I have resized my images to an 8 x 10 format, but when I sent the files to my print lab, they told me they are less than an 8x10, with a resolution less than what I had indicated in prox3.
View 2 RepliesI frequently use a script to resize .jpgs from 3600x3600 to 1000x1000 dpi to save space on my hard drive. After resizing 300+ .jpgs last night, I found that they all retained their original file size. An image that started out as 3600x3600 dpi with a file size such as 3.5mb that was resized to 1000x1000 dpi using the script in X4 still had a file size of 3.5mb when it should have been considerably smaller than 1mb. I relaunched the application and rebooted my computer but no change. To fix the problem I had to run the .jpgs thru the batch process again using the same script but in X3.
The script I was using was created in X3 so I tried creating an identical script in X4. Regardless of which script I used in the X4 batch process, the same thing happened.
This problem seems to be unique to the script and/or batch process. I can open a .jpg file in X4, resize it from 3600x3600 to 1000x1000 dpi, save the changes, and the file size changes accordingly.
How can I resize an object bigger and still keep it at high quality. The resize tool makes the image look blurry.

The program does not allow resizing on some photographs but it does on others, even those taken on similar settings (same ISO) within minutes of each other. Pressing the resize option or the new button on some photos brings up the resize widow at top left of the screen with no data and only the word 'Static' where the original data should be shown and nothing in any of the other various boxes. Inputting data in any of the boxes does not work and the OK button does not work either. On other photos the usual resize window comes up in the middle of the screen with original photo data shown and all the usual options displayed for the required resize.
The same photographs which will not resize in X5 resize normally in my X3 version and I get the message "Requested parameter not found in the repository" when attempting to resize the photos on my laptop copy of X5.
I recently upgraded from X3 to X4 and just noticed a Cropping and Re-sizing issue with X4. When I crop or re-size an image and then save it as a JPG, the size of the image prior to saving and the size displayed after saving and reopening are different. When I open the PRINT LAYOUT screen for the JPG, it confirms that the image was NOT re sized or cropped. It almost appears like there is an issue with the way X4 saves a JPG. When I perform the exact same cropping or re-sizing but save the image as a TIF, the problem does not happen. I also duplicated the cropping and re-sizing under X3, saved the image as a JPG and the problem did NOT happen.
By the way, when I worked with tech support, they could not duplicate the problem on their system but when they remotely accessed my computer, they saw the problem. The only difference seems to be that I have a PC with a 3.33 gigahertz Intel Core i7 X 980 processor.
I am a newbie and simply take my Panasonic Lumix .JPGs at about 5,800 kB, open them in the advanced editor and then simply save-as - no editing, no resizing etc. They then are saved at very low resolution of 281 kB. Must be a setting somewhere, but did not find any answer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to create a collage. I set a feather value, make a selection out of a 2nd image and paste it into another file. Pastes in fine, but when I try and grab the corner of the pasted layer and resize it to be smaller, for some reason (I have done this approach on 20 other occasions), it doesn't resize as a rectangle as it should. It starts to resize as an octagon type shape. The following link shows an example of a freshly pasted layer that I tried to resize. There must be some setting that got changed because I have done this across four different versions of paint shop

When I Select All/Copy a photo to Paste as New Layer on top of another photo, it always pastes as a humongous image. I have to scroll & scroll & scroll down to find grab handles, then fiddle & fiddle resizing the image to the same size as the underlying photo. I take the photos with the same camera. Seems to me the photos ought to be the same size!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided to go ahead with the upgrade at $29 and then immediately installed the SP1. Well now I have an issue that I didn't have before. When I use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out the window does not resize anymore along with the image itself (not using tabbed mode), there are settings in preference just for this type of action so the window should resize with the image while zooming if the settings are checked properly. I did a reset and reinstall without any results. Of course the reinstall includes the updated version now so I can't be sure if the SP1 is the cause or not.
The only thing different since my free trial period is I updated Windows 8 - 8.1 and installed the SP1. Any issue with or without W8.1 or after installing SP1?
Program that I use call Sketchup. In SketchUp you draw model of a building to post it in google Earth but it can't be any larger 10 MB what makes the file size grow is the pictures that you applied to your model, (Downsample all texture files that have been used to paint the surfaces. Take each texture into a photo editor and reduce the resolution) this will supposedly minimize the file size? Is this possible when I transfer my photos from SketchUp back into Corel , how do I reduce the resolution so it would reduce my file size?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to take my out of camera image, which is at 314ppi at about 9x12 and crop it to 8x10 at 300ppi. But, when I go to the crop tool, and click 8x10 preset, the resolution is set at 72ppi, and i can't see how to change that. So, the preset crop tool gives an outline of the crop area that is very small. The picture itself when it comes up is something like 33 " x 38" at 72ppi. If I go into resize image, it gets time consuming; you'd think I could just select the 8x10 preset at 300ppi and get a file that is about 2400 x 3000 ppi....8x10, 300ppi.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Paint.NET on my laptop for a really long time, I just installed it on my desktop and I am having a problem with resizing. Every image I resize the image gets all distorted around the edges, high and low resolution images! If I take the same image and resize it on my laptop it looks prefect but if I resize it on my desktop it looks horrible!
For example on the image I attached, I shrunk the Pinterest P I use often, as you can see one looks great (laptop version), the other not so much (desktop)!
referred to this software, tried it out but can't get my desired results? I have about 16 images of website screenshots, meaning I took full page screenshots of different sites to use in my Portfolio page so I need the dimensions of all 16 site's screenshots to be the exact same size which is 192x115, problem is I am not allowed to type in those exact dimensions before resizing. Is there any I can get my desired results?

