I'm not sure if anyone here can help me out but I'm having some problems with my Photoshop CS. Every time I go to put a brush onto the layout header I'm working on I get a program error message (Could not complete request due to a program error) and Photoshop closes. I get a pop-up from Windows telling me it will shut down Photoshop and notify me if there's a solution to be found. I've tried three separate brushes from three different custom brush sets and sll of them have caused Photoshop to shut down. Has this happened to anyone else? If so what can I do to fix it? For some odd reason this is only happening when I'm working with large 760x350 journal headers. I was able to work with a 350x80 banner just fine. I reinstalled Photoshop CS several times but that didn't do a thing. I tried going back to the original presets (I renamed the presets folder when I moved my presets from my old computer last fall) and using a default brush but that didn't work either. I asked in a help community over on Livejournal but that didn't bring me much help. I really want to be able to use my brushes on my larger graphics.
The odd thing is I'm trying to make a header for a layout that's 760x350 in size. I go to create the new graphic with that specific size and it won't accept the brushes and gives me those errors. I go to create a small banner (350x80) or a 100px square journal icon and it works just fine. It even works fine on an existing image that's 760px wide and over 400px in height. I haven't tried to start an image that size from scratch to see if that gives me the error or not. I had been getting some help from that Livejournal community but that didn't get me very far. I've posed this same issue on two separate forums and have yet to receive any help. This is a very weird and very specific issue that I need help with.
Just so you know I'm running Windows Vista on my system.
I noticed this was a question when CS4 came out; I've just upgraded from CS3 to CS6 so am experiencing the problem decribed in an earlier thread here:

I have an Nvidia Geforce 7900GS card with an old 2006 driver, 8.4.4.0 I tried updating to driver 306.81 from earlier this month and whilst this solved the brush issue, it caused the PC's cooling fans to operate much more frequently (and noisily) than before so I concluded it was not so suitable for my card.
In view of this, should I be trying an older driver, say from 2009 as the earlier post suggests "because that bug was fixed by Nvidia back in the Spring of 2009"
If so, which one?
I'm running XP, SP3 PC has dual core Pentium CPU 3.4GHz, 4GB RAM (3.25 useable with XP) CS6 updated with all available updates.
I have been searching for a brush, preferably a soft round, that will grow in circumference as I paint a straight line.
i.e. : a brush that starts at say 15px then changes to (e.g.) 18px then 21px, 24px, 27px so on and so forth (And I mean one that will do this without having to stop and change the px size manually).
I tried the brush settings where one can change the angle, roundness, px size etc. but there doesn't seem to be a setting that'll provide what I'm trying to achieve.
I've been Google'n for the last 45+ minutes without any luck. Founds lots of other really nice brushes & btw, if a brush says that it's for Photoshop Cs4 do you know if that means I cannot use it for Cs6? Just wondering.
So, if you already have such a brush would you be willing and/or able to share, or if you know how I can make one myself, that would (also) be great.
PS. If making a brush is difficult to explain just tell me and I will find a tutorial online. I don't mean to ask you to do my homework.
After upgrading to Gimp 2.8, I am loving the single window mode. But the brushes are working a bit differently to 2.6.
I work, mostly, on A4 pages at 300DPI. So when I want to enlarge a brush, I like to use a custom shortcut to quickly upscale the brush so that I can to a large size quickly.
This happened nicely in 2.6. However, in 2.8, I can't find a way to quickly upscale the brush in the same way. I've created the same custom shortcut, but the upscaling takes a lot longer to reach the desired scale. It's a case of holding down the keyboard shortcut and then waiting while the brush gets bigger.
Is there a way to speed up that upscale motion?
EDIT: In other words, is there a way to make the "increase brush size more" function increase its increments?
The brush tool loses the outline of the tool as the diameter gets larger. e.g. at 175px there is a fill outline of the tool. At 200px only a semi-circle is shown.
I use ctrl+ the number pad to change the point size of fonts. I just got thinking, it would be nice to use the same commands for making the current selection larger or smaller too. Maybe 2 and 8 would be down and up by 1 percent of current size and 4-6 could be 1% of original size. 5 would be 'return to 100% of original size.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6
I can't find the blur tool/brush /as in Photoshop/. I need to blur parts of the edges of the hair for example after separate it from the background and it's very useful in other cases but I can't find a tool like blur tool.
I worked in photoshop a lot of years and now I started to work in CDX6. Very familiar with CorelDraw but the PP is a unknown land for me.
The brush tool is no longer working - when I select on any of the brush tools, spray, Art burhs, spray , line, marker etc, they will not work. When I select the drop down nothing is listed. Additionally, none of the other tools in the box, Effect Tool, Image Sprayer too ect, do not work as well. Did I select something to turn off the tool?
I've tried to uninstall and re-install and that did not work.
How do I get a normal brush or spray function? Now, when I release the mouse button, the lines turn into a fancy balloon image. I know that comes from the Brush Stroke List or the Spraylist File List, but how do I turn those functions off?
If this is possible to have a transparency brush in doing fades on curves. the brush would enable to lighten spot colors when brushed over the curve or curves. you could make a whole graphic fade out around the edges just by brushing over the edges.
You could have the capabilities to adjust the amount of the fade on a tool bar. maybe this is out there, but it would save a lot of time when doing graphics for t shirts and you want to fade the edges of the image on the shirt. you rip program would define the half tones by the transparency fade.
Every since I updated CDx6, Photo-Paint no longer allows for drawing or erasing in a straight line by clicking, pressing the alt key and clicking again. Instead a scale comes up that changes the brush opacity...What happened? I can't figure out what happened. See attached file. The red arrow indicates what comes up when alt is pressed.
you can see what i mean in the following picture examples.
Selecting a brush (any 1 pixel) brush

