Does Video Studio Pro X4 allow for the creation of DVDs with switchable sub-titles, ie giving the viewer the option to watch the movie with sub-titles (eg English sub-titles if another language is used in the movie) or without subtitles?
View 2 RepliesMy Video Studio X5 refuses to create DVD's.
The system runs fine apart from that. When I go to Share, Create Disc, DVD, then check Create Disc, Create DVD Folders, Create Disc Image, Normalize Audio, Delete Temporary Files in Working Folder. Then Click Burn, everything proceeds as normal until both progress bars reach 99%, then I get the following message " Unspecified Error -- 5.0.0".
Nothing gets transferred to disc. This is the same for all projects. I have already tried re-installing VS X5. Nothing seems to make any difference.
I have a version of VideoStudio Pro X3 that came pre-installed on an HP computer. It tends to crash, but I can muddle thru to the point where I can save a project as a video file. Once that step is done, there is no option, not even a greyed out button, that allows me to burn a DVD. The saved file is there, just can't do anything with it. Been thru the process and the instructions several times, the option to burn disks seems to be missing. Is this some sort of trial version, maybe stripped down? The option to export to portable device is also limited to low res WMV, no MP4, 3g2, etc.
I tried to run an update, but the program comes back stating that no new updates are available.
I have been using Ulead VS 11+ for some time with great results. I recently upgraded to Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. The video capturing and editing works flawlessly however when I then want to burn the video to DVD by selecting the “share” tab and make disk it seems to start up DVD Factory which I find totally lame compared to the DVD burning associated with SV11. There seems to be no advanced functions accessible, I can’t seem to insert a photo into the back ground of the menu title, I can't create new decorations to create new back grounds for my title, I can’t burn the project to an .iso file etc. etc. In addition if you save the project and then come back to it later it does not pick up you saved project, and it does not indicate where it has saved to project. Am I missing something here. At the moment I edit in SV ProX3 and burn in VS11.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to burn multiple copies of a video I have produced. In the final screen to create a disk there is an option to choose multiple copies. I always select multiple copies and it burns the first one perfectly, the burner drawer opens and it asks me to provide another disk. When I do so I get the error: "Does not support burning of DVD-Video on Empty disc. Supports burning on DVD-R/DVD-R DL/DVD-RW/DVD+R DL/DVD+RW disc. Please insert another disc to continue, or click Cancel to stop the process."
The disk burner is a ASUS BW-12D1S-U.
This is quite frustrating as I seem to have to cancel each time and ask it to generate another disc, which I suspect is a longer process then just making multiple copies.
I have been using corel video studio pro x4 for about 6 months for uploading videos to youtube. Works just fine. I have now edited and composed a 50 minute video that I have tried to burn onto dvd+r and when the finished product is played it starts out just fine and in time. Minute by minute though the audio starts to lag away from the video being displayed to where at the end of my 50 minute dvd it is off by more than 5 seconds.

I wonder if there is another setting that would reduce the size some without degrading the quality much.
I'm in a real pickle: Bought a top shelf Sony V. Cam. In HD the format is AVCHD, which X5 Pro doesn't want to know. The Sony software,'Play Memory Home' only allows basic editing like trimming of clips. So I tried 'Batch Convert' and picked MPEG as target to edit my 1 hr 4 mins of Kruger Park wildlife, which entails hours of work. When I start on the disc burning procedure (or video file production) after several mins I get the 'The program encountered an unspecified error and will be closing down',
I have tried different output choices, like 'DVD" or 'AVCHD' at different compression,tried deselecting hard- and software acceleration etc, to no avail, same error every time, I get told to send the Dump file to Corel for analysis, fat lot that would do! If I started with a conversion to a different file system I would probably have to go through the editing again, sound, transitions and all?
I have been using Video Studio Pro x2 for several years to edit and burn DVDs from the edited material with no problems. But for the last several months the burning process stops at the end of the VOB (whatever that is) but the blank disc is altered so it is unusable. It says that the Corel softwart has encountered a problem and has to close. I send a message every time but nothing comes of it. Another recurring problem is that it keeps telling me that the program will take a long time to burn even though I have checked the box to not show this message again.
The only way I have found to get the software to perform properly is to remove and reinstall the soft ware. Normal operation lasts for about four discs and the problem reoccurs. I have cleaned the hard drive of unnecessary files, etc. All my security updates are current.
I used this software on my previous two computers with no problems at all despite a much smaller Hard Drive, slower motherboard and much less memory.
Since I am unable to burn DVDs with my current computer drive I want to burn them on another computer using the VSProX4 software. Also the video quality of the DVD I burned on this computer is poor. What is the easiest way to burn them on another computer? Should I create DVD folders or create disc image or just copy the files in the Corel VSPro folder on Documents and transfer it to the new computer. I rendered a video file from my project and it is saved in my projects folder in documents.

