View 3 RepliesI've been using the photoshop for a little bit, everything was fine, then like many others i've got it hanging on the "reading global text resources" line. However, i've found the explainations on the adobe site, and several other forums. However, i CANNOT find the file that its telling me to look for. Im currently running a Vista 64bit.
They've said to find it in application settings, however i think on my computer it is program settings, which i found but there is no folder for Photoshop Just Acrobat and Updater.
For some reason my Photoshop CS 8.0 that I have had for years started freezing up and I have uninstalled and reinstalled, looked on C drive for prefs (no file found), tried to delete any new fonts that were uploaded recently (unsure how to locate all of them) and still not able to open and view my files/designs that were save as PSD. I downloaded the CS6 for a free 30 day trial to see if it would open, and yes it opened. if I purchase the CS6 will it freeze up as well? I was unsure if I purchased another version of Photoshop if it would be a waste of money and not open.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWell yesterday, I was using photoshop and everything was just fine but when I tried to open it today it began to freeze after the startup where it tells you what its loading...'Reading Text Global Resources' and i've looked around here in different topics and posts and i tried doing ALT+CTRL+SHIFT but that didnt work at all for me..
the whole thing just stops responding if i try to click into it and now its driving me crazy since I have a template due for a client of mine today!
I have been using Photoshop.
I went to load Photoshop and for some reason it stops loading at the opening screen at the: Reading Text Global Resources...Done.
It will just stop until I click the X to close the program, I have Window check for a solution, then it closes?
I am using CS>Windows Vista Ultimate>2GB Ram>Plenty of free disk space.
have encountered an error message on opening Lightroom 4 using Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.
The message is saying - Error in reading preview cache.
I'm getting the following error:
ERROR 517 : Error in reading TR-20 project data.
but when I compare my raingage input to the one in samples it appers to be correct. Is there someplace else I need to be checking?
I am having in Photoshop CS2. I have had CS2 for over 2 years and have never had this problem. I am not able to open Photoshop CS2. I am getting a message that reads "Could not initialize Photoshop because a required resources text file is missing. It goes through a series of " could not load default contours, styles, custom shaphes because the file could not be found" before getting to the "initialize" window.

What can I do about this? This has NEVER hapenned before.
I'm on a Compaq Presario PC, OS: Windows XP Home Edition.
I am using Photoshop CS2.
I have recently installed Civil 3D 2013 "Gobal - Bridge Modeler "from the Productivity Tools page in subscription centre.
Add-in appeared to installed sucessfully and tab added to Civil 3D ribbon but features do not work. Selecting a bridge type I am given following error message, "Your Evaluation Period has Expired on ...2010".
Software was only purchased relatively recently therefore this should not be the case.
I am not being able to open a .cdr file in Draw. Its about 1.16 gb, I know its big but I didnt realise it has become so big, it has 18 pages now. I am currently experiencing this error when basically putting an Inventor 2012 file (part or assembly) on a flash drive and then loading the file(s) onto a different computer with Inventor 2011 installed. Once in Inventor 2011 and trying to open the necessary file(s) I receive this error. Is there some difference between the 2011 and 2012 files that is causing this to happen? Or the face that I am using the student version of both?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer went down two weeks ago, bad enough that I had to get a new hard drive and start over. When I went to install Inventor, I kept getting Errors 1335, 1334, then error 1406 during installation. I seemed to have gotten beyond those, but when I went to open certain assemblies I started getting "Error in reading RSe Stream (4 not equal 2)" and "Error in reading meta types in RSe Segment AmDcSegment in..." and them it shows a certain file it doesn't like, sometimes repeating for multiple files. I clicked on the communication icon in the lower right of my Inventor screen and it said a maintenance update was available. I installed SP1 and tried again. Same problem. I clicked on the icon again, and it told me SP2 was available. I installed it and tried again. Same problem. I clicked on the icon again, and it told me SP3 was available. I installed it and tried again. Same problem. I clicked on the icon again, and it told me SP4 was available. I installed it and tried again. Now I can't open Inventor at all. Inventor crashes just on trying to open up. I've been running Inventor 11 since it came out with no issues whatesoever. Now I'm two weeks behind with no end in sight.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi was trying to move some files via LR.I've researched and found that everyone else was able to fix their issue by moving the preview database out of LR, tried that but it doesn't fix the problem.I've moved all files except the new preview and catalog (only a single catalog) database from the Picture/ Lightroom folder.I've rebooted the computer several times and tried opening LR, still no joy.The size of my catalog is 3.8GBThe size of the preview is 6.5GB (77,186 files in 45,745 folders). This is a new install from scratch on a new PC,
Specs are:
Intel i7 4770
32GB memory
2 x 250GB SSD drive in RAID 1 for OS and apps
1 x 6TB SATA HDD for images in a RAID 5
1 x 5.3TB SATA HDD for final images in a RAID 5
I've had nothing but issues with this system since day 1, images transferred and they do not show up correcting inthe individual folders (especially 2012). Total image count is about 320,000
Seems to me that LR cannot handle the numbers although LR3.6 was a lot stable this version is shakey all over the place.
I've browsed a few previous forum questions and answers and it appears I might need to find my catalog and delete my preview cache file(s). However, I cannot find where these files are stored. A few of the forum responses said to go into Lightroom edit/preferences to find where these files are stored, but I cannot get into Lightroom. When I open it, it gives me the error message and I can't seem to get into edit to find where these files are stored.
Also, I'm relatively new to Lightroom (been using it for a little over a month, mostly just editing and not much for cataloging and organizing my photos)
When I try to open LR4 I get the message that LR has encountered an error reading the preview cache. I can't find the preview.irdata files to delete or clear.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use an external hard drive for my photographs. Recently I've been getting "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to shut down" message. It says LR will attempt to fix this problem the next time it launches, but once I click ok, the program closes and when I restart it the same message comes up.I use LR4 and am working on a Macbook.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had my Mac crash on me a few days ago and since then I've been only able to work on my current project for ten minutes at a time before I get the above dialogue come up.
It's not just this file that suffers from this and there doesn't appear to be a pattern to which file is affected. The files that are mentioned in the dialogue are outputs from both FCP and from AE itself, they are always Quicktimes and they are compressed with the Animation codec, although I've used a number of other codecs and it doesn't seem to make any difference. If I quit and restart AE, I can continue working for a while on a composition with the same file that caused the dialogue to appear, until it happens again, often with a different file mentioned in the dialogue.
We have re-installed the CC suite after an uninstall and clean-up, but to no avail.
Do we need to reinstall the OS? Could it be a quicktime thing?
i was working on an animation and that was a great animation I worked on that 2 months and i was working on that and when i wanted to save the scene the monitor gone black and i restart my pc.and when i opened the maya and tried to open the scene it said error reading file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just got this error message 'Error in reading RSe stream (4 not equal 0)' after checking out my assembly, and it appears the cause is a small hss part in Frame Generated frame.
The part appears in my tree in the frame assembly and it not showing up in my model, I can't delete it to brake the link.
LR locked up and I had to force close. Now everytime I try to open I get and error message 'LR encountered-an error when reading from it's preview cache and needs to quit'

