I remember reading somewhere that two windows could be opened for the same document allowing one to be worked on while zoomed in and the 2nd would update to show the changes.
How do I open two windows of the same document?
This is a neat trick as it allows document to be worked on without continually zooming in and zooming out to see how it all looks.
I am currently using dual monitors and whenever I open or create a new document in CS2 it wants to go on top of the menu bar till I move it. This gets annoying after a while when trying to edit multiple documents. Is there a way to make the Menu bar always on top and the documents to just live in the work space below it and never go ontop of the others? I know this was possible in earlier versions of photoshop.

Tried restarting the program twice and thought I reset my preference.
Unable to print document on windows CS6.6..Not enough memory was available or an object was too complex. Reducing the size of this document window may work. Document was created on mac book pro CS 16.2.1.

Yes I can mouse up and hide PS but I rather click thru the space where the document USED to be but when closed, reveals all underneath it. View 1 Replies View RelatedCS6 Thinks It Has an Unsaved Document Open But it doesn't. Yesterday I did some testing that resulted in a Photoshop crash that was likely due to a bad font. I restarted Photoshop several times after that and did some testing, then just left Photoshop minimized all night.
Today I went to close Photoshop and got an indication that it thinks a PSB document is open, with the same name as the PSD file I was testing with yesterday when Ps crashed.
I assume this may be somehow related to the AutoSave feature, but the file never opened upon restarting Photoshop.
I am trying to duplicate a layer to another open document.
The problem is that it is not visible at all at the new document once the duplication procedure is complete.
Although the layers panel depicts the duplicated layer plus the usual backg. layer, in the document/canvas itself i do not see the layer which by the way is an icon.
I have in design when i open a new document it says 51p0 instead of inches.. how do i fix it ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a high school art teacher and this happened to one of my students. He was working on a PSD file, vectoring an image when PS6 quit unexpectedy. Now when we try to open the file there is an error message "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document." It still has the .psd extension. We are using Mac OS10.8.2. I tried opening it in Illustrator, Preview and Graphic Coverter without success.

Whenever I open an image file using PS, the document window constrains itself to the dimensions of the image (IE: if the image file is 20cm X 15cm, the document window opens to 20cm X 15cm dimensions). I have to close the original file, find the file then open it. Very time consuming and also confusing if you are working fast. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on Windows 7, running CS (2003, I thought it was CS3), and I recently installed a Monoprice graphics tablet that I assume was causing issues with my OS and mouse (PC/mouse kept locking up), and ultimately PS would no longer open either... so I uninstalled the tablet, which seems to have fixed the OS/mouse problems (after some more hassle), but PS would still not open. I just uninstalled the PS SW and reinstalled it, but still can't get it to open.
When I go to open it, it starts to boot up, but then hangs at the same point... the boot screen comes up and toggles through startup to the point of "Reading Text Global Resources...Done." then just hangs.
Also, I've seen similar threads that generally say to "Ctrl+Alt+Shift" etc to reset things, but when I try that, it doesn't bring up a reset option that I can find...
I have photoshop loaded on an external hard drive. I was using Windows Vista, but that computer crashed. I purchased a new computer already loaded with Windows 8. Photoshop will not open. I do know there is nothing wrong with the version of Photoshop because if I take the external hard drive to a different computer, it'll open and work fine.
I have changed the compatibility to everything in the list, and nothing works to open Photoshop. I do not have the disk, so I can't uninstall/reinstall, but it's on an external hard drive to begin with.
