Mar 19, 2011I have some hand drawn patterns that need resizing by percentage and printed. However, when I resize, it shows exactly the same and prints exactly the same.

Dec 16, 2003I'm looking for a way to resize a large number of images, but not to a specific size. Because of the vertical and horizontal orientation of my various photos, I want to be able to decrease the size of photos I won't be printing by a given percentage.

Nov 15, 2013I'd like it, if an image is re-sized to the same percentage as the current zoom level, afterward the zoom is automatically switched to 100%
Typically, if I have an image too big for it's intended use, I'd adjust the zoom until I get it to appear the right size, then resize it to the zoom level. (I imagine many people do the same thing). However, after resizing, the view of the image is really tiny, since the old zoom level is now being applied to the smaller image.
Paint Shop Pro :: X5 Program Does Not Allow Resizing
Oct 7, 2012Problems with the resize facility? The program does not allow resizing on some photographs but it does on others, even those taken on similar settings (same ISO) within minutes of each other. Pressing the resize option or the new button on some photos brings up the resize widow at top left of the screen with no data and only the word 'Static' where the original data should be shown and nothing in any of the other various boxes. Inputting data in any of the boxes does not work and the OK button does not work either. On other photos the usual resize window comes up in the middle of the screen with original photo data shown and all the usual options displayed for the required resize.
The same photographs which will not resize in X5 resize normally in my X3 version and I get the message "Requested parameter not found in the repository" when attempting to resize the photos on my laptop copy of X5.
Paint Shop Pro :: X4 Cropping And Resizing
Oct 12, 2011I recently upgraded from X3 to X4 and just noticed a Cropping and Re-sizing issue with X4. When I crop or re-size an image and then save it as a JPG, the size of the image prior to saving and the size displayed after saving and reopening are different. When I open the PRINT LAYOUT screen for the JPG, it confirms that the image was NOT re sized or cropped. It almost appears like there is an issue with the way X4 saves a JPG. When I perform the exact same cropping or re-sizing but save the image as a TIF, the problem does not happen. I also duplicated the cropping and re-sizing under X3, saved the image as a JPG and the problem did NOT happen.
By the way, when I worked with tech support, they could not duplicate the problem on their system but when they remotely accessed my computer, they saw the problem. The only difference seems to be that I have a PC with a 3.33 gigahertz Intel Core i7 X 980 processor.

Oct 9, 2012I have been using Paint.NET on my laptop for a really long time, I just installed it on my desktop and I am having a problem with resizing. Every image I resize the image gets all distorted around the edges, high and low resolution images! If I take the same image and resize it on my laptop it looks prefect but if I resize it on my desktop it looks horrible!
For example on the image I attached, I shrunk the Pinterest P I use often, as you can see one looks great (laptop version), the other not so much (desktop)!

Apr 20, 2011referred to this software, tried it out but can't get my desired results? I have about 16 images of website screenshots, meaning I took full page screenshots of different sites to use in my Portfolio page so I need the dimensions of all 16 site's screenshots to be the exact same size which is 192x115, problem is I am not allowed to type in those exact dimensions before resizing. Is there any I can get my desired results?

Feb 20, 2013I'm losing a lot of quality when resizing images (I'm using CTRL + R and Best quality resampling).
The images I usually resize have approximately 900 x 900 pixels and they are basically text print screens. I resize them to 80%.

I have 160+ photos of different sizes (but mostly 1600 x 1200). I'm running them in a loop for my screensaver. I transferred them to my cellphone, to be used as wallpaper, but they're too big to fit the screen. I can only see a portion of the image. So I'd like to reduce the size for them all, without having to do each one individually (and tediously).

1) the shift key currently only constrains proportions when dragging the corners. make it also constrain proportions when dragging edges (keep the opposite edge-center box in place).

Mar 7, 2012I want to create a collage. I set a feather value, make a selection out of a 2nd image and paste it into another file. Pastes in fine, but when I try and grab the corner of the pasted layer and resize it to be smaller, for some reason (I have done this approach on 20 other occasions), it doesn't resize as a rectangle as it should. It starts to resize as an octagon type shape. The following link shows an example of a freshly pasted layer that I tried to resize. There must be some setting that got changed because I have done this across four different versions of paint shop

Took those pictures and opened them in paint.net. these pictures open up to be about 75 by 45. I might be trying to do the impossible but im trying to get it down to be able to fit on a 4x6 picture but everytime and way i try it always seem to pixelate it.

