I hope ya'll will forgive me but I am drawing a blank on a simple matter. When I try to apply a gradient to the type on this, I have to rasterize the type. This applies the gradient to the entire image rather than just they type.
I have an image that isn't evenly lit. The left side is darker than the right. I want to apply a curve to the image affecting one side more than the other. I've been trying to do this with adjustment layers but have had no success.
i have a diagonal pattern background which i want to apply a gradient to so that it looks like the pattern is disolving. How can this be done? For example in the image i attached, i want the blue to dislove into the white. How can this be done?
I'm trying to create some 3D text where the front (facing towards the user) side of the text has a gradient applied to it. I've tried applying the gradient before extruding it but as soon as you make it 3D the gradient dissapears. And there doesn't seem any options to apply a gradient in the inflation material layer. I'm sure this is possible though
Even starting with a clean slate 400x400 white background, my gradient tool wont fill! The fill bucket works fine, not the gradient. I've selected 5 or so different shades, everything, no luck. I'm in Normal blend mode, 100% opacity etc. I dont see why I cant apply a gradient! Dont know if this will help but when mousing over with the gradient tool, the cursor turns into a small "+" for some reason.....
I have a Hue/Saturation layer with a vector mask applied, and I'd like it to fade from 100% transparency to 0% transparency. How would I do this? I can't seem to work it out.
Is it possible to apply a gradient to a line? I was able to create the line below using the drawing tools in MS Excel and was hoping to do the same in CorelDraw X6, however, I did not see any outline color gradient options.
I have an image I am trying to create that I want to fade from right to left. In other words, I want the right side of the image to be full clarity, color, etc., and have it generally fade to almost gone by the time it gets to the left edge. Think of it as a gradient for an image.
Any way to do that with Gimp?
I found a blur tool. If I cannot do this with some kind of gradient tool, is there a "fade" tool?
I am having a problem with my Text to Path, specifically, I want to apply a gradient to my text, however when I make my path and select my text, the outline only appears over part of my text and thus I am not able to apply the gradient to the entire block.
Edit: It seems like there is a character limit for this type of text, because I added some characters and it shrunk my selected area further.
It seems that all these gradients-in-stroke options are only available for strokes that are aligned to the center of the path. I have tried to set inside and outside strokes, but i cannot for the life of me activate the right two options (even though they look like i can click on them).
I love working with gradients, but i had never seen a "curved" one like this attached jpeg from the IIS page. I like it very much, it seems simple, but i´m not sure how to achieve the curves.
I was reading a tutorial on Photoshop about using a gradient map on a brush (the case in point was of drawing fire, with four colours, black, red yallow and white, making up the gradient map) such that you'd paint just once to get all four colours from each brush stroke. Here is an example. I was wondering how to do that in PSP X3 Ultimate. I am not new to PSP but I never used the more complicated brush features. Scripting doesn't scare me too much, if it comes to that, but I'd prefer a manual approach.
Is there any way to apply brightening along a gradient? Like to compensate for lighting that comes onto a surface from one side, in order to make the surface look more uniformly lit?
I'm working on a logo and I need to merge three objects into one and then apply a gradient. I have a circle, a ring around it and a line that connects the circle and the ring. How do I merge these three objects? I've been looking around the intenet but not found out how to do it..
Updated Illustrator to CC and now my apply gradient to stroke is acting funny (also does it with apply along stroke). First i can't get it to show up unless I find a number it likes (start out with 1 pt, don't see a stoke so increase size 1 pt at a time up to 11 to see it) now the corners have gotten strange, They seem to be missing small patches. You can see in the image I am not doing anything fancy, it's type and then just to make sure it wasn't a font problem I tried just a rectangle. It seems to be worst with corner set to round joint.
I want my type to resemble a building, how do I figure this out? Also i have a thumbnail box which I'm putting my box in, how do I cut off the type from the outside of the box.
I can only use the gradient tool in one instance. After that, the first instance is removed and replaced with the new instance. How can I apply multiple instances of the gradient tool on the same image?
I need to apply a single gradient acros a number of live paint objects but am finding it annoyingly hard to find a way. I know that normally, to apply a gradient across multiple objects, you would need to make them all into one compound path but does this apply to live paint groups in any way?? Can what i need to achieve actually be done?
I have an arc shape that I'm trying to fill with a gradient-type blend where it will be 0% spot on the lower left side gradually going around to 100% spot on the lower right side. The example I have attached shows the shape on the left with a conical fountain just to give an idea of something close, but it won't actually work for my shape. I also attached a cdr X5 file which contains a blend I was working on, but can't seem to get it to work (that is the shape on the right). I tried cutting it in half which works, but I still can't get it.
I have a hatch pattern in one of my objects. I want to apply exactly the same hatch pattern to other objects but I don't remember the settings for original hatch.
There is a command in ACAD to apply properties of one object to others (brush icon in toolbar). I tries to use this command but it seams that it doesn't work for hatch.
What is easiest way to apply a hatch pattern from an object to the other one?
Is it possible to create a gradient similar to radial gradient, except that the shape is other than circular? This image would be the starting point, but I would like the white part fading to black to be another shape (say, a rectangle, a banana, etc.).
I've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.
