Photoshop :: Sunken Text Written In Snow?
Dec 18, 2007I would like to know how to do this effect if anyone would be so kind as to advise...
My boss received a Christmas card from the graphic design company we use. It had a picture of a snowy field on the front, with her name 'in the snow'.
It looked very effective, as if someone had actually been in the field and dragged their feet to write her name. I tried to recreate it last night but couldn't get it looking that good, mine basically looked like I had dropped 3D text on the snow!
Any tips or recommendations for tools/effects I should use?

My javascript knowledge is fairly limited but I used the following code on a trigger inside the flake symbol I made:

This all works as a randomly appearing flake which doesn't look like snowfall. How to make the symbol float down from the top of the stage and repeated lots of times to look like snowfall?

Dec 27, 2013Consider a photo with the buildings are falling over backwards for the obvious reason. In Photoshop CS2 one could select Crop, click the “Perspective” box, then drag the top corners independent form one another to align them with some vertical lines in the photo. If there is no vertical line near the edge, one could temporarily drag the side of the crop tool to a vertical line before using the top corner to slant the vertical side of the crop tool to follow a vertical line in the photo. Then drag the two vertical sides of the crop tool back so that their bottom corners coincide with the bottom of the photo, double click, and your building has vertical sides. How can I do this in Elements 12?

Mar 22, 2012I want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."

No matter which one I do, it shuts down CS4 totally?
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and it still does the same thing.

Mar 14, 2013Cannot find explanations as for most recovery seems to work fine regardless of where the scratch drive is set. For me it only seems to work if the scratch is set as boot drive, C:.
I became aware of this after recently adding an SSD to my system and accordingly setting the scratch disk to one of the other larger drives. After a photoshop crash there was no recovery - surprising as it had worked flawlessly in the past. I did a test, switching the scratch location among a few drives and seeing where the recovery files were written - the answer was C: drive. In any other location the PSAutoRecover folder was created, but no files ever appear there.

Dec 18, 2013I've been using Xsplit to record games while I play. I recorded a ~2 hour video and toward the beginning of the video it seems to be pretty a-okay but later in the video when I play it in premier pro, the audio starts falling out of sync.When I play the original raw video the audio and video are both on time.
I read somewhere that the reason why the audio was out of sync was because xsplit uses a "variable framerate".
Not sure if this is true or not, but regardless, I tried exporting numerous times and the audio STILL falls out of whack. I looked on xsplit and there was a setting that i could enable to force constant frame rate..
Premiere Pro :: External Audio And Video Falling Out Of Sync?
Dec 2, 2013So I've recorded some footage on GoPro Cameras at 1080p at 29.97 fps. The audio is 48000Hz.
I've recorded audio using Two Zoom h4ns simultaneously. One is at 44100 Hz at 16 Bits and the other is at 44100 Hz at 24 bits.
Now I've tried both a 24fps sequence and a 30 fps sequence, but neither of Zoom recordings match the video, they start off in synch (because i synch them) and then fall out of synch (obviously).
Is it that they fact that they were recorded at different Hz or fps/bits affect it? Is there any way to fix it that wouldn't destroy the footage aesthetically?

Jul 15, 2013When importing pictures from the hard drive to Elements 11, how can you keep the file structure intact? Specifically, if the original file has both pictures and sub folders, how can you import the original file exactly as it exists on the hard drive. So far I can move the pictures just fine, but I lose the file / sub file identity.
