I have an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop with preinstalled PS Photo Pro X3, so no CD/DVD. I need to reformat my hard drive to make it dual boot Win/Mac but I would then like to reinstall PSP X3. Is it possible to create installable CDs/DVDs from the preinstalled (or downloaded?) version? If it's not possible, am I entitled to CDs/DVDs from Corel, or can I download and use my current serial number/registration info to activate the product?
I have been using VS X5 to create DVDs and ISOs from MPEG2 clips that are 30-60 minutes in length, so I end up with one clip per DVD. Now I'm in the process of taking approx. 60 MPEG2 clips, which were originally VHS and VHS-C movies of my kids at various events, and creating 60 minute DVDs and/or ISOs. The MPEG2 clips range in length from 2 to 20 min. When creating the DVDs/ISOs, I want to include the who, where, and when information prior to the video clip. My current thought is to create a timeline in the following format: Title1, Clip1, Title2, Clip2, etc. I would add chapter markers at the start of each title. Once I have approx. 60 minutes on a timeline I would create menus and DVDs/ISOs.
I create a movie file from each MPEG2 that includes content info and use these movie files when creating the DVD/ISO.
Trying to follow tutorials to create text. They all say to choose type (vector, floating, or selection) from the box on the text toolbar. I have been over it with a microscope and can't find it. I have expanded all arrow flyouts - nothing.
I have some photos that might look good as a tryptich or "broken-up" into even more components of equal size and then framed separately. Is there a relatively easy way to do this with PSP X5? I saw a youtube tutorial on doing this in Photoshop that included overlaying some guide lines over the image and then repeatedly cropping and saving the resulting image.
I haven't found the right tool to do this in X5, though I assume such a thing exists. And I'm not sure how to describe the thing to file search. I've tried freehand cropping, but it is pretty inexact. Is there a way to get a more accurate sizing?
Also to those who have done this before. How important is accurate sizing of the component images? Is "close - enough" good enough? I keep wishing there was a wizard available where I could specify the number of rows and columns a photo could be broken up into and then have the wizard do the cropping and auto saving of the resulting image.
I seem to have a ( ongoing) or a series of problems trying to create a video from still Photos or a video that I take with my little Sony cyber shot camera. I believe that the entire problem is the file extensions. I get UDF,MOFF,MP4 to name a few.
MY Camera produces MP-4 photos I download them as such do I have to change or convert them? I tried to convert some to wmv but that did not work . I get a message that windows photo viewer may not be working and could need an update if that is needed where would I get that? I need to know what has to be done . I use corel video studio x5 and also corel paintshop pro x4.on windows 7.0.
Is it me, or is creating a Preset Shape weird in X5. Haven't made any for years, then attempted to make one in X5. It doesn't work (might be a severe senior moment), the is no sub-layer to name.
This is what the Layers Palette looks like when using a shape made in X2:
Up to now, I have been unable to find a tool within PSPX3 to do the following:
Suppose I have loaded a .JPG file into PSPX3. Now I want to draw a smooth curve on this picture by picking a suitable set of points in the picture that will be connected smoothly with a nice curve. All I am able to perform is drawing a somehow ragged curve by (approximately) moving the cursor along the envisioned curve, but this ends up just looking awful. From my math studies, I remember something that is called a (B-)spline curve. Is there any version of PSPX... that allows (B-)spline curves? Similar/easier: simple polygons?
(A) Put in dimentions of dvd cover. FILE>NEW..etc It asks me then; RESOLUTION PIXAL/CM ( what does this mean???? obviously i want the best output possible..but i have a range of photos taken from various cameras for my dvd cover to include...i dont know what resolution they are all sitting at? What do i do? Max it out...to the highest..or the lowest?
And what the..is the choice of RASTER/ VECTOR background?? I just want a plain background to then place into a range of different sized photos.
(B) I can cut out a photo etc...but how do i place some photos onto the blank dvd cover? Everytime i click on an image..it covers the previous? and i cant seem to resize to whittle it down..to work with it...can find my original dvd cover? Is this layer? If so...do i put the blank dvd cover on layer 0?? or layer 1? Then what? I bring in a photo onto ...layer 0 or 1?
(C) Finally, Rulers...despite opting for dimensions in cm or indeed millimeter for my dvd cover...i just want to mark out exactly the front and back and side of it. How do I drag / get a rular to mark this out.
Using X4 on Windows 7. I'm trying to create a series of custom edges to supplement those already supplied in X4. I've created the edge ok and exported it as a frame and it works ok. The problem is selecting it in the dropdown menu under Image/picture frames. Whereas the thumbnails of the supplied edges have grey shading to represent the transparent section of the edge, mine don't, they are just plain white and that makes it difficult to know what edge to select. What have I done wrong? I've opened a couple of the supplied edges and they look similar to mine ie no shading.
This is something that I could do very easy with PS, just CTRL + click in the layer and the object get a selection around it. How I can create a selection for an "floating" object? Sometimes I need to remove some pixels around the object I cant find a way to select the contour of the object again.
New to Corel and am interested in whats called png? I am a Sketch up user (3d cad program) and would like to create portion of my model that I can see through. is there a youtube video that would show me how this is done or explain in elementary term how to do this? I included a gimp video so you can see what I'm trying to do .
