Using Mac 10.7.4 and CS5 Extended on an Imac 27.Today, working on a large file PSD suffix and Photoshop froze. and when I restarted i got "unexpected end of file " error message on the file i was working on, but on several other files also in that folder. The file shows on the hard drive now as 118.6 megs. The files show up in Bridge, but with small Previews.
when I open an image in Photoshop I get this error "could not import the clip board because of an unexpected end-of-file was encountered" how do I fix this?
While trying to do a full backup to an external hard drive, I am getting a message "error encountered while writing file" after about 75% of the 14,000 photos. I believe I have traced the problem to a missing slide show presentation program that was on an external hard drive (F) I no longer have. The program still works (from the C drive), however if I click on the program thumbnail in the Organize screen (which points to the F drive), and try to delete it, I get a message "An error occurred while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may be a problem with the source media." I believe that is because it is looking for the program on the non-existent F drive. What can I do to enable a backup?
I cannot open photoshop files anymore in photoshop CS3. i get the 'could not import clipboard because an unexpected end-of-file occurred' I have purged the clipboard but no joy. I have an Acer Aspire 5750. Can't even open a New file let alone existing ones.
I am trying to move my catalog from a Windows xp computer to a new Windows 7 computer. In attempting to do so I an trying to make a backup of my catalog. When I attempt to make a full catalog backup I get an error message at the end of the writing of the backup file. The message is: "Error encountered while writing file." Â The images are written to the backup file (> 20,000 images) and the Catalog.buc is written as well, but the Backup.tly is missing in the backup folder.I have gone thru my catalog and have found no unconnected files and no file that are in need of repair. Everything seems to be in order with the catalog.
My Corel X5 file won't open but gives me the message "encountered an improper argument" or just freezes trying to open it. I tried installing Corel on a different computer but with the same result.Â
Is my file corrupt? Is there any way to (partly) recover the inforamtion in my file?
I used to have all my photos on an external hard drive along with my lightroom catalog file. I recently transfered them all to my main harddrive on my imac and linked them and everything so they all show up and i can access them. However now when i try and export them they are saying "An unexpected end-of-file occured" and thats it. Also some of the photos have like a ulticolored streak through them and what not. They where literally working before i moved them...
Working in LR 3.6, Mac OS10.6.8, 8GB RAM, accessing from an external USB 2TB harddrive, and when opening an image I get the error: Â "Lightroom encountered an error when reading a catalogue file and needs to quit. Â "Lightroom will attempt to diagnose the problem the next time it launches." Â I've run "Optimize Catalogue" and that didn't relieve the problem. Also have deleted preference files and still no joy. I also have upgrade to LR4 in hopes that it will fix the problem and it didn't. So I've removed LR4 for the time being until I can figure this out in LR3. Â Here is a screen shot:
I recently built a new PC dedicated to my photo work.
i7 2600k, 16gb DDR 3 ripjaws, 128GB crucial m4 SSD, (2) x 1TB 7200 HDDs (mirrored), Sapphire Radeon HD 5570.The first month or so of use LR worked great. However, recently I have been getting several errors and oddities. Â 1) Randomly closes. I can restart it without a problem and pick back up where I left off. There are not warnings or signs that it is about to close.. it just does. 2) "Unexpected end of file". Unable to edit photo. Preview does show, however. I have never seen this error before on other machines. 3) Memory dumps. I assume this is related to LR3 as that is the only program I am actively using when it happens (Chome is always open as well, however) I will have the dump files examined to know for sure. 4) Something new that just started today. In the preview bar on the bottom, as I scroll through the photos I see the previews of other photos.. some photos from other folders I took weeks or months ago. When I hover over the image it changes to what it should be.1 with a photo from this particular shoot and one from one I did over a month ago. Everything I scroll back and forth (rapidly or not) as the previews load it loads the wrong files first, multiple times (around 8 or 9 in a row) and then they slowly change to what it should be.
I am not sure if I am properly describing this error but it is really weird. Also, this seems to only happen on the images off a CF card. I was borrowing a friends D200 as a 2nd body for a party. When I scroll through the images off my SD card I do not see the issue appear. When I get to the CF portion of the folder is when I see the problem..I just updated LR today but these issues occured prior to the update and still exist afterwards. Â Do I need to do a fresh install of LR?What precautions do I need to take in doing so to insure my catalogue stays intact?
I am getting a Could not open due to unexpected end of file error messages on a bunch of jpg's I am receiving via email. The files open in Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
Photoshop V10.0.0 will not open. It crashes as its loading the Twain drivers at start up. I am running Windows XP.
I've tried deleting the preferences file, reloading Photoshop and, as a desperate measure, deleting and reloading CS3. Nothing has worked. I tried upgrading photoshop but still no luck. Set my default printer to PDF, still nothing. Disabled my firewall, still nothing.....
The worst bit is its been working quite happily since June 07 and then in late Nov early Dec it decided not to work. I also had a printer problem during this time and reinstalled the printer software, but photoshop wasn't working before I did that.
The error I get is:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close
when I was trying to save an image as a PNG, I pressed save then clicked OK on the small PNG Options / Interlace box and then the program completely crashed, encountered an error and needed to close. I tested saving things as PNG and it happened over and over again. It's only happening with PNG, not with any other formats. Can anybody please help? PNG is a format that I need to use and it is becoming very frustrating! I don't know if this help but the Error signature says:AppName: photoshop.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.0 ModName: png.8biModVer: 10.0.0.0 Offset: 00001f44
my CS2 shuts down when I try to open a raw file and sometimes in the middle of editing an image without warning and without saving any changes. I purchased a new Dell computer hoping it would solve the problem but it didn't. It's still happening with this new $6000.00 computer running Windows XP Pro. Is this a known issue and would an upgrade to CS3 resolve this matter?