Project completes video rendering but doesn¡¦t complete writing to disc. It stops half way. Then a message pops up saying ¡§The burner is busy for another application.¡¨ I press ok and another message comes up: ¡§The drive is busy or is being used by other applications. Please make sure the drive is ready, close all applications that may be using the drive (including folder windows), and try again. [534:-2147216300:0]¡¨

I have made sure no applications are open and the drive works fine with other software. I have included Print Screen shots of when I encounter the problem.
I'm using VideoStudio proX5. Previous versions of the VS program have allowed me to opt out of using a preset image template for the menu pages and instead to choose a background image of my own to put behind page headings and video thumbnails or text titles. I can't see how to do this in VSproX5. Any background image I introduce is always partly covered by unwanted areas of template and the right-click menus won't let me delete or move them to the back. I just want a plain uniform background and to be able to choose the coolur.

I bought a "Startech S-Video / Composite to USB Video Capture Cable w/ TWAIN and Mac® Support" so that I could use any software w/it. I thought I could use Microsoft Movie Maker, but it doesn't work. So, I got VideoStudio Essentials X4 with the capture device. All my tapes are fine, and they play fine with I'm capturing...but when I go to view the video, it's jumpy. I only did a few minutes to see how it would do and that's where I hit a wall. I've emailed with Corel support for almost 2 months to find out that they don't support the software I got. As a last resort, he asked that I download the free version of VideoStudio Pro X4. I did, and still the same thing happens.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been using VS X5 to create DVDs and ISOs from MPEG2 clips that are 30-60 minutes in length, so I end up with one clip per DVD. Now I'm in the process of taking approx. 60 MPEG2 clips, which were originally VHS and VHS-C movies of my kids at various events, and creating 60 minute DVDs and/or ISOs. The MPEG2 clips range in length from 2 to 20 min. When creating the DVDs/ISOs, I want to include the who, where, and when information prior to the video clip. My current thought is to create a timeline in the following format: Title1, Clip1, Title2, Clip2, etc. I would add chapter markers at the start of each title. Once I have approx. 60 minutes on a timeline I would create menus and DVDs/ISOs.
I create a movie file from each MPEG2 that includes content info and use these movie files when creating the DVD/ISO.
Im editing my home dvds that i have imported to my hard drive, now using VideoStudio x4 to crop them into the right clips and adding text,
So far ive managed after some reading to set the in and out points, drag it to the time line, then add text... I had a bit of trouble finding out how to save it, but i think im right in clicking "3 share" and then "create video file" to save the clip ?
Once ive done this what is the best format to save the clip as? baring in mind once i have all my clips cropped with text at the beginning, im hoping to burn them all to a DVD, and add menus... Is the menus also something that can be done on Video studio?
I am pulling myhair out here HAve just purchased X5 and having fun playing with it BUT I cannot figure out how to put a title on a chapter. If I add a chapter it will come up with the thumbnail and the time under it But unlike the earlier versions where you could simple change the title and thumbnail to what you want X5 seems to have hidden this feature very well.
View 5 Replies View Relatedon the overview download page on VS pro x3, i see there are a few title packages (and fonts + and styles) i can download , but when I click "now download" it goes back to the normal screen where i can edit videos. other title and fonts i can use after downloading some dont. maybe there in some sort of cache or so because i think to remember that i used to download it once but tried to install a few at the same time and this don't function. and the next start of VS pro x3 a screen pops up with some things(i think the titles) and i don't know what i have clicked.

The typical word processing stuff doesn't work: Combining half marks; Combining diacritical marks; Typing special characters (Unicode Standard) even when assigned to custom keys.
In Hawaiian, I need to use a glottal stop (upside down, mirror image apostrophe) and a standard macron over an "I" (hard to find in any language) to be correct. I don't think I'll find an Hawaiian keyboard. Changing languages doesn't work either because the restriction is; availability of keyboard characters.
I've used VS11+ for making DVD's quite a long time. However, I've just made a DVD with a menu and it gets stuck between titles. This is weird because I've used the titles in other productions without fail. Where do I start to fix this? Shift them around? Delete them then re-add?

