field.  You can see for yourself,  I have set this up for you to test and see this error. The animate oam file is: URL....  Here is a link to the edge files, the .an and java files files: URL.....
I want to display a symbol next to the cursor. It should stay there like in this example here:http:/[url].... Â When using a responsive Stage (what is crucial to my project, because I need 100% width on all window sizes) the placement ot the symbol is dependent on the size of the window and the position on the screen. Here is an example of the problem: [url].... Â So, gathering the coordinates within EA seems not to be the right way.. Or any solution to compensate for the responsivness? Â // CompositionReady sym.createsym = function(){ var position = sym.$("box").show(); [Code].......
Is there a way to disable this function? Â I regularly have to edit text within a grid of lines in illustrator. I can replace/edit text zoomed out, but when I try the cursor automatically changes to the type on a path tool. I then have to zoom in, edit text, zoom back out thousands of times a day. It would save me a bunch of time if I could set the type tool to ignore paths and only select text. Â I could take the grid of lines on the files I'm working on and send them to back and lock them, but I am dealing with tens of thousands of files, and it's just not practical. Â Any way to get rid of type on a path, or at least prevent Illustrator from automatically switching to that tool when I hover the type tool over a path?
When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.
I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?
I have a feeling this may come under the heading of 'dumb queries'. Nonetheless: Illustrator CS6 (Mac OS X 10.6) has just started opening documents with the working window hard left of the screen, rather than immediately tot he right of the toolbar. I hope the attached graphic makes this clear: Â This happens when opening documents by double-clicking in the Finder and by using File > Open in Illustrator itself.I've tried resetting preferences; and moving the window to the correct position, creating a new workspace and restarting Illustrator. Sadly neither action works.
is there a control to add a viewing window in a dialog so that the it shows a drawing such as a rectangle in the viewing window as you change the width and height in the dialog.
Software: ACAD LT 2010. Recently I upgraded to a new computer and Windows 7, from Win XP. Now ACAD is lagging and dragging. Also, sometime it takes forever to open a file.Â
What are the proper setting on windows xp control panel - printers & faxes - printing preferences, in order to be able to plot any size sheet in ACAD LT 2007? We are having to change the preferences in the windows control panel whenever we change from a d size sheet to an e size.
Why aren't multiple effect controls windows saved with a workspace? Â I have many projects where I use a null as a controller with many sliders etc to control the animation of many layers. I open a couple of effect control windows and lock them with the contents of the controllers in them. Works great UNTIL I switch to a new workspace - even if it's based on the original and was saved with the effect control windows open in it. At that point, all effect control windows are removed. Â I have to then re-open, position and select layer, lock etc - takes ages. Â Why aren't the effect control woindows saved, even if they're empty, it would work as you'd expect it to.
We have a couple of issues with Illustrator CC on a number of workstations? Â 1. It randomly switches between open windows; if I am working in one window it will switch to another open window even if that window is put in the dock. Â 2. Constantly crashes.
After an AutoCAD/Windows crash, I reboot. The system begins to load Windows (Win 7 splash), then the screen goes blank and a white Windows cursor appears -- nothing more; no desktop or taskbar.
Control-Alt-Del does nothing, however, the HDD light continues to flash as if it is continuing to boot. The same thing happens when I boot in Safe Mode (except cursor is larger due to different resolution).
I can boot from bootable CD and everything works fine. HDD scan and memtest both pass. I formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows and AutoCAD and everything works fine. However, two days later, the same exact problem occurred on the second of five workstations.

AutoCAD 2013 was originally loaded from a trial version, then purchased license key installed. We are using Xref on a file server and opening drawing on a file server across a ethernet Gbit lan.
I am trying to create a windows form within iLogic. Everything works except the lines defining the location on the controls. I keep getting the following error:Â 'New' cannot be used on an interface. The error refers to lines in the code that try to set the control location on the form. (i.e. "button1.Location = New Point(10,10)") Ihave pasted the code below and have it attached as well. I am in Inventor 2013.

I've been working in Photoshop for about 8 years now. Most of my time using the program was on a PC at my old office. At home and at my new office though, we're Mac based. The only feature I miss about the PC version of PS is the functionality of the tab key. On a PC, you can use the tab key to navigate through any field in a dialogue box (i.e. in the Image Size dialogue, hitting the tab key will scroll through the fields moving from left to right, and then down to the next line continuing the left to right movement). On the Mac however, it only allows certain fields to be accessed using the tab key.
I have searched, The only answer I've come across is in the keyboard settings of the Mac, and it's an option to allow the tab key move the focus between all fields/controls. I have tried this option and while it works with every other program on my Mac, it does not change anything in Photoshop.
This may seem like a minor gripe, but when going through repetitive actions in PS and using my keyboard to navigate almost everything else, it puts a pretty big kink into my workflow to not be able to do this.
are there shortcuts to navigate (up and down) between levels? I've a Italian layout keyboard.Second, pressing spacebar the PAN function (hand). Can I also edit the shortkeys in order to temporarily activate "rotate canvas", that is not having selecting again the tool I'm using after rotating the canvas using the "R" key.
I remember using a shortcut to navigate around while zoomed in. It works this way: while zoomed in a document i press a shortcut key, PS zooms out and gives me the overview of the document, then while keeping the shortcut pressed i hover the area where i want to go next and release the shortcut keys, then PS zoomes the area i selected.
I use Autocad 2011 to read and modify drawings supplied by my client for the design and installation of ducting. I was going along nicely although slowly due to my transition from Visual cad. These are two completely different program and Autocad seems incredibly complicated until you start to learn a few commands and figure out how to navigate around the program.
Anyway, I have had about 20 hours with the program and am on the bottom of the learning curve when for some reason, the method of working suddenly changed, I am not aware of making the changes and cannot see how to change back.
First off, if I drew a few lines and then wanted to delete them, I simply selected each line and pressed delete. This was the same for most commands, I would select the items and then click the command.
Now, I have to click the command, then select the items and press enter. The main problem with this is that to delete anything, I now have to select "cut" or "erase", select all of the items and then press enter.
What I want to do is select the items and press delete but the delete key no longer works. how to get back to using my delete key.