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe error message has popped up on models, and assemblies, but no parts.
something on the internet said that this may be due to saving in a newer version on inventor, but i am using the latest version, and have been for the past few months. it is especially confusing as on of my drawings is only affected on one page, not the entire drawing. i have also had bad assemblies, but when the bad assembly is a sub assembly inside a bigger assembly its all fine!
Working in LR 3.6, Mac OS10.6.8, 8GB RAM, accessing from an external USB 2TB harddrive, and when opening an image I get the error:
"Lightroom encountered an error when reading a catalogue file and needs to quit.
"Lightroom will attempt to diagnose the problem the next time it launches."
I've run "Optimize Catalogue" and that didn't relieve the problem. Also have deleted preference files and still no joy. I also have upgrade to LR4 in hopes that it will fix the problem and it didn't. So I've removed LR4 for the time being until I can figure this out in LR3.
Here is a screen shot:
I have been using LR since version 1 without problems. I run LR 4.4 on an iMac 27 inch with an external HD - originally OSX 10.6.8. The disk was originally firewire but I have recently changed that to a USB3.0 4tb drive. I copied all my photos and catalogs onto that drive and it worked without problems for about 2-3 months. Recently however I am getting crashes whereas I have never had one before. Suddenly LR4.4 started saying that it had experienced an unknown error and had to quit. On re-launch it wouldn't open the catalog. In fact not only would it not open the catalog, it had left 2 files in the folder with the catalog - lrcat-journal and lrcat-lock. Neither of these can be deleted (I get an unknown error code -50 if I try to do so). However if I restart the computer I can then delete them.
I thought it might be an operating system problem and finally upgraded to OSX 10.8.5. Same problems but I noted an error message saying that there had been a problem reading from the preview cache. I deleted the contents of a folder called Lightroom Cache and deleted my previews. (In fact I run an identical system at another location and simply copy catalogs from one system to the other as I work on them and so I copied the previews from the other system). This seemed to work better.
But then I installed the demo of LR 5, upgraded my LR4 catalog and am having precisely the same problems. I should say that the other system (still on 10.6.8 and an external firewire drive) has worked flawlessly since version 4 was released - and had no problems with versions 1, 2 and 3.
Since LR 5 is exhibiting the same problems, my only thought is that it is a problem with my USB drive. I have run Diskwarrior on it and rebuilt the directory - no problems encountered and have run Disk Utility on it - again no problems found. I have had no problems with the drive that I am aware of - it seems perfectly stable and behaves exactly as it should.
I cannot use LR 4.4 or 5 on this system. Is there any reason why LR should have started to object to the USB drive (it is USB 3.0 and my iMac is only USB 2.0 but there is backwards compatibility). Something is very wrong but I can't work out where to start.
Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. Can't access my library. What can I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep getting this error message in LR 4: "encountered an error when reading its previous cache and needs to quit". I've restarted my computer a few times, but it keeps coming up. I got online and found some posts that say "go in Library and " or other posts. The problem is my LR screen is grayed out and I can't go into it at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the 30 day trial version of Lightroom. I was able to use it for one week, but the past 1.5-2 weeks, it has been locked up and giving this error message. How do I resolve the problem? And how do I reset the 30 day free trial? I would like to have time using the product, before deciding on the annual contract.

How text style creation works. It appears that I can create a text style in a drawing but it is not session related or Global and I can switch between to Styles within a drawing but not outside within a new drawing. How do you create a Text Style that is available at any time and in any drawing. Is this generaly a system setting that is controlled by an admin.
