Lightroom :: 4 Slow Down In Input Mode?
Mar 19, 2013Just recently, when I am inputing new photos the system slows down to a crawl. All other modes have no problem with speed.

Aug 22, 2013When i turn on overprint mode illustrator redraw is super slow. I made real siple file with two boxes from what one is overprinted.When i turn on overprint mode and try to move one of the box it will take time to redraw it on the new place and there is no drag view at all.
I need to use overprint mode quite often and its not an option right now with so slow redraw. Do i need to go back to use sc5?
Lightroom :: 5 - Library Mode Slow To Show Adjustments?
Oct 11, 2013I'm having a serious problem with the thumbnails in Library/Grid mode taking anywhere from 5-10 seconds to "pop in" the adjustments I've made in develop and/or via the quick develop tab. I need to quickly see if large batches of images are similar in color/exposure, and I've always used the Grid to compare them in bulk. Now it seems the previews refuse to update unless I hover over that image for an extended period of time. I've even tried jumping back and forth between Develop (in order to update the preview) and Library, but 8 times out of 10 it reverts to the old preview. I have tried:
1) Clearing my cache
2) Expanding the cache size from 3 GB to 10 GB to 40 GB with no avail
3) Optimizing the catalog
4) Updating Lightroom & Camera Raw
5) Removing Luminance/Sharpen adjustments from all the images
6) Reducing Preview size/quality
7) Using Smart Previews
Because of the sheer numbe of images I work with, I have to store them on an external drive, not my Mac (3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 and 16 GB DDR3 memory). Even when I edit images locally on the machine, I have this problem. All of my software and drives are up to date, and I've got around 90 GB free on my system. making my adjustments on faith and then "re-updating" the previews...but deleting the Smart Previews/Previews and recreating them doesn't seem to fix the problem.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Snap Mode Slow Down Movement Of Cursor
Apr 5, 2013Using an old version of autocad 2012 in my laptop as backup loaded on Window 7. Everytime I used the snap mode it slow the movement of my cursor to move to specific location, but no problem using the Window XP.

If I take a web page screenshot and turn it into greyscale and print that,
I still get some colors coming thru on the printout, even though it looks b/w on the screen.

Jul 8, 2013I have used PSE 5 happily and greatly liked the auto sharpen feature. I have been forced to upgrade to PSE 11 due to Windows 8 incompatibility with 5.
I am appalled to find that the sharpen feature, including auto, does not work in Quick or Guided modes. The small previews in Quick mode show the correct sharpening effect but clicking on them or using the slider does not transfer to the main image. I either have to go into full unsharp mask, which I hate for quick fixes, or use the 'adjust sharpness' option under 'filter' in Quick or Guided Mode, which increases sharpness by an unspecified amount on each click.
VideoStudio :: Slow Motion - How Does Time Lapse / Speed Work
Jun 27, 2011I experimented with slow motion of a water fall video clip from Letchworth State Park of New York where we visited recently. The original clip is 1080p24fps. I used virtualdub, avisynth, mvtools method to change the video clip from 24fps to 96fps, and 144fps. This method smoothly builds additional frames between each of the 24fps appropriately and the method works great to create smooth slow motion that plays in VLC slowing the 96 and 144 clips fluidly slow. Inserting the three clips into VS works fine and play normally. Selecting the inserted 96fps clip, and slowing it by 25% plays jerky, and renders as 1080p24fps the same way. Same situation with the 144fps clip. I played with all the parameters: frame and % and I could not make VS X4 play the clips smoothly. I am hoping I don't understand how to use this new Time lapse/Speed feature. BTW, I also own Premiere Pro, and it does the slow down of these clips perfectly. EDIT: I just tried Microsoft Movie Maker that comes free from Microsoft, and it does the slow down correctly. I am thinking this is a problem with VS X4
Revit :: Getting Work Out Of Demo Mode
Oct 7, 2011So, I was told I needed to use Revit for my course, went on the website and found 'free student version, download now, it's great' or some such, and downloaded it. Soon after it came up saying I needed to activate the product, and gave no indication of how to do so, I left it for a while, then, there being little else I could do, until it came up saying my trial version had run out, and that I needed to activate right then. By then, of course, I had forgotten my password, tried everything it could have been, none of them worked, so I arranged to change it, turns out I have to change it twice, the first new password only working to change it again, so now I have had to make up some new password I will never remember, but anyway. whilst I was trying to convince it to let me sign in with my new password, I found that I could actually still get into the program, and so started work. Turns out I was working in the 'demo mode' and cannot save everything I have done, but now I have finally managed to activate the product and open the real version, but i still cannot save what I did before.
So, long story short, my work is in demo mode, I want to save it, is there any way of copying it into the real version that I can now access and saving it there?

The video I'm watch is telling me to double click the element (which is grouped) to enter isolation. I have tried severl times, even rebooting my computer to see if was a glitch. Still nothing happens when I double click. Using a Wacom tablet. But I even tried clicking with the trackpad, still nothing happens.