My previous computer had 2 arrow icons on the desktop.
One was for re-sizing horizontal pics and the other for re-sizing vertical pics.
I could simply drag/drop the image file onto these re-sizing icons and they would be re-sized.
The smaller file size thumbnail would appear on the desktop.
How can I get these re-sizing tools on my new computer's desktop?
I am using CS6.

PSP X4 was just updated and now I can't catalog any images. I can navigate via "Browse more folders" and select my main pictures directory, but in the Organizer I see no thumbnails. i have more than 4,000 files (almost entirely .jpg files) and now I can't see any of them unless I access them via <File><Open> This is very frustrating, as I had a system that was just fine 24 hours ago, but now I'm essentially hamstrung.
After working with some pictures in PaintShopProX4 I saved them as jpeg and tif, but the brightness of the pictures is different ( they are darker) outside PaintShop. Is there something I should do to keep the original brightness?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you can imagine, I've just upgraded to X3. I just saved a .tiff image as a pspimage, without any editing. When I close it and go to re-open it, I can open it in X1 and in X3, BUT NOT IN Paint Shop Pro 9, which is and probably will remain my workhorse. The browser in PSP 9 doesn't even show the pspimage, only the .tif image. I've tried to open it in PSP 9 via Windows Explorer, but get one of two error messages: "This is not a valid pspimage" or "no preview available". Monkeying around with the File Associations in PSP 9 doesn't seem to work.
The problem arises if I want to do the bulk of my editing/restoration in PSP 9 and then bring it up in X3 in order to use one of the newer tools, such as the Makeover tool. Once I do that, I've lost the ability to re-open it in PSP 9.
Is there a way that you know of to make an X3 pspimage available in PSP 9, or is it inherantly not possible?
I'm trying out PSP X4 on the free trial. I'm on a Dell laptop with Windows 7. The camera is a Nikon D70s. I was trying to use UFRAW to transform the images from NEF format to PNG, and then GIMP to adjust and crop and resize. I've found GIMP to be really frustrating to use, so I'm dropping that for something else, hence the PSP X4 trial.
For the most part, I need it for digitally editing the documentation photos that I take of my paintings, and as well for managing our family photos. I've been using ArtRage for digital painting.
So mainly for my painting photos, I need to adjust the color balance to the gray card, adjust for lens distortion, crop, and resize.
When I open my folder of NEF files, the NEF files look really over exposed and washed out, especially compared to the PNG files that I made earlier using ufraw. They appear that way in both the viewing bar and when they're in the edit mode.
Does PSP have some kind of default viewing auto-adjustment going on? Am I missing something?
On the Manage page. Either in Thumbnail mode or Preview Mode I get no images.In Organiser at the bottom all I get is a row of light grey boxes with a X in it and the filename beneath but no picture.
I have associated all file types with PSP although that should not be necessary to get a thumbnail image as I tried the trial version before buying version X4 and it worked as expected.
I have stared to create a collage, after inserting some of the images, I saved the project and closed the program (x3). When I opened again the callage, all the inserted images was merged together and I can move only all of them together.
How can I separate the images so I will be able to move each of them separately in order to insert more images and change the order of them in the collage.
How do I cleanup some of the edges around these images?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a ( ongoing) or a series of problems trying to create a video from still Photos or a video that I take with my little Sony cyber shot camera. I believe that the entire problem is the file extensions. I get UDF,MOFF,MP4 to name a few.
MY Camera produces MP-4 photos I download them as such do I have to change or convert them? I tried to convert some to wmv but that did not work . I get a message that windows photo viewer may not be working and could need an update if that is needed where would I get that? I need to know what has to be done . I use corel video studio x5 and also corel paintshop pro x4.on windows 7.0.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have changed all the settings on my computer and in PSP X5 to make it the default program that opens any picture/graphic file except files with the psp and pspimage extension because they aren't even an option. When I try to do it, it reverts back to X4. When I try to make the changes within the program itself, those 2 file extensions aren't even in the list!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the display of images that come out too blue. The thumbnail looks correct but the large preview image has too much blue. I have processed the same raw images in other software with no issues but this seems to be an issue with Paint Shop Pro. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?
Once I open the image the image in the raw converter it shows the color balance "As Shot" as a different value that what the Adobe software reads. Not sure why. You can try and adjust the blueness out of the image but why do I need to do this all the time when I don't have to in other programs.
If I open any image in the full editor the thumbnail takes on this too blue look as well, even if no color adjustments were made.
I have attached 2 screen shots that show the problem.
Im having problems blending photos together. Here are the steps that Im doing.
1. click on file+new+select image dimensions.
2. select images
3. click on first image hit selections, then select all
4. click edit, paste as new selection
once it paste, the picture is huge, how do I resize it to make it fit on the canvas I selected.
I recently installed Paintshop Pro X4 and have found I can no longer see the thumbnail images of photo's in windows file explorer. There just now appears lots of paintshop camera icons instead in all the directories. How do I get the images to appear again in Explorer as I use this all the time for searching and moving files???

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a longtime user of PSP 8 and just downloaded the trial version of PSP X5, thinking to buy it. With PSP 8, if I wanted to edit two images on the screen at the same time, I loaded them both into the program and then used the minimize button at the upper right hand of each image to switch them out of full-screen mode and put them next to each other. PSP X5 no longer has the minimize buttons attached to the images. I can tab back and forth from one image to the other, but I can't figure out how to put them both on the screen simultaneously. Is this feature still present somewhere in PSP X5? How do I access it?
