Paint Shop Pro :: Calibrating X5 With Canon MX700 Printer?
May 8, 2013
I'm using Paint Pro X5 and I have a Canon MX700 printer. The colors from my PaintShop pics are awful when I print them. They don't look anything like the picture in PaintShop. Is there a way or a software program I can use to calibrate the colors between PaintShop and my printer so what I print looks like what's on my PaintShop screen?
how to change the printer associated with PSP or add another printer? I have 2 printers installed on Windows7 but the only one I get when I try to print from PSP is the wide format printer & no option to add another. Is printing from Windows Photo Viewer my only option?
I shoot with the Canon 40D. The Raw processor in PSPX4 is showing an anomaly when converting my 40D files raw files. When I initially load raw images, and when the image is displayed, it is shown at one setting. Then in 3 seconds, its updated again showing a 1 stop darker, desaturated and less sharper image. Each time I click on another image on the bottom column, same thing. The new image is displayed, then 3 seconds later the same thing happens. There is a noticable difference when I view the same photo in Canon DPP. The PSPX4 Raw File just looks terrible. This does not happen when I edit a JPEG that has already been converted.
How do I stop PSP4X Raw from doing the second update?
The printer setting - I could never save it.For my label printer LP2844, every time I print, it defaults to Width=4.88 and Height=11.00 and some unprintable area settings. Every time I do my first printing, I have to change it (to 4"x6"). I have gone thru my Windows printer device setting (properties, preferences, advanced, etc) and I have removed the printer device, deleted and driver, reinstalled everything and it still does it.Then I try it on another PC. Same thing.Paint shop Pro X4 Pro V14.3.0.3 licensed version. I paid for it.It seems like Paint shop saves its own printer saving somewhere and I can't re-save it.
I am using W 7 and PSP X3.My printer crashed and I have replaced it with a new one.It is an HP 8600.I have it connected to my laptop using a wireless connection which is the way my previous printer was connected.I have prepped 2 photos that the Mrs wants a 5 x 7 copy of each.I then click on File > Print Layout and get an error message saying There is no default printer installed.
The printer is known to the computer as I have printed from MS Word and I have scanned from the scanner to the computer. How do I get PSP to know the printer?
have PSP X4. RAW files from my new G15 have colors totally scrambled so I suspect yet another rev of Canon's CR2 format. See CR2 & JPG thumbnails, attached.
Satisfied with X4 and rather not upgrade now. Have installed Canon's "Digital Photo Professional" which correctly reads the CR2s. Rather work in PSP; Canon's app can save RAW as
Exif-TIFF 8bit TIFF 16bit and both in combo with Exif-JPEG
will TIFF 16 bit preserve the RAW data and then I could edit in PSP? Other alternatives?
I have a Lexmart Pro 705 printer. The problem also occurred with a canon printer. This also happens with both my Laptop ,and desktop computers.
I will edit a picture so that it looks great on my computer screen , then when I print it on good Kodak paper ,it will be several shades darker. The old photoshop programs had a preference so that you adjusted to the printer. I know there has to be a trick to this.
6 months ago I purchased a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. I reinstalled Paint Shop Pro X4 but have not used it much since then. Recently I wanted to print some photos and I was very disappointed that the results were VERY red. I have a Canon MP600 printer that I have used for several years with very good results. With my old computer (on Win XP) the difference between the monitor and printer was minimal. I am not familiar with the technical jargon relating to color management and relied on the operating system to do a satisfactory job. I only use PSP as a hobby and am not as picky as most photographers but this was very disappointing. I also tried printing some graphics as might be used in a brochure and the colors were too red. I cleaned the print heads as per the Canon instructions and all 5 ink cartridges are full. I might also mention that grayscale images print looking similar to sepia although they are grayscale on the monitor.
don't get too technical as I don't really understand this whole "color management" thing.
know if X4 will or does support the RAW files of the Canon 5d Mark3? It's a new camera, and DPP (Canon's own software) is having difficulty processing RAW (Image Softness) from the mk3.
I am running into an issue trying to complete processing of some images. I have converted a Canon CR2 raw file to TIFF, then opened into PSP X4. Now I wish to save as a JPG file. I've flattened & converted to 8-bit RGB. When I go to save it pops up an error stating: "An error has occurred while trying to write to the file". I can save the TIFFs, I can save to PNG, PSP, BMP, and presumably everything else. All except JPG--which is of course what is required. I can create an image from scratch and save to JPG. I've tried simply copying the image and pasting to a new image, then saving with the same error. Same with opening the PSP image back up & trying to save as JPG. I am updated to the latest patch just released.
I recently got a new computer, with Windows Vista. I used my wife's existing CD to install Paint Shop Pro 7 (from 2001 - yikes!). It seems fine, except for a few of the preferences. The BIG problem is that the [Printer] button on the Page Setup dialog no longer appears! Here's the verbiage from the PaintShopPro7 user guide:
6To surround the image with a color, click the Background button. When the Color dialog box opens, choose the color. The area of the paper from the image edge to the paper margin will be covered with this color.