Sep 6, 2012i am trying to understand how to work in the connect fx mode, but one thing that seems to be completely eluding me is why the output going to my broadcast monitor (via Kona3) is showing only the output from the left window when in CFX (currently Connect FX schematic), and not the final video.
My mac screen has a 2 up view showing the CFX Schematic on the left and the CFX Result on the right.
Is there any way that i can use the two windows on the mac screen without affecting what is feeding the broadcast monitor? I really want a system that always shows me the final output on the broadcast monitor, with everything else happening on the mac screen.
AutoCad :: F8 Key Doesn't Work For Ortho Mode?

It gets big but with massive distortion then it will clear up but will have an effect like looking into a bunch of mirrers. Also i can not get the adjustment tools to work at all.

I'm using OS 10.6.8 and the latest Epson drivers for the 3880. I have re-installed both PS and the Epson drivers. If I print from Acrobat Reader everything seems to work fine, this only is happening in Photoshop CS5.

Lightroom :: 4 - Can Only See Photos In Library Mode Not Develop Mode
Mar 17, 2012This may be related to other imported catalog bugs, but does not seem to be quite the same. In Lightroom 4, with an upgraded Lightroom 3 catalog:
1. Select a photo in Library mode.
2. Click on Develop to go to Develop mode
Screen shows "No photo selected". I cannot edit photos in Develop mode.
I can see and edit photos that are found in smart collections, but not photos that are simply in my collections from 2012, 2011, etc. folders

Sep 9, 2013I keep running into a situation where I would like to be able to create an edge or a work axis at the intersection of a work plane and the surface of the part. I figured out a work around if the surface is flat, but I haven't figured out a work around for a curved surface.
How do I create work axis where work plane intersects curved surface?
Or put another way: How do I project intersection of work plane and curved surface onto the work plane in a 2D sketch?
I need to be able to draw a 2D sketch on the work plane, but get a perfectly matching projected line onto the work plane, from the curved surface, at the intersection of the curved surface and the work plane.

AutoCad :: Annotative Blocks Work In MEP But Don't Work In Vanilla
Sep 29, 2011All of my block updates work just fine when I use them in MEP 12, but we have a couple of drafters working in vanilla AutoCAD & for some reason the same commands/ blocks/ settings (same exact file even) that work in MEP do not work in regular ACAD.
Now they do "work" - the commands/ block insertion - but the annotative adjustment (i.e. 1/4" to 1/8" to etc) do not work until I select the block and add the desired scale to its annotative object scale list - why is this necessary? it isn't in MEP? The blocks work/ act properly annotatively once inserted and adjusted as mentioned above, but again, why? Why? Why is this necessary? All of the scale are in the block file as it resides in my block folder...?
Photoshop :: CS4 Very Slow
Oct 23, 2008I am getting lots of problems with CS4, some of which have been covered in separate topics on this forum. In the main, it seems to me that there is a real problem with CS4 processing relatively small amounts of data. The difficulties I am experiencing are:
1. Text tool very slow. Just typing a few letters sees my CPU usage shoot to 50%. There is a lag of about a second between typing the letters and their appearance on the screen.
2. Pen tool very slow with significant lag when using the mouse and CPU again shoots to 50%, even for a short line. If I use the tablet (Trust) it sometimes works, but suffers the same lag as the mouse when it does. Most of the time, though, I just get a faint straight line between the start and end point. This morning I got the same straight line symptom on the mouse!
3. Screen redraw can be painfully slow and blocky, but this fault is really sporadic
4. There is no apparent difference whether I have GPU active or not. However, I have just had a strange message. When GPU was disabled I restarted CS4 and got the message that there was a problem with the display driver, and PS was therefore disabling GPU enhancements! After that, the pen worked fine, and the mouse too, but then the mouse started losing curves.
I experience none of these problems when I run CS.
My video card driver is up to date. The trust tablet driver is the latest, but I really do not think this is the issue, as the drawing problem also affects the mouse.
System spec - XP with SP3, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+, 2GB RAM, nVidia Geforce 7600GT, Program on Raptor 70GB, Scratch on separate 70GB Raptor
Photoshop :: PSD CS4 Slow
Jun 29, 2009I run Intel core 2 Quad 2.4 o.c to 3.3, 8GB 1066DDR2 RAM, 512MG NVidia 8800GT, 150GB 10,000RPM WD HDD Windows Vista Ultimate x64. My worst inversion was this pice of crap photoshop CS4. I used to open up to 400 10.3MegaPixel photos with CS2. CS4 drags down just with 100. Won't let me open more than 200. Too bad, come on desingers. I challenge to run my PC against yours. I've tried to configure CS4 to work the way I need it but unfortunatelly I have to wait until "ADOBE" software engineers come up with a new version so I can spend more money on their so famously pirated software to fix the bugs they sold on the previous version. Close to imposible to work with two screens working with different resolution. Photoshop stops functioning everytime an image changes from the main monitor to a secondary monitor. The old friendly Photoshop CS2 allows me to bring anything accross either screen with a continous display of the image. I used to be a Photoshop fan unfortunatelly CS4 lowered my espectations down to about 5%. Might be looking forward to try the competition for a much lower price.
