Jan 27, 2006I think I right clicked on the tab and did not realize what I was doing until I saw them in the upper right of the screen.
How can I get them back in the toolbar that I had before... the standard one.

Here is some POF: proof of concept, as it were, from one of my recent projects. I's not a final result, I can't post it here. But it's just some quick way to illustrate the way to use Layer Styles somewhat creatively.
Here blood is supposed to be gathering volume and welling as it streaks down. It's all about Layer Styles:
As you can see blood stain is inside the Smart Object. One instance is placed under and another one is put above. The one above is added Layer Styles namely Bevel, Shadows and other ones, but with the gradient mask applied.
This way Layer Styles change there effect smoothly, according to layer mask: Bevel grows it's depth downwards, etc. And the Blood stain itself stays editable as a Smart Object. It can be tweaked any way you like. The same goes for Layer Styles options and the mask. Levels on mask can be used to fine tune the final view.
Photoshop :: No Styles In Lighting Effects?
May 24, 2006The bar that allows me to choose a style in lighting effects is highlighted, yet there is no text in it and it wont allow me to open it and choose any style. A week ago I used this to choose a 3 down effect but now its not letting me. Ive tried using several different photos of different types (RGB, Grayscale)(PSD, JPG, AI) and still dosent open the option bar.

Nov 18, 2008I've question. On my CS4 the layer palette is always closed when I open CS4. Is there some way to set it to stay open? I tried to save a personalised workspace but it does not help.
I hope you know what I mean. It's a real pain since I work with layers a lot and I'm used to having the layer palette open right away. It's useless to have it closed anyway since there is not space to be gained down right where it usually sits.
Photoshop :: Wierd Color Picker/Pallete Discrepency
Jan 17, 2007I've noticed that my color pallete seems to give a wierd blue-green tint to everything that isn't solid white or solid black. I know that if I deselect the proof colors option that the image I'm working on acquires the tint. Which is another thing, all of the sudden Photoshop has decided that it doesn't want to keep the color proofing on all the time. What's odd about all this is it's just started happening today and I don't believe I've done anything to cause it. 'Elp, I'm being oppressed by Photoshop!

Aug 8, 2012We've created a new parts list style for a border.When the border tempalt file is on the c: drive...everything works hunky dory...parts list, revision tables, etc.But as soon as we copy and paste that border into the template library folder for new drgs...the parts list style is missing from the local styles?
So to make it appear on the new document...the style manager has to be set at all styles and the new parts list style has to be saved to the document?What aren't we doing to make it appear on the template?
Also note that because the drawing border template is in a template folder as part of the design projects...it is NOT editable...so it has to be edited outside the template folder.

Feb 21, 2013After intalling Premiere pro CS6 and After effects CS6, I installed add-ons for these programs (newblue, boris, prodad...). When I open After Effects it gives me 38 cases of effects (Detail Enhancer, noise Reducer...) redundant in other programs, telling me to get rid of them.
When I check these effects in my programs, they are mainly .aex files, located in Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe Common Plug-ins, NewBlue Video effects collections 1 to 6. Some of them also exist in avid /pinnacle studio programs (my former video tools I still use to close previous video projects) before concentrating in Adobe CS6 suite. I don't know what to remove in a safe way. Premiere pro CS6 doesn't worry about redundancies ! Only After Effects...

After Effects :: Importing Sequences To Premiere Pro With Camera And Effects?
Aug 1, 2013I have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.
There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.
Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.
P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.
After Effects :: Memory Error With Boris Effects
Jan 17, 2014I'm getting the same error on a project. Originally created in CC/Mac, down converted to CS6/PC (I don't yet have the exact version release). The sequence is 10 layers deep, and throws this error if we try to preview. If 8 of the 10 layers are turned off, then the sequence will preview as normal. So, is this a bug and is there a CS 6 version release that fixes this, or am I looking to reallocate RAM?

Feb 27, 2014I've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.
How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