I get an "Online Services encountered an error" message when I try to upload a video to Facebook or YouTube. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on a Windows 8 machine
I bought Photoshop CS2 some time ago. I got a new mac (OS X 10.8.2) and when I'm trying to install it I introduce the cd, accept and after it copies the files, appears "The installation failed" The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
I have PS CS3 on a older laptop. I have been trying to download the disk on a newer laptop. I keep getting Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Internal error 2739. how to get the program downloaded?
I know there is a recommended way to use PSE catalog backup to transfer a catalog to a new pc [URL] This is fine for when I have planned to move to a new pc. Â But what about if the move to the new pc is unexpected (such as after a loss of the pc or the pc stops working)? In this case, I would have an up-to-date backup of the old pc (because this is done automatically on a schedule), but would not have an up-to-date backup of the built in PSE catalog backup (because it is not automated). Â How do I use my regular drive backup to restore the PSE catalog to the new PC, whilst preserving my albums?
When I create a project mit chapter and and want burn it in Blue-Ray disc, than comes error 5:0:0. Without chapter I can project burning perfect.Already destroyed many Blue-ray discs.
I bought the VideoStudio x5 yesterday. When i try to open the program, a message appears:
The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning. Please contact Corel Technical Support and send the dump file for analysis
This morning when I started Revit 2013 and tried to open a file that I was working on last night, I got this error: "encountered an improper argument." The file will not open. Â I tried to open a different file, and I get another error saying "An unrecoverable error has occured. The program will now be terminated.... " Revit will close. Â I cannot open any files, or get Revit to run. Is my installation corrupt? Do I need to re-install or is it possible to try a repair?
2. I have downloaded and applied the patch that was released. Â I can open, edit, and export my files just like pre-Mavericks; however, when I go to import them into Premiere via Import, I get an import error: Â "The importer encountered a generic error." Â Oddly, when I look at the exported files in Finder (which, by the way, do not throw an error during the export process -- I have clean logs), I don't have a preview thumbnail like I did before. Now, it's a placeholder Quicktime logo. Hitting space bar to preview them only offers the information window, which show "Zero KB" as the file size... but in Finder, it clearly shows the correct file size. Â Opening the files in Quicktime gives me a "converting" message before opening (these are .MOV files that shouldn't need converting at all), and exporting them from QT won't allow for an Alpha channel, ruining the transparency of the lower third.
When I try to import the sketchup file into max i get the error "X32 reader terminated unexpected" I have tried importing to 3ds max design 2013 and 2014 and used different sketchup versions and also files as simple as a box. everytime i get the same error.
I have imported a series of old jpegs into Lightroom 3.6 taken in 2002-2003 and I noticed an unexpected date on the thumbnails in the Grid view.
In the Library View Options (Ctrl-J) I have selected to show the Capture Date/Time on the thumbnails.
Since the pictures do not have Exif data I had expected that Lightroom would show the regular system date/time of the picture files. Bad luck, Lightroom is showing the Date/Time of the FOLDER containing the picture files instead of the date of the files themselves. Â So last week on 06-01-2012 I created a folder on a harddisk and copied a series of jpegs in there with a file date of 20-06-2003. Lightroom however is showing 06-01-2012 on the thumbnails. Not excactly what I want.
LR 5, not 5.2, is giving me "Unexpected error opening catalog" with the suggestion I attempt to open another catalog. All my recent catalogs give me this error.  I'm using Windows 7 with fully adequate ram and storage. The program was working OK until today.  I back up daily and that always includes optimization. I did find an earlier catalog that comes in successfully.  The Lightroom program demands lots of hours of study and work and if errors like this are frequent I'll have to reconsider its usefulness for my photography.
I receive this error when testing eTransmit for Revit 2013. "etransmit encountered an error while trying to contact the server". Oddly, it is only a problem with on host, and not the other.
LR locked up and I had to force close. Now everytime I try to open I get and error message 'LR encountered-an error when reading from it's preview cache and needs to quit'
I cannot open one of my catalogs in Lightroom 4 . Â It's a large catalog, created in LR4, and it's always worked fine. It lives on an external hard drive (along with all the pictures in that catalog). Â The other night, I set another hard drive down and touched the first drive, accidentally disconnecting it from the computer while LR was open (or possibly while LR was in the process of opening). Â When I reconnected the drive and tried to open the catalog again, I received a message that the catalog couldn't be opened since it was open in another application. (Nothing else was open or using it, obviously.) Â I researched the internet, found a suggestion, and removed the .lock file from the catalog folder. NOW I am getting the message "Unexpected error opening catalog. The catalog could not be opened due to an unexpected error."
---- IF I have to reload the software, do I lose anything? Do I lose my edits, my history, my preferences? Â I want to preserve the history of all of the edited photographs, not just the "composite LR adjustment" or whatever you call it... some of the folders of pictures have matching .xmp files and some do not. I think this might be due to a preferences change a few months after I created the catalog - I guess it doesn't apply this change retroactively, or perhaps it would have had I opened those folders... not sure. I had backed up the original RAW files (which are still present on the external hard drive and seem just fine), but the catalog hasn't been backed up recently. I think I have to re-install LR4, and I just want to make sure I can keep all the work I've done.