7Click the Printer button to open the printer.
8Click OK to close the dialog box and save the settings.
X4 SP2 is supposed to add RAW support for the Canon S100 and Panasonic FZ150 cameras (I own both.) However, after installing SP2 neither of these RAW file formats can be edited. I tried dumping the Temp folder, but no joy. I tried calling Tech. Support and all I get is "Tech Support is not Available at this time." In the middle of the work day?! The About popup says I'm running Ver. 14.2.0.1. I'm not sure the update has taken.
Is there an easy way (program) to prevent duplicate file names when transferring pics via card readers from multiple Canon EOS devices which all have the same filename format "IMG-xxxx". Specifying downloads to a dated folder name exacerbates the problem when combining the pics into a common folder at a later time. We have been manually renaming but this is becoming burdensome. Was wondering if PSP X4 has a front end downloading program that could handle this.
How to make the printer profiles made by the COLOR MUNKI PHOTO work in PSPX4?
I have tried a lot of different settings in the Color Management of PSP X4, in the Color Management of Windows (Win 7), and in the Printer Driver (Epson Stylus NX300), all with no success.
I also have problems when trying to SOFT PROOF these profiles in PSPX4: what I get is an unusable image covered with a deep fog, an image that is far from what is printed. And I know these printer profiles are good because they work correctly in Photoshop Elements 10.

I have one administrator account and two users accounts (user A and user B) with the same priviledges
The Problem:I can use my scanner smoothly if I log in as either administrator and user A, conversely when I log in as user B PSP tells me "no scanner found".If I log in as user B and run PSP as administrator the scanner is recognized and works properly. When the scanner works, inside PSP - File - Import - Twain origin I see the following window
TWAIN OK Twain_ok.JPG (17.61 KiB) Viewed 570 times
I just bought a Canon Pixma ip4920 printer, and I use Paint Shop Pro X4 - the problem i'm having is that what I see on scrren and what I get when printing a picture are totally different. My computer is a Dell Inspiron laptop. How to calibrating the colors to match?
I am trying to scan images from HP8600 printer/scanner attached via network. I get this error message "Not enough memoy to complete this action. Please close one or more documents or applications and try again. If this does not correct problem, you can try adjusting the memeory setting in Windows or you can work on a smaller version of the document."
I have already: - rebooted to have a "fresh" copy of Windows 7 - increased the virtual memory from 6GB to 9GB - decreased the scan to 100dpi (from the standard 200 dpi) - tried a different HP8600 - had the HP8600 scan and push the image to the computer (works, but just an average image) - searched the forum - read the PSPX5 bug thread
I'm looking for a way to print CDs (to Canon ip8500 and ip4300 printers) directly from Photoshop. I'm on x64 where Canon's CD Lable-print won't run, besides which I'd much prefer to print from Photoshop anyway. Is there a plug-in, a work round, a clever trick?
I have stiched together six photos to make a panorama photo. When I go to print that combination photo only one of the six photo shows up in the Print window. Only one photo is printed, not the panorama one. I tried using the Finder > Print box and the copy of the panorama photo I had in a folder on the my desktop. That worked. I want to use photo paper for the print and make some adjustments, that doesn't work from the Finder > Print selection. The original panorama photo was a TIFF file and ended up to be 155MB, but I made a copy in JPEG and that file was 13.2MB.
CS3 / XP Home. I am trying to print a 7 by 10 in image using my old Canon BJ200 printer. On Page Setup the right margin always default to 2.5 in,despite repeatly input to defferent numbers. I've lowered the image to 300dpi with no effect on print setting. What can I do?
Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:
I have CS2 running on XP with a Wacom tablet. How do I calibrate the setings for Photoshop; I understand this is a standard maintenance operations with CS products.
I installed PSP X4 today on a new PC with Windows 7 and noticed that it has no Animation Shop. Can I install Animation Shop to this machine? Will it work without PSP 9 or does it need certain dlls from PSP 9 ? I really want to be able to use Animation Shop again.
My pictures show up much lighter at home than they do at work. Do I need to recalibrate my monitor? How do I do this to make sure that the picture isn't as dark?
monitor using sRGB profile, photoshop everything on sRGB -> all goodmonitor using sRGB profile, photoshop everything on sRGB, after file is saved switch to calibrated profile on monitor -> all goodmonitor using calibrated profile, photoshop everything on sRGB -> color shifts in image, hex color codes do not match
i recently got rid of my external monitor (moving around a lot) which i had set to sRGB. colors were very close to what it would have been calibrated, which is why i never bothered to change color profiles. now that i am using only a notebook (mbp), however, it quickly became apparent that the sRGB color profile made look everything quite blue-ish. after calibrating the display, all was well, however...
... until i started working in photoshop. there are color shifts apparent and the hex color codes do not match up; i have never had this problem before.is there any setting in photoshop i might have overseen? as described above, it's not a problem as long as everything is set to sRGB and i use the calibrated profile afterwards; it only occurs when working with it.
