Photoshop :: Type Display Is Smaller Than Actual Type Input
Dec 17, 2012The font size shown should be double the actual display 36pt, but it's showing as 18pt. Do you know why it's happening?

Nov 25, 2013I am trying to type Tamil text in Photoshop CS3. I typed Tamil text using Google input tool then pasted in Photoshop, but it is not working.Does photoshop support google input tool? If so what am I missing If photoshop does not support google input tool.

The user then puts a number in each field.

I have a 3rd field created to hold the answer. I also made a text field with the name "scorefield" to see if that would work, either will do.

Then on a button on the stage, the user clicks on it to add those first two numbers together and have the sum appear in the 3rd field or the text field that has the symbol name "scorefield".

However I can not seem to be able to add the 2 values of the text fields. On the submit button I have:Â

The problem is that it is NOT adding number1 and number2 together!

If I substitute + for - or / or * it works using those symbols, but if I try to use the plus sign and add the two, it does not work and instead physically adds the numbers next to eachtoher.

So If I were to put a 5 in field one, and a 2 in field 2, the result comes out to be 52...instead of adding the two values, it places them next to eachother.

I know those ARE numeric values because any other mathamatical sign works. I can multiplay, subtract and divide those two numbers. I can even check to se if its higher or lower of a value using > or <.

But when I use the + sign, it breaks.

Is there some other sign I must use to add two values?

Feb 11, 2014I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?

Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it.
Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it.
Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.
Photoshop :: Type Tool Quotation Marks Display Like Greater-than Symbols
May 23, 2012I'm having trouble with getting quotation marks to display correctly, they look like 2 stacked >> symbols. They change slightly depending on what font I'm using, but they all ride at the base of the text. I cannot acheive normal looking curly or straight quotes at all.Â
I have tried switching smart quotes on and off in the preferences, restarting, etc. I've noticed this problem in the past, but I thought it was the font I was using. The same thing happens with Times New Roman. I'm running an up to date version of PSextended CS5, 64bit on win 7 64.Â
Illustrator :: CS5.5 Type Not Editable Not Selectable With Type Tool?
Jul 2, 2012Working on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck.

By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.

Aug 16, 2009the type tool won't let me insert any type whatsoever in JPG or PSD files. I click the type tool and then click somewhere on the image and all it gives me is a dot but no flashing cursor. As I said, resetting my prefs/settings while starting up Photoshop did not help. Another weird thing it does is that when I go to Canvas Size for a medium sized image, it says that the width is 588 inches and the height is 288 inches.

Illustrator :: Unable To Type Vertical Letters With The Vertical Type Tool?
Apr 15, 2013I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.Â

Oct 23, 2013Any way using autoCAD LT 2014 to get CAD to display the elevation heights of survey points without having to type the heights in text bozes next to each individual point. i can insert a field which displays the elevation of the point but doing this again i would have to do every point individually.
Another words is there a way to select all the survey points required and get CAD to display a certain property, which in my case is the elevation height of that survey point, next to it? so it looks like   x 23.35 x 23.57 etc..

Jul 29, 2013I've used Photoshop for 13 years now and slowly over the years, the subsequent versions have had a problem with the brush cursor maintaining the correct size. Now, with CS6 the problem has become unmanagable! I used to have to go fairly often to preferences to reselect the option to display the actual size of my brushes and pens etc. While a pain, I could deal with it because it only happened once in a while. Now with CS6 it is in a permanent crosshairs mode and will not change no matter what prefs I select! Obviously this makes the program significantly less useful. I'm on a new Mac with Mountain Lion.

Feb 22, 2012I've been working in C3D for about 5 yrs now, and one thing that drives me absolutely nuts about it is how to get the correct layers to display when plotting different sheets out of the same drawing, regardless of the layer state of my model. I worked in Terramodel for about 5 years prior to coming back to AutoCAD and became spoiled by the ease with which layers displayed on different sheets in the same drawing. You assigned a layer state to the viewport and that viewport always plotted that way.Â
It didn't matter what layers were on or off, frozen or thawed in the model view, once you jumped over to the sheet it always looked the same once you set it up. In C3D I've tried viewport overrides, jumping into the viewport and setting the layers then saving the layer state... All sorts of different approaches, but I've never found anything that really works. My projects are typically small enough that I have all of my sheets in the same drawing but want different layer settings on different sheets.Â