I have seen photos where the background is black. Is it possible to do this with Photo Pro X3 Ultimate? If so, how? I'm retired (read as "older" and not as sharp as a younger person) and new at digital photography.
Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:
I installed PSP X4 today on a new PC with Windows 7 and noticed that it has no Animation Shop. Can I install Animation Shop to this machine? Will it work without PSP 9 or does it need certain dlls from PSP 9 ? I really want to be able to use Animation Shop again.
if is possible to create the paint drips in the attached design. I really want to learn how to create urban designs, is corel paint shop x3 suitable for that?
I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
The system runs fine apart from that. When I go to Share, Create Disc, DVD, then check Create Disc, Create DVD Folders, Create Disc Image, Normalize Audio, Delete Temporary Files in Working Folder. Then Click Burn, everything proceeds as normal until both progress bars reach 99%, then I get the following message " Unspecified Error -- 5.0.0".
Nothing gets transferred to disc. This is the same for all projects. I have already tried re-installing VS X5. Nothing seems to make any difference.
I have a version of VideoStudio Pro X3 that came pre-installed on an HP computer. It tends to crash, but I can muddle thru to the point where I can save a project as a video file. Once that step is done, there is no option, not even a greyed out button, that allows me to burn a DVD. The saved file is there, just can't do anything with it. Been thru the process and the instructions several times, the option to burn disks seems to be missing. Is this some sort of trial version, maybe stripped down? The option to export to portable device is also limited to low res WMV, no MP4, 3g2, etc.
I tried to run an update, but the program comes back stating that no new updates are available.
I have been using Ulead VS 11+ for some time with great results. I recently upgraded to Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. The video capturing and editing works flawlessly however when I then want to burn the video to DVD by selecting the “share” tab and make disk it seems to start up DVD Factory which I find totally lame compared to the DVD burning associated with SV11. There seems to be no advanced functions accessible, I can’t seem to insert a photo into the back ground of the menu title, I can't create new decorations to create new back grounds for my title, I can’t burn the project to an .iso file etc. etc. In addition if you save the project and then come back to it later it does not pick up you saved project, and it does not indicate where it has saved to project. Am I missing something here. At the moment I edit in SV ProX3 and burn in VS11.
I am trying to burn multiple copies of a video I have produced. In the final screen to create a disk there is an option to choose multiple copies. I always select multiple copies and it burns the first one perfectly, the burner drawer opens and it asks me to provide another disk. When I do so I get the error: "Does not support burning of DVD-Video on Empty disc. Supports burning on DVD-R/DVD-R DL/DVD-RW/DVD+R DL/DVD+RW disc. Please insert another disc to continue, or click Cancel to stop the process."
The disk burner is a ASUS BW-12D1S-U.
This is quite frustrating as I seem to have to cancel each time and ask it to generate another disc, which I suspect is a longer process then just making multiple copies.
I have been using corel video studio pro x4 for about 6 months for uploading videos to youtube. Works just fine. I have now edited and composed a 50 minute video that I have tried to burn onto dvd+r and when the finished product is played it starts out just fine and in time. Minute by minute though the audio starts to lag away from the video being displayed to where at the end of my 50 minute dvd it is off by more than 5 seconds.
When using a DVD/CD template to do a design to print onto a DVD/CD even though the template shows the circular shapes of both the outer circumfrance and the central hole etc if I paste a square design onto the circular template the design is not restricted to the printable area of the DVD. How do I achive a design that is just printed onto the printable are of the disk?
I'm in a real pickle: Bought a top shelf Sony V. Cam. In HD the format is AVCHD, which X5 Pro doesn't want to know. The Sony software,'Play Memory Home' only allows basic editing like trimming of clips. So I tried 'Batch Convert' and picked MPEG as target to edit my 1 hr 4 mins of Kruger Park wildlife, which entails hours of work. When I start on the disc burning procedure (or video file production) after several mins I get the 'The program encountered an unspecified error and will be closing down',
I have tried different output choices, like 'DVD" or 'AVCHD' at different compression, tried deselecting hard- and software acceleration etc, to no avail, same error every time, I get told to send the Dump file to Corel for analysis, fat lot that would do! If I started with a conversion to a different file system I would probably have to go through the editing again, sound, transitions and all?
Does Video Studio Pro X4 allow for the creation of DVDs with switchable sub-titles, ie giving the viewer the option to watch the movie with sub-titles (eg English sub-titles if another language is used in the movie) or without subtitles?
I have been using Video Studio Pro x2 for several years to edit and burn DVDs from the edited material with no problems. But for the last several months the burning process stops at the end of the VOB (whatever that is) but the blank disc is altered so it is unusable. It says that the Corel softwart has encountered a problem and has to close. I send a message every time but nothing comes of it. Another recurring problem is that it keeps telling me that the program will take a long time to burn even though I have checked the box to not show this message again.
The only way I have found to get the software to perform properly is to remove and reinstall the soft ware. Normal operation lasts for about four discs and the problem reoccurs. I have cleaned the hard drive of unnecessary files, etc. All my security updates are current.
I used this software on my previous two computers with no problems at all despite a much smaller Hard Drive, slower motherboard and much less memory.