shows my selection . Drawing a straight line

Zooming in to the line (600%) you can see i can draw a marquee through half of it ...

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
I installed cs6 on my brand new Mac laptop yesterday. When I was done, I got a page that said I had over 400 errors during the install.Should I uninstall it and try installing it again?
2008 MacBoo Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB graphics card tried running Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS X 10.7.4?
On my MacBook Pro, PS CS6 launches; however, any action results in an out of memory error. The CS6 versions of After Effects, Premiere Pro and Illustrator all launch and run as expected under 10.7.4.
If I switch to my Mac OS X 10.6.8 startup volume, Photoshop CS6 runs as expected. I have support cases open with Adobe, NVidia and Apple. Adobe thinks I need to update the display drivers. NVidia says display drivers must be provided by Apple. Apple says that the display drivers are current. The Apple support agent said that he can escalate the case if the issue can be reproduced on more than one computer.
I'd love to keep my MacBook Pro running another year or so without having to reboot in 10.6.8 every time I need to use Photoshop. I'd stay with 10.6.8, but of course iCloud requires 10.7.4. I have not tried Mac OS X 10.8 yet, but it's on my troubleshooting list.
Also, PS CS6 runs fine under Mac OS X 10.7.4 on my 2010 iMac.
I am installing CS6 Design Standard on a MacbookPro 8 mgs ram, system meets all requirements. Yesterday Adobe Tech Support and I were on phone 3 1/2 hours trying to remedy the problem. NO GOOD. Still the same issue.
I get error messages and also when I get into the program it also states that the extension files are missing etc..But the install failed and Minibridge didnt install at all, and does not show up or work at all. PS open and appears to work some but it states it failed to install and gives me the following error messages;
0 fatal / 4 error / 0 warning
Payload {4FFA830C0-007A-4DB3-955C-B5EEE73BEDAF} Adobe Switchboard 2.0 2.0 0.0.0 --------- Error: DF013: Failed to delete plist path at / Library/Launchdaemons/com.adobe.switchboard.plist{seq 20} Error: DW063: ARKCmdFS.dylib:failed for command serviceinstall - error: 7 {Seq20} Error DW050: The following errors were found during install: Error DW050 - Adobe Switchboard 2.0: Install Failed Error: DW050 - Adobe Mini Bridge CS6: Install Failed
I downloaded Photoshop CC the other day, and it worked fine. Today when I try and open Photoshop I am getting a multitude of errors about ‘FastCore Routines Module’, ‘MMXCore Routines module’, ‘Multiprocessor Support module’, and then that it could not ‘initialise Photoshop the internal file signature is incorrect’.
When saving images as PSDS in photoshop CS3( using save as )and giving them a label, the image fails to save in a recognisable file. This file is then impossible to open. What I have found is if I type in any old letters eg yyy the photo is saved correctly, and I can then rename it with what I had intended.Any ideas as to why this is happening?
Here is my latest attempt at an out of bounds image.. I don't understand why the lines of the photo are jagged... I did this rather quick but I am a little confused about the jagged lines... which by frustration left me leaving the image as is. Any ideas as to why this happened? I had made a rectangle and did a fill and deleted the inner part.. then when I transformed it I made sure to hold the shift key to keep it correct..
whenever I try and install (In Vista 64bit) CS4 I get the error:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack Error: Error 2.
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack_x64 Error: Error 2.
LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral Error: Error 2.
Does anyone out there know what causes the above errors with CS4 installation? Does anyone know the solution, a Google search provides some clues but none that seem logically worked out.
The only real solution I could find was one telling me to do some things with the public folder, I tried that and the did a clean reinstall and no dice.
