View 3 RepliesI would like to get some variety of photos looking like they were taken during the civil war era. This would include white specks, black splotches, blurred edges, irregular black edges, etc. I have looked for ways in which to accomplish this and have not been successful at this.
Currently, I am using the following to varying degrees: Sepia Toning/Black and White, Blur, Salt and Pepper noise, and Vignette.
I have PSP 5
I have an old black and white photo of a family member I would like to colorize. how is this done? ? I am new to photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem printing out a black and white photo. This is the first time I'm tring to print from PSP 3. When the photo is printed out, instead of looking like what I did in PSP 3, it looks like it was imbossed and black pencil. I have done a search and played around with PSP 3 with no luck..Even reinstalled PSP 3. If I go to the photo file, both the saved and the original, and print it directly, they comes out near perfect, except for a purple tint in both. You do not see the purple tint in the photo when in PSP 3 or the saved file untill it is priinted out.

I'm having trouble changing a black and white map to filling it with a color. In the materials palette the foreground and background remain in the greys/blacks and will not accept the change to a color.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI started with a tif image that's a black & white drawing and used the fill tool to fill in some black areas that were supposed to be solid, but weren't. I also did a lot of cutting to get rid of specks on the image. It looked fine when I closed and saved it, but when I went to convert it to a PDF, all my tif's have a black background and white lettering--should be just the opposite. I have gone into the images and they all look that way (apart from the PDF). I'm guessing this is a layer issue, but I'm new to this program and can't figure out what I did wrong and how to fix it. I really don't want to start over. So, to restate, everything that should be black is white and all that should be white is black.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen tons of photos in black and white that look spectacular. I have a feeling a lot are taken with black and white film, but some must be turned b/w! My question then is how do you achieve this awesome b/w in photoshop? For a while I just turned it grayscale (i know, i know.) Then I just desaturated. And recently someone told me to make a hue/sat adjustment layer and play with each of the different shades. After playing with all these ways I haven't been able to get the effects I want. I tried browsing around looking for a picture that embodies what I want just in case...And I finally decided to just give you a site, I love this photographer and the ways she uses b/w and other tons!
Amazing Photography in b/w and others
Recently I scanned many old black and white photos to my computer. I wanna colorize some of them. I do have experience of using photoshop, but what I need is the best way to colrize a black and white photo, [like using photoshop channels etc..]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CC and something really odd is happening: On some zoom levels I have this empy black or white box appearing. When I zoom in or out it disappears, or reappears.
However, when I save the file as a JPEG, or bring it into Google Nik it is OK. It's almost like there is a software bug, or a bad memory spot in my video card.
I use Lightroom 2.2 to import and convert RAW photos from my Panasonic Lumix LX3 to DNG files. Works great except for one thing:
If I shot a photo using the LX3's 'Black and White Dynamic' preset, Lightroom imports it and a few seconds later, the photo becomes colored (really yellow) instead of remaining black and white.
That's weird since I don't use any Lightroom preset when importing these photos. It seems like Lightroom is applying some type of auto-correction to these photos.
I have a photo of my brother's hand wearing a wedding band. I would like to have the whole photo in black and white except his wedding band, which is golden in color.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having quite a bit of a problem with Paint.NET.
I'm scanning some text and saving it in black and white BMP files, usually around 60KB each.
Thing is, I need to edit those files to rotate the image a bit (sometimes the pages are misplaced) and when I save them as PNG files, they end up being even larger than the original file (around 100KB each).
I tried opening them up using Win7's Paint, and after saving them as PNG, I get a file of around 16KB.
Obviously there's some setting in Paint.NET that I'm missing, would you mind pointing me to it?
EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention that I've also fiddled around with the settings in the "Save as..." dialog to no avail
I want a plugin that make the black and white (pic. 1) pictures to color pictures (pic. 2) like RED or what hex you add in. Opposite of Black and White addon (pic. 3).

I'm a complete newbie and I'm trying to design some T-shirts using public domain clip art of old woodcuts and pen and ink illustrations. I want to have them printed by an online site. The trouble I'm having is making the image transparent so that the black line art is solid but the color of the t-shirt shows through. the illustrations are so intricate it is impossible to use the magic wand or erase the white area within the illustration. Is there a simple way to do what I want to do?
