Imagine a normal brush, say 40 in size. if i stroke a bit fast, like normally drawing, and making round shapes, arcs, it isnt really curvy as it should.....it kinda gets some steps whn i stroke really fast...this doesnt happen in other progs....is thee a way i can make a round stroke be really round?...
View 2 RepliesAt work I use mac and a wacom tablet. The lines when i use a brush are very smooth.The problem I am having is occuring on my PC at home. For some reason the brush edges are not smooth (even when i draw a staight line).
In the image attached, you can see the yellow lines done at work (using mac and wacom) and the white lines on my home PC (windows and Huion tablet).Do you think its a settings issue? My home computer has 4Gb of ram and an Nvidia graphics card.
I have somehow reversed the process of changing a sky in my photo so that when I get to the point of painting in the sky from the 2nd photo, it is painting with white (not black) that brings out the background I want on the original photo. Where have I gone wrong? Is there anywhere I can go to find a detailed step-by-step process for doing Layer Masks?

Using two different shortcuts for "undo" (one step back) and "Step Backward" (Multiple steps back) makes no sense to me. As such, I rarely use the regular undo, and do not have it mapped.
The case:
When I switch to a new layer, do a brush stroke and undo it, photoshop treats my undo as a switch back to the layer I came from. This happens a LOT, and not just to me, but to a lot of designers I know (I'm a GUI designer at a game company). Some of them have even formed a habit of "erasing" a bit in an empty part of the layer, just in case the'd later want to undo. That's bad.
My proposed solution:
-First undo my stroke, Leave my selected layer alone.
-On a NEXT press of "Step backward" change my current layer to the one I came from.
I have a Command Method which has a loop that opens and commits transactions until the user is finished with it and exits.
I would like each transaction to be undone separately but the undo command undoes the CommandMethod (along with all the transactions that occurred while in the loop)
Do I need to use the COM StartUndoMark and EndUndoMark to get this working?
I have a quick question about animated gif's in image ready. I have been making some gif's latley in image ready and i have noticed the animations at "no delay" are a tad choppy in their execution. How do you make them go through their movements more smoothly? Is it a different software? For example, I notice that some "smileys" execute with very little choppyness if any... whats the difference.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwell i just upgraded from photoshop 7 to CS2 and of course imageready too. so i was working with imageready cs2, trying to make a gif, when i realized that the movements werent smooth like they were in 7.
heres how a IR 7 gif looked when i made it:

well heres something i made using CS2:
in the CS2 gif, the fading is like, frame-by-frame ish. how come it didnt do that when i used IR7? im using the same steps on CS2 as i did on 7.
I've been having problems with Photoshop CS3 lately, for some reason the image quality is always horrible when I'm working on a PSD.
As you can, see the gradient quality is HORRIBLE.
All I did was add a slightly lighter shade of gray over the background, I have dither checked, I'm using RGB mode, and I'm using 8-bits channeled..
But if I do a simple white to black gradient it turns out smooth, the bad quality gradient only happens when it's two dark colors.
I save my image into jpg/gif or whatever, it tends to lose a bit of detail or rather "smoothness." The image looks very nice and smooth in PS, but whenever I save it to use on the web, It looses a bit of its smoothness. Is there some setting or technique to fix.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOne thing I notice is that when I use the Bezier curve tool in GIMP, when I stroke the path, the result is a jagged messy looking line. In Photoshop however, when I stroke the path with the pen tool, the result is a much cleaner, smoother line. Is there a way to get a smoother result in Gimp like Photoshop does?

I changed the options in preferences to some higher numbers and regenall and everything smoothed out but the bowl. is there another setting somewhere for this? Also the spacers on the table are chrome, but are not showing the material.

I am creating a square on a new layer. I then use the keyboard shortcut cmd-option-t I move the copy of teh square to a new location and press enter to accept.Now I am suppose to be able to press cmd-option-shift-t to repeat the previous move. Nothing happens.
I checked my keyboard shotcuts and the shortcut cmd-option-shift-t is not beign used as far as i can tell.
The brush size on my paint brush and clone stamp are not working properly.

No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation. Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.
I am not very good with photoshop, and if there was a brush tool setting to make it just like an actual paint brush.

When I change the settings for 1 brush... say I add some jitter to a smooth brush - then suddenly the other brushes get the same jitter applied to them.
How can I set the brushes so that each brush has a different setting that doesn't change when I change any other brush settings?
p.s. I also don't get why Adobe has you lock a brush by UNlocking it? Seems to me it should be the other way around?
I have contacted Adobe about issues with Photoshop brushes recently. My issue is that the brush size is smaller than the circle that represents the brush. In other words, when I hoover over the area that I want to paint or erase with the circle and then click, the painted or erased area is smaller that the circle. It's really frustrating when fine tuning an image, you never know how close you are to what you want to correct. This is only visible when you zoom in quit a bit. I worked with an Adobe tech for over an hour and he could not simulate the problem. Then he finally asked if I was using a retina display, (he was not).

i'm using cs6.the picture i'm working with was enlarged to 400%.the brush, stamp brush tool was at size: 12px, hardness 100%.opacity 100%
in the presettings i saw the brush was set to normal size.also i played with the jitter sizes, to no avail.
When I use the Adjustment Brush in Camera Raw it frequently just gives me a pin instead of a brush. How can I fix this? I'm on a Mac in Snow Leopard.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRunning the latest Photoshop CS6 on Mac and the Step Backward keyboard shorcut does not work at all. Command-Z works fine; Command-Option-Z does nothing. I don't believe I'm running any custom keyboard apps that would interfere, and when I check Photoshop's Keyboard Shortcuts it's right there (correctly set as the default).

I'm looking to draw a curving line, but would like no diagonals, so that it looks as if I have drawn with only straight, horizontal lines as if snapped to a grid. Is there a modification in brushes for this? In this pic, see where the lines step around the curve and arent smooth? That's what I want to do without drawing in each individual line.
