Dec 18, 2007I would like to know how to do this effect if anyone would be so kind as to advise...
My boss received a Christmas card from the graphic design company we use. It had a picture of a snowy field on the front, with her name 'in the snow'.
It looked very effective, as if someone had actually been in the field and dragged their feet to write her name. I tried to recreate it last night but couldn't get it looking that good, mine basically looked like I had dropped 3D text on the snow!
Any tips or recommendations for tools/effects I should use?

Jan 2, 2013i created a pdf file a long time ago. the text is written in times new roman regular. now when i open the pdf in illustrator it shows a wrong font. i think the wrong font could be new times romance or something) but if mark the text and change the font from regular in bold, it shows the right font (times new roman bold).
how can i change back the text in times new roman regular?

Dec 22, 2013I have two questions on animating 2D text. First, is there a way to randomize the actual text, as you can do in AE? For example, I have a string of numbers, le's say "24234" and I'd like them to change randomly over time. Second, I'd like the text to flicker on and off, but on regular intervals, such as every frame it would alternate from 0% opacity to 100% opacity. I was thinking of doing this with an expression that would simply evaluate the frame, and outout 0 or 1 depending on whether the frame is even or odd.

Photoshop :: Error :: The Memory Could Not Be Written
Mar 19, 2009I have an HP Pavilion 730. I have purchased the upgrade to CS4 and it has been working for a while. Now all of a sudden, when I open the program, the computer goes "boink" and a message comes up that says:
The instruction at "Ox77e78804" referenced memory at "0x0at1a1470". The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate or click cancel to debug program.
No matter which one I do, it shuts down CS4 totally?
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and it still does the same thing.
Photoshop :: Recovery Files Only Written On Boot Drive?
Mar 14, 2013Cannot find explanations as for most recovery seems to work fine regardless of where the scratch drive is set. For me it only seems to work if the scratch is set as boot drive, C:.
I became aware of this after recently adding an SSD to my system and accordingly setting the scratch disk to one of the other larger drives. After a photoshop crash there was no recovery - surprising as it had worked flawlessly in the past. I did a test, switching the scratch location among a few drives and seeing where the recovery files were written - the answer was C: drive. In any other location the PSAutoRecover folder was created, but no files ever appear there.

Jun 24, 2012I am trying to animate a simple 3D position change in Photoshop Extended CS6 (OS 10.7.4)Here's what I do:
1. I move my object to its starting position.
2. I move the Current Time Indicator ("playhead") to the time I want the position change to start.
3. I click the Time‑Vary stopwatch icon on the Position layer of the timeline, and a keyframe is automatically created, no problem.
4. I move the playhead away from the initial keyframe to the time I want the position change to end.
5. I move my object to its ending position.
I expect to see the second keyframe be automatically created, as advertised, BUT it is not. What's more, if i move the playhead to "scrub" through the animation, I see no movement. What's happened is the position I set for Keyframe 1 has changed to the position I just moved the object to, which I intended to be Keyframe 2.
Photoshop :: CS5 - GIF Files Stop Animating After Looping
May 20, 2012I use CS5 + Windows 7, and I would like to make looping gifs from .mp4/.avi clips. I make sure that I set looping to ''forever'', and that I save the file as a gif. once I upload it to a site on chrome(like imageshack and tumblr), the image always stops animating or doesn't animate at all. I've tried uploading the image on Firefox, and it looped forever on the image's direct link on imageshack. But when I upload the image to tumblr on either browsers, either from my files or the imageshack link, it still stops looping. When I go to a tumblr page to mass-delete posts, a gif that has a smaller size than an older gif(this one doesn't animate at all anymore) does loop. Every other gif on the whole site I haven't made always loop.

Jun 28, 2009I have a Panoramic that I put together of a Manhattan City Scape that consist of 2 rows of 32 images set at a Portriat format.What I want is to take the Panoramic that I have and fit the image centered on a canvas equalling that of my flat screen tv, that being 1920x1080 with black filler at the top and bottom of the image area.I then want to, or atleast was hoping to save "Layers" with each layer zooming in by a percentage of say 103% (for example)... Until eventually that final layer would consist of a fully zoomed in view of the center portion of the panoramic at full resolution. Ultimately I want to burn the final images to a DVD for playback on my Flatscreen showing the entire Pano Zooming in to its center...I was thinking that I could maybe assemble all the layers into an .AVI or something."

May 4, 2006I wish to create a smooth transition between the Before & After of a Filter Effect. I know settings in Layer Styles can be tweaked in simple animations, how can i do it to a filter effect? I use photoshop & flash does anyone know anyway to do it smoothly? any plug-ins or methods?
the only method i can think of is to create multiple images then adding them in flash, but that wouldn't be smooth enough for me and it will make my flash file too big if i import so many images.
can anyone suggest any workaround to that? any software/plug-in that can do that? The effect im trying to create is the flipping of a page, i found a filter to curl the ends of the page already, but it only saves a image at a time.
Photoshop Elements :: 11 Crashes When Animating Layers In Save For Web?
Dec 22, 2013After months of saving GIFs just fine, Elements 11 has stopped working properly. I've tried uninstalling, resetting preferences, and reducing the file size, but when trying to save a GIF, all I get is a frozen screen that says "Export: Save for Web and Devices". The screen looks like it's trying to save, but never does. I've made much larger GIFs with no trouble at all, but I can't even make one with 5 frames now.

Nov 17, 2013Yesterday Lightroom 5 worked fine. This morning, nothing will export, with the message "The file could not be written." This applies to dng and jpg files. Nothing has changed as the computer was shut down overnight. My HD has 98% (1.97 TB) space available and I have Mac OS X 10.8.5. I recently upgraded to LR5. Neither new files nor old files (on another HD) can be opened, although all files could be opened yesterday. What can I do?

Dec 29, 2013I have a question about the location of any metadata (IPTC, keywords, etc.) written in Lightroom 5 to my raw files. I understand that this data is written (embedded) into jpg files but as a .xmp file next to the raw files. My question is, if I purge the jpgs and do NOT continuously copy the updated .xmp files to my backup drives, and if I were to lose my Lightroom catalog, will all my Lightroom metadata that I added be lost? Or, does Lightroom keep all my metadata in the catalog file? Is the Lightroom catalog the "source" location of the data that's added to the jpgs and .xmp file?