May 22, 2013Whether just dealing w/ a png file (resizing) like attached, or converting to smaller sized icon, for the most part it eliminates the white circle, when reduce to somewhere around 32 x 32 px.
Maybe this is because the reduction makes the given element too small to reproduce?
But, in the reduced versions, there are PARTS of the white line that are clearly visible - but not a solid white line. So if it shows part of the line, as an intermittently dashed line, why can't it show the entire line?
The image was created / saved at 32 bits. It's not only a problem dealing w/ icons - it's reducing png files as well.
I'm thinking it may be better to start off w/ an image close to the finished size. But w/ icons in one icon file ranging from 16 to 64 & even 256 px, that's hard to do.

Oct 2, 2011I frequently use a script to resize .jpgs from 3600x3600 to 1000x1000 dpi to save space on my hard drive. After resizing 300+ .jpgs last night, I found that they all retained their original file size. An image that started out as 3600x3600 dpi with a file size such as 3.5mb that was resized to 1000x1000 dpi using the script in X4 still had a file size of 3.5mb when it should have been considerably smaller than 1mb. I relaunched the application and rebooted my computer but no change. To fix the problem I had to run the .jpgs thru the batch process again using the same script but in X3.
The script I was using was created in X3 so I tried creating an identical script in X4. Regardless of which script I used in the X4 batch process, the same thing happened.
This problem seems to be unique to the script and/or batch process. I can open a .jpg file in X4, resize it from 3600x3600 to 1000x1000 dpi, save the changes, and the file size changes accordingly.

Aug 1, 2013When I Select All/Copy a photo to Paste as New Layer on top of another photo, it always pastes as a humongous image. I have to scroll & scroll & scroll down to find grab handles, then fiddle & fiddle resizing the image to the same size as the underlying photo. I take the photos with the same camera. Seems to me the photos ought to be the same size!

Nov 22, 2013I decided to go ahead with the upgrade at $29 and then immediately installed the SP1. Well now I have an issue that I didn't have before. When I use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out the window does not resize anymore along with the image itself (not using tabbed mode), there are settings in preference just for this type of action so the window should resize with the image while zooming if the settings are checked properly. I did a reset and reinstall without any results. Of course the reinstall includes the updated version now so I can't be sure if the SP1 is the cause or not.
The only thing different since my free trial period is I updated Windows 8 - 8.1 and installed the SP1. Any issue with or without W8.1 or after installing SP1?

Aug 4, 2011I've scanned some of my old Yearbook portraits for a project I'm working on. These are, as you can imagine, those small, black & white yearbook photos that are arranged in rows alongside your fellow classmates whose last names start with the same letter as yours.
Naturally, these photos are rather tiny. So I used PDN to resize them to appear larger. Unfortunately, what I end up getting is a recognizable photograph of a younger me, but there appears to be a "checkerboard" effect whereby the horizontal lines appear purplish-blue against a grey background while the vertical lines are somewhat faded. I'm assuming this is clearly because of the fact that I had to resize said photo by several hundred percent.
I'm wondering if there's any way to get rid of that checkerboard effect.

Dec 12, 2012I need to be able to re-size images that are large than 1MB in order to put them on our MLS site.
My previous computer had 2 arrow icons on the desktop.
One was for re-sizing horizontal pics and the other for re-sizing vertical pics.
I could simply drag/drop the image file onto these re-sizing icons and they would be re-sized.
The smaller file size thumbnail would appear on the desktop.
How can I get these re-sizing tools on my new computer's desktop?
I am using CS6.

1. There is no chance to scale 1px line to be 2px
2. You cant make from 10px height object 1px line.
From 1px line always staying 1px.
From more than 1px you can make only 2px line not 1px.
Thing happening from X3 to newest X6.
Small things but making my work a bit longer.

Jan 18, 2007This is something that i never really gave much thought - but what value do the opacity parentages really have?
See my assumption was that 50% + 50% = 100%. So if you had a solid black layer set to 50% opacity and you duplicated that layer one would think that it would be solid black again... but no is only 75% black. WHAT?
The other thing is that solid black with and opacity level of 50% over solid white is a true 50% gray which is half black and half white - do to half's not make a whole?