I'm using Prox5 and I love the program, but I cannot save my project without the titles that I have in the project off center,over to the right. I did manage to save my project as a MP4 Hd format and it was fine, when it comes to the titles,but of course the quality isn't as good. I want to save it as AVCHD or Blu-ray. The video files I have in my project are all MTS files.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using VS pro X2, but since getting Win 7 I got X3 for stability. This is the first time I've actually used it for a new video. Yesterday I had all of my titles available to me in X3, and was making a new video with them. After unsuccessfully attempting to open an X2 file (for some reason NONE of my X2 files will open in X3, VERY frustrating) for comparison, I opened X2 after closing X3. When I went in to open X3 again, ALL but 2 of my titles are now gone, and I only have 3 transitions (I have about 15 or so in X2). Where are all my effects and titles?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm moving over from Pinnacle Studio 15, and so far I like what I'm seeing with VS. The preview pane is MUCH better for editing Hi Def video than what Pinnacle provides, so I may be a convert. But, in Pinnacle, it is easy to create a title, and change the background using stock photos, or your own photos for that matter. I'm having difficulty editing the titles in VS. Is there a way to change the background?

At least on my DVD/Blu Ray player, when a DVD is stopped while playing, the tv monitor's screen reverts to a home page that lists the name(s) of the movies on the inserted DVD. So if the DVD is Star Wars, the screen will display something like "Star Wars: the Movie" and "Star Wars: Additional Content," which represents the two titles the player recognizes from the inserted disk. (Note that this is not the DVD menu, but something the player is reading from the disk prior to launching DVD.) When the inserted DVD has been created by Video Studio Pro X6 and is then stopped, if there are, say, two film clips on the DVD, the screen displays Just the words "Title 1" and "Title 2".
My first question, then, is whether VS Pro X6 allows me to give the clips actual titles, say "The Zoo," and "The Park," so that these titles, rather than the generic "Title 1" and "Title 2" will display when the DVD is stopped.
My second question is whether VS Pro X6 allows me to issue instructions so that when "The Zoo" or "The Park" (or for that matter "Title One" or "Title 2") is selected from the player, that the DVD's menu will come up rather than the selected clip. (This question is even less important than the first, but while I'm on the topic, thought I'd ask; I have adjusted the settings so that a finished clip is followed by the DVD menu, but I'd like to be able to launch the menu from the player without removing and replacing the disk or starting a clip and then interrupting it by selecting Menu.)
I'm running VS11+ with all three patches/updates. I just made a beautiful Bluray HDV project with m2t files. However, I've noticed when making a DVD with SD clips, VS plays the first title, it skips the second title and goes to halfway in to the third as if nothing was wrong. The preview shows and plays the clips properly. It's only when making the final folders/image that it goofs. It doesn't matter what mpg I put into the second slot. It's always skipped. I've removed the second clip and saved then re-imported. It's always the same. I didn't see anything on a search about skipping titles. I'm fairly amazed it didn't work with SD. I've even popped them in 2 other authoring programs and they all work fine....just not VS11+.

I cannot find any way to make just a Title and place on the clip anywhere I want. I double-click on the clip, but it automatically puts the text at the top of the screen and then takes on the attributes of a template.

I had no problem learning how to set up scrolling titles in Video Stuidio X5… the kind that scroll up from the bottom of the screen and disappear off the top. But I need to do something different now.
I am working on video of a stage musical I videotaped. For one rather complicated number, I would like to have the lyrics scrolling up from the bottom of the screen and disappearing two or three lines above the bottom "video safe" margin. Functionally, these would serve as open caption subtitles for the number. Accomplishing this method would be preferable to creating a series of individual subtitle segments and trying to match them up to the video. For this number in particular, that is not at all desirable.
I'm using X5 with SP1 on WIn7 SP1 and, only since tonight, the titles on my projects are blocky and ragged not smooth like normal. If I play the projects, they look fine and the title letters are smooth. It's happening whether I do a batch conversion or singly. The projects are 29.97 fps NTSC 480 lines frame based - same as the source clips. Other projects like this have been fine and it's only tonight it's started. I've restarted the program and restarted my OS as well - no change. note my Win7 is in a VMWare environment but the VS X5 program has been working just fine until now. I've successfully rendered over 150 projects all with smooth edged titles on my set up... until now.
